Oh boy
So did Yahtzee like/recommend WD:L? I couldn't tell
Is there a livestream this week?
Does he need a copy of Hellpoint?
If someone made a half-decent Logan's Run game, with Jenny Agutter doing her own voicework, I bet it'd be the only 5 star review Yahtz ever does.
A question I ask myself almost daily: "What AM I on about?"
Defending us with the MG42, clearly.

@@CommissarJimbo It seems we've come across a Ross Scott reference
Now things are beginning to make sense, more later.
_Oh, for the love of Agnus-_
Are you on about that again!?
I'm gonna make a cyberpunk game called Runrunner
And the main characters name is Dash Rush
Will the antagonist be called Dasher Dashlane?
@@Psycheitout I'll name my main character Cy Bearpunk.
Dystopia where cyborgs running sport has taken over
The fact that there is a significant chance you will follow through with this comment and actually make it makes it so much better.
The moment Yahtzee sorta breaks character to say "What am I on about?" is still one of my favorite ZP moments lmao
What you're on about: "I should really stop writing reviews right before lunch"

Managed to get mixed up with CM Punk...
...while I was _looking_ at the incredibly distinctive Daft Punk helmet.
Just another day in the life of an utter space cadet (albeit one who's been watching too much wrestling-related content recently).
There it is; a decade later and he asked the vital question: "What am I on about?"
I have no clue, I never had one, and please don't stop

We've finally gotten to the point where Yahtzees metaphors are so out there that he has begun to question himself.
0:35 Tech Runner ? Oh you mean (William Shatner's) TekWar !?!
From Capstone, the pinnacle of entertainment software.
THAT is what I was thinking!
I believe Civvie 11 covered that one.
*CV-11 screams in the distance*
but what about Metarunner
I’m sure the developers of this game were worried about it coming out after Cyberpunk. Oh wait...
this is probably one of the few times I've beat a game before watching a zero punctuation on it and one of the very few times I've 100% agreed with it.
I agree
But its a great game non the less
@@onechilldude4247 Indeed, most complaints aren't nearly enough to ruin the game. When ghostrunner hits, it hits hard.
@@rwarrior6213 Indeed. It's no masterpiece, but it's fun and enjoyable.
Oh my god you literally stole those words from my brain
Even down to specifically mentioning the second bosses parrying windows doesn't properly sync with her animation in a way that makes sense. I nodded.
Hey, Yahtzee! Been watching you for over 10 years now and I always look forward to your videos! You're fantastic; keep up the amazing work!
The first Yahtzee vid I ever watched was on the original Bioshock. This channel's only gotten better over time.
My first ZP video was Diablo 3 for some reason.
But my most rewatched ZP videos are Sim City and Mortal Kombat (2011)

Of course! What genuinely made it for me was the environment, the tower you’re climbing up is SO cool and I adore cyberpunk settings.
0:35 Homestar Runner isn’t cyberpunk. Granted, the webshow was inspired by the Olympics; however, that whole concept barely gets mentioned in the grand scheme of things.

To be honest I don’t see why people call it that, I mean the gameplay is so much different. Cyberpunk is an RPG, this is a balls to the walls action game not what cyberpunk is. If tryout waiting for cyberpunk play ac Valhalla
Aged badly. Ghostrunner was fun, Cyberpunk was boring in just about every way
‘What am I on about’ - such a good phrase.
the "what AM I on about" did not make me bust out laughing at my computer desk
no, it was the casual seamlessness of the transition into it that did that
That's my favorite sort of comedy, seamless transition from one state of mind to a completely different one like it's completely normal
To be entirely fair, even the canon Doc Ock doesn't have much mobility. Those are arms, after all, not legs, and he's a scientist, not an athlete. The main reason he uses the silly things to move around is because he gets winded on a donut run.
The main advantage of Doc Ock's tentacles is having multiple hands attached to big metal arms that you can hit and block things with.
Exactly, he's a grappler, not a whirling cartwheel of doom.
I was so perplexed as to why you call him "Doc Ock" when Octavius nor Octopus have a 'K' in them. So I looked it up. No explanation, just referred to as that even in official channels. I am baffled by this.
0:13 I thought we were already there?

