Chicago, overall, is hands down the best big city in the US. Been here 15 years. There are a couple pretty big downsides, all related to the terrible segregation. Most of the neighborhoods are really nice. The ones that aren’t, really aren’t. It’s also a very safe city, especially for its size. Winters are long, but there’s lots to do. Summer is completely amazing. Fests everywhere.
I agree with you completely. I want to make a separate safety and segregation video soon. Thanks for watching :)
Definitely is
The best big city but has segregation? Lmao!
@@dubreil07 they all have segregation. There’s nothing to laugh at.
Maybe you're talking about overall because as far as safety goes because the areas that get on the news and that show the parts that are not safe I know it's primarily about 250,000 people in that area it's not the whole city but still Chicago is not known for being safe I've never heard that ever I'm not saying there are some good areas that could be there could be but they're a lot of ways but that's what you don't hear on the news though you don't hear about that you only hear about the crime that's going and that's been some of the worst yeah I mean statistics don't lie
For me it’s the most affordable big city when compared to NYC and LA.
YES! I totally agree 🙌 Chicago is where it's at👉😎👉
Planning to move to Chicago in about 1.5 years, hope it works out well. I am a big fan of cold weather, don't want to drive, and it seems way more affordable than NYC
🙏🏾
Same. I like cold, public transit, and money.
Same! I’m leaving Texas because I hate driving here
Same. I plan to move there around this time next year. June/July 2025
If anyone would like to network and possibly meet there on vacations before moving there ket me know. Im actually in Chicago on my picture
I love Chicago, and honestly, people who don't live here think it's much more expensive than it actually is. I came to Chicago without knowing anyone or having a place to live with about $3500. I had a job lined up and that was it, and it wasn't a high-paying job. I made $15 an hour and I survived. If I can do it, you can too.
Thanks for sharing! Glad things worked out❤️
Looks a nice place 👍
Did you end up staying in the city directly or in a suburb? I'm asking because I'm thinking of moving to the area.
@@Miriam-ui5pw I was in Avondale!
@AlkoWasAlreadyTaken Thanks for the info. I'm considering moving to Chicago from North Carolina. I have a long-term temporary position lined up, but this work would be in Elgin. However, I don't think I want to live in Elgin. Even though I'm a quiet, calm type of person, I want the excitement of living in the city and access to museums, libraries, shows, etc.
Chicagoans is our moniker indeed 😂. No city like Chicago. It’s wonderful here. Great content.
Chicagoans forever✊🏾 thanks man
@@chismprism Yes 🙌🏽
Chicago = Chiraq. In Hellinois
No city like Chicago? U can say that again pal.
There's no city like new York, the greatest and most famous city on earth.
Hey Taylor I just wanted to chime in with my experience for a minute- I live in New York City and visited recently. I have to say that I really fell in love with the place. The whole Metro area just seems full of immense possibilities, I feel like my spouse and I could find a place there or even retire to one of the suburbs. The city made a great first impression on me, but I did stay to the North, the Blue line from the airport/Rosemont to the loop and back. I have also visited it for a convention back in my 20s and it was a good time. Of course, the crime is my only concern. I actually felt reasonably safe on the Blue line and in or near the loop, but maybe other areas might be more risky. Recently it has seemed that crime is increasing there...hopefully not. Maybe coming in on the commuter train (Metra) might work better for us in the times we would want to come into the city. At the least it is definitely worth further exploration, I plan to.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I feel the same way. I feel safe here, I wanna live here for a long time. There are better neighborhoods than others (like any large city). Maybe favorite neighborhoods should be a whole other video? I don't want the news to scare people on crime. Makes me sad that it's a topic that has so much weight over other wonderful things in the area.
I moved to Chicago a year ago this month from NYC, actually. There are many similarities and many differences between the two cities. I love both places.
I went to Chicago for a 3 day break after visiting Boston and NYC. Chicago is the BEST city in the states. So good that I returned 10 months later for another holiday in December for a week. Saw the bears, bulls, hawks, visited Cubs and it feels like a cool village downtown but with the most beautiful architecture in the country. Went out to the burbs n saw the real Chicago n it was movie perfect. There are a few crazy’s in the loop after dark so I’d recommend the mag mile if you’re nervous, the jewel in chi towns crown has to be wildberry pancakes for breakfast. Worth another trip from uk for that alone!
That’s awesome to hear! I agree with you😋 we get a bad rep here but nothing like the classic USA Midwest. Glad you had a great time dude
So helpful! I’m am very seriously considering moving to and doing grad school in Chicago and would love any and all the Chicago content ❤
Loved your video ; I'm a native californian and I know some people from Chicago.. Los Angeles has some of the same transportation pros and cons
I moved to CHI from NYC a year ago this month. The transit here is good, but I feel like I need a car in Chicago. I never felt like that in NYC and really didn't need one there. The buses are safer in Chicago than the trains but less reliable and often delayed. It's quite frustrating. I live in Uptown and love the area.
I agree with you. In some areas a car is essential yet parking can be terrible. I recommend living near a train station if you don't have a car
@chismprism Yep! Luckily the train is 4 minute walk which is amazing! Lol
Been living here all my life…43yrs and even before I had children, I definitely needed a car. I’m not a fan of public transportation.
