I keep getting rejections by selected universities in which I saw unpleasant behaviors, every fridays. I was thinking if it could be a form of harassment as it demonstrates a pattern of behavior?

Please, if I may, I would like to suggest you to talk about postdoc training funds from both sources: NIH (not open to international students) and the private ones (sometimes opened to internationals). How they complement or not the post doc positions? Is it a completely independent funding for us?

I have a question: im planning to defend in December, but the postdoc i applied has a starting date of August or soon after.. i want the position but i also need vacation after my defense! Is it ok to say that i need a break so that they push the start date a little more after my viva? Thanks in advance 😅
This is typically not shown. You can list it and then add “applied but not accepted.” In general, we wouldn’t see it on a CV though unless it is accepted.

I am taking a break of sometime after my defence and before applying for post docs (3-4months).. how okay is it?? Just need ur opinion..
I think it’s ok. People have family, etc that also impact our timelines for career advancement and it shouldn’t hurt.
