Why HAYABUSAS FEAR this SENTIMENTAL Suzuki Bandit 1200 insane TURBO MONSTER!

  • Meet Todd and his one of a kind Suzuki Bandit 1200 turbo charged street tire drag bike and hear why the motorcycle is so special and sentimental to him. In this video from the Southeastern drag bike association in Crossville, Tenn. we get a close look at the turbo charged, air cooled motorcycle, ask Todd why he choose a Bandit, watch him race (and win), get a detailed description of what the turbo Bandit 1200 top speed, acceleration, and ride down the drag strip is like, hear how he doubled horsepower, and see Todd toast many Hayabusa, GSXR1000 and ZX-14s. We also talk about how Brock Davidson was the first man in the 7-second zone on a street bike in 1999 and he did it on a Suzuki Hayabusa. Enjoy, share and please share any memories you have of this bike.

I don't have a turbo or a extended swing arm but I can relate. I have had my Bandit for 15 years. It has a built N/A motor, (1277 cc's) and makes 165 HP. I do not drag race it, but I have done track days. The most fun I ever had with it was a track day with a Ducati club. I would shadow the fast bikes through the sweeping sections and then blow them away on the straights.

Run the four stroke blue bottle motorcycle oil 10w-40 from auto zone, it's $7.99 per quarter but I beat the hell out of the motor and it runs hard every time I fire it up. It's safer that way in case you have to take off to avoid a rear end situation. You may have a ton of experience and already know this, but I like to teach and blab sometimes. Don’t need a turbo for the street they will smoke most cars out there except all but the fastest ie Lambo’s Corvettes, ZR1 Camaro’s, GT 500 Shelby still don’t want to race those for money anyways! And with my Suzuki GSX-S1000 it’s usually after 100mph where they get me! I kill everything to 100mph even the faster bikes like busa and GSXR just cause of weight, torque, and it’s geared low for a liter bike! Plus mine is turned up I’m making over 154hp and 80 ft lbs of torque and the bike only weights 434lbs with gas! Getting the huge heavy exhaust off was almost 20lbs! Now I just have a open header with a open drag pipe! It’s loud but sounds good! And I have pirreli tires now to far better then the dunlop it just goes now before you would see the Traction control kick on some out of the whole now I don’t even use it and don’t spin! Wheelie sure I do have to short shift 1st and sometimes 2nd to keep the wheel down! You hit 3rd your gone though that gets me through the 1/4 mile In 10.3 seconds at 136mph! That’s my best ever time and it was at a out of town track closer to see level, my local track is 5000’ up so harder to make power unless your boosted them it don’t matter as much or any!