Aside from the cyberspace platforming sections, this game is an absolute blast
The bosses are like really ultra super mega trash. I think TOM is a really great boss, but Mara is embarrassingly bad, the voice actor switches for some reason, and the fight with the other ghostrunner is literally just a shittier version of Sekiro.
The final run in Cybervoid is a hell of a lot of fun but that's mostly because it doesn't play like any of the other Cybervoid sections - it plays like a proper level.
What I really liked are Cybervoid puzzling sections, when the game went Antichamber.
I like all of the boss fights but Mara was disappointing in how few actual patterns she had and how easy it was to figure it out after the first or second try.
I played the demo and the cyberspace part at the end made me second guess buying the full game. I don't get why every action game that comes out now always has sections where everything slows down for an extended period of time for no reason. Like why did that section take away the dash ability, wall running and grappling hook? Those are the things that made the game fun.
"and stone cold uncoil a dudes flesh like he's the wrapping on a tube of biscuit doe" Marvelous imagery xD
I wish yahtzee would stop making great analogy’s and then acting like he’s talking nonsense
yeah it struck me how kind of bad that was. The analogies are a central part of his Voice, so apologizing for them or drawing attention to them suddenly is... weird. Weirdly self indulgent, wish he wouldnt do that
@@tabula_rosa Okay.
Yeah it'd be so much more efficient if he'd skip straight to the talking nonsense part

Many imps died to bring us this episode.
Many cyborgs too but their on contract from cyberpunk dystopialand so we don't care about them
There's a game where you run around shooting cooked animals. It's called "Roastgunner".
I kek'd. This needs more ratings.
Ooooh, so THAT'S what happened to my Chesterfield sofa..... Ew.
The second boss was by far my favourite, it took a while to figure out, but VEEEEERY satisfying when you figured out when to parry. First and third boss were really just trial and error though. Overall I was really pleased with it for AUD$30, even when it only took me about 6 hours to finish
The game has a free demo on steam. I highly recommend you try the demo out and see if its for you. The main gameplay loop is so satisfying and fun.
Thank God I got some rollerblading practice when I visited Vietnam before covid happened. I'm set for the cyberpunk dystopia.
can we just appreciate the line "it takes longer to cool down than the horniest cat in the furnace" 3:08
Ah the highlight of my Wednesday. Gets me through the week.
One of the things in this game that threw me for a loop was the lack of a double jump, espically when I found out that it was not on the upgrade tree.
WTF THERES AN UPGRADE TREE!?!?! I've been fumbling trough this thing for a week!
Never thought I'd hear a reference to Midsomer Murders on CZcams :D
Chesterfield sofa, I'm making a note of that one, I'll have to try that when I'm off the IKEA watch list again.
Love these vids dude! keep making great stuff!
We all have gone down one of those "Metaphor singularities" where you start with the metaphor and never stop
The little credits gag is top-shelf today

Nice
I am stealing that analogy at the end, that was comedy gold!
Always love your stuff been watching for so long !
I don’t understand: the traitor could be the mean voice OR the bunny rabbit. Which one is it?
It's the rabbit. If your stern commanding voice would turn traitor, that wouldn't be much of a twist. Also, remember that thing with "would you kindly" from Bioshock? Yeah, if someone politely asks you, he couldn't be A FUCKING MAFIA BOSS AND A TEN-FOOT TALL STEROID GORILLA, right?
I'm just guessing here, but the animator did show the bunny rabbit standing over the MC on a cliff, and the second boss was a female ninja. It certainly wasn't as clear as Yahtz made it out to be, but from the other hints he dropped, I'd go with the bunny.
After all...
.....
....
Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes. They've got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses. And what's with all the carrots? What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
It's the Architect, the stern inhumane A. I. literally telling you how superior you are and how you shouldn't be saving thousands of humans that will die just to make a point and instead they should die for you trying to help you.
Yhatzee didn't quite flesh that one out
To be fair, both outcomes are so cliche and overdone that it really could be either.
@@SapphireDragon357 OMG! A Buffy reference!!

KERPLUNK I grew up playing my moms version of it that she had as a kid. Grandma still has it I believe.

Karlson isn’t happy with you

Ooooh rollerblading
even in the tutorial you can cut lasers out of the air if you're fast enough.
For a $30 AA game, it is pretty solid. Lots of frame dips on on current gen consoles but I am sure looks fantastic on the new systems.
Pretty inconsistent in terms of AI behavior, but it's not unplayable or anything. Other than that this review is pretty solid. I recommend it if you wanna kill an afternoon.
At least I have these videos to fall back on. These days I find myself hating a lot of games I’m very interested in. Starts to feel like maybe I’m the problem. These vids let me know I’m not totally crazy
Once again surprisingly accurate
Yahtzee getting thrown off by his own analogy xD
After all these years a laugh still seems to escape my mouth. Well done and keep on. . . like my opinion matters
It took him about a decade but Yahtzee finally turned around and asked himself what he's on about.
Logan's Run is just a dystopian future science fiction. Cyberpunk is also a dystopian future scifi, but the subgenre is distinguished by being about the disparity between the rich and the poor, corporations are the rulers of the world, and a blurring between machines and man, and a question of what makes something 'human'. Also greed is a central motivator. Another hallmark is the old world contrasted and seen through the new. Signs of things we can find in our own world, covered in a thin veneer of high tech. Another common trope is the 'just barely obsolete' technology being used everywhere like yesterday's magic trick.
The ending got me
No I think you’re onto something with that poop sandwich analogy please continue
one of my favorite ending lines of zero punctuation.. and I don't say that lightly
Ikr
nice review, NAILED IT :D keep it up
.22 Long Rifle is very scary ammunition :D
Does anyone know if Yahtzee mentions anything in regards to speedrunning games in general?
Because I feel like this games speedruns are one of the most satisfying, technically challenging things to watch/pull off.
You play as Daft Punk?! That's pretty cool! :D
"Queefing robo-vaginas" is something i didn't think i'd hear today.
I'm sure that if girl-ninja pulled out her mask, she would turn out to be Nariko from heavenly sword. Exact same spastic flailing in Yathzee's animation
Upvote for the bunny alone.
Netrunner LCG reference HELL yeah!!!
How are these always so damn creatively funny XD
Legit went back to watch the Bombshell (and VERY well justified review of The Witness, spot on Yahtz) and realized how amazing it could've been.
The second boss timing is when her sword goes yellow. It's hard to time but possible.
Also her sword making the swoosh sound. It always felt like I hat to parry after she finished the attack.
Yeah that part kinda sounded like yhatzee jist wasn't eatching his opponent.
It becomes even easier to follow her movements once you realize she just does the same few moves everytime.
Was 1:15 a cheeky Public Service Broadcasting reference?
I played Shadowrun on the SNES back when I thought they were spelling run with a W - you know, like Shado Wrun.
Never did beat it... back then, anyway, but then when I came back to it I did manage to figure it out.
Was a fun game.
I made a mistake getting the switch port of this game. It's absolutely a mouse-and-keyboard deal.
4,000 disgusting metaphor-laden reviews in, and Yahtzee finally thinks "what am I on about?"
Well in his H:ZD review he ends a statement with "by anyone who can figure out what the fuck I'm on about"
Gods, how long has been since I last thought about Kerplunk?
Karlson: Am I a joke to you?
This game is great. Reminds me of cluster truck but you're a ninja
Ghostrunner: When Deus Ex meets Metal Gear Rising
Man, Katana Zero meets Mirror's Edge is exactly how I felt about this game.
Anyone else who didn't use the slo-mo feature in "Katana Zero"? I got used to the "Hotline Miami" gameplay so I'd just focus on using projectiles and movement rather than using slo-mo. If I can fault "Katana Zero" for something it's how unnecessary slo-mo is.
I learned howcto properly use slow mo in the last level, honestly could've use a bit more explanation, either way only moving sideways in slow mo while on the air didn't feel that impactful so I figure we didn't miss much
@@El_King911 My experience exactly. Reloads after a death were quick, the gameplay was fast and the level would get into your muscle memory. Slo-mo was unnecessary and didn't fit the premise. If you're a ninja you work in the shadows and if you have to get into melee fights you need to deal a death blow as quickly as possible. Slo-mo worked for "Max Payne" because it was an awesome Hollywood-style action game. If you only have a handgun you can enter a room with five guys wielding shotguns and uzis because you're like "kill the closest guy with an uzi using slo-mo, take his gun, slo-mo again to do headshots at his closest buddies, take up a shotgun and start peppering the rest at close range if the slo-mo meter is exhausted."
In conclusion:
Just wait for Karlson to come out.
This is probably my favorite video simply because Yhatzee used uwu speech 1:28

Its a video game not a book the mechanics are the focus here, the story is light because it gives you agency without slowing down the fast gameplay with cutscenes