I’m moving from queens to Chicago, and I’m wondering if there’s anything you think I should keep a note of ?
@istril9107 Just know that the transit here is not nearly as robust as it is in NYC. Other than that, it should be an easy transition from Queens, in my opinion.
One may need a car if they wanna go to several places in a day...Chicago does have car sharing services..(Zip Car is only one of them) you pay a service fee to use a car for a few hours to run errands.....The Service fee covers maintenance, insurance, When you first get the car each day it has a full tank of Gas..when you return it you have to refill the Gas tank.
Im thinking to move to chicago. I live in Atlanta now but i am from New York. I am also west indian, are there any communities/events with a lot of Caribbean people?
Hi! Did a little research and apparently Chicago has one of the highest Indian/Asian populations in the US. The zip code 60661 has the highest percentage at 14.15%
Not for sure but West Ridge/Rogers Park maybe? (West Indian)
@@chismprismWest Indian is Caribbean not Asian 😭
Did you leave sis ? I’m in Atlanta right now I was thinking New York now Indiana or Illinois
This was helpful thank you
👍🏻 I appreciate this! My wife and I are moving in June 😁
NP! Best of luck on your move 😊
I visited forever ago and now I'm looking at moving because of treatment. I think the most memorial moment was meeting up with my friends who I visited with at a 7/11 for slushies, after arriving on my bike, and we walked to the Lincoln Park, to nap.
I live not too far from Uchicago, and love it.:) safe, great restraunts and stores.
I primarily use my car, but use metra at times.
I subscribed to show u some love I’m from Chicago born and raised
On the transporation front, I moved to Chicago a bit over four months ago from NC so ofc I have a car. I live in the Loop and have been beyond fortunate not only live directly beside basically every line in the loop, but also to only pay $140 a month for parking in a garage.
I'm supposed to only get four leaves a month for my garage, but for whatever I reason I get unlimited leaves. As I work in Uptown sometimes at night (which forces me to use the red line) I'll drive those days, but typically the CTA can get me where I need to be.
Overall excellent video, I'm actually looking forward to it getting cold here haha
That's awesome man! Thanks for sharing your experience. Cars can be helpful for sure and you have such a deal with a parking spot cause that can get expensive. I am glad the trains can help you also.
The city is awesome. However I dislike the cold weather. Unfortunately it’s highly segregated. I live in a diverse community. Further,I no longer need a car due to the walk ability. I live on the lakefront in Hyde Park. One of the best areas to live. I have lived in Chicago all my life. Never experienced crime, no theft, no break in, nothing.
Yes, there is crime yet I have been smart in how I navigate this city or any other city.
Thanks for your insight. Hearing lots of great things about Hyde Park!
Have you experienced mice ?? I’m hearing there’s a mice problem in the older buildings of Hyde park and although that isn’t a dealbreaker for me… still kind of worried me 😅
Another reason why I am so deeply in love with PIXIE ASMR, CHICAGO, ILLNOIS AND AMERICA!
Very nice video. We go to Chicago every July for a week and we LOVE IT. Your point on safety..... I tell people like this. Every city has parts you may not wont to go to and Chicago is like this as well. Chicago is also SO big that if you are not looking for trouble you probably will not find it. Stay downtown/ Lincoln Park and you will be fine.
Thanks for your words of wisdom here. I feel the same way! Glad you enjoy your time in the city
After watching a favorite art CZcamsr move to Chicago and buy an adorable condo, I was all hype to move. Then…you lost me at ‘guy on the train who smelled like poop’ 🤢. Staying put for now, but loved this video and the other positive info!
😂 Yeah, the train might be one of the biggest downsides. Thanks for watching
Lol you’ll experience that in any city with transportation. Poop smelling guys aren’t exclusive to Chicago
@@dookiepost not true lol. Never encountered a poop smelling guy in a train in New York, Philly or Boston. Must be a midwest thing
I will never leave the Chicago area . I love this channel!
I grew up in and around Chicago. Living now in Memphis, I really miss the Chicago weather. Winter was outdoor time (sledding, skating, snowball fights). It was never too cold.
I also miss the CTA. As a kid, I was able to easily go downtown to the museums and parks. Of course things felt safer in the early sixties. When I visit, I park the car and get a CTA three day pass. It’s relaxing watching the cars on the Kennedy parking lot as we glide by on the blue line. Memphis has buses, but they only go downtown, and on a very infrequent schedule. I haven’t tried to use mMemphis transport since college (when I had no car).
Hi, if you dont mind me asking, what area do you live in that is so affordable? I’m looking at Lincoln Park area and if course rent is very high
Not far from you. I'm in Lakeview. Live with a roommate and pay less than $800. For a city, compared to NYC or LA prices are decent
As a chicago native when you said its so cheap I was like what chicago are you in ???? Then I see you from NEW YORK so that explains a lot 😂😂😂😂😭
Lol
I visited Chicago twice & loved it (I’m from Boston). You are spot on with public transportation the only city I would say is better in that department is NYC. Surprisingly they say apartments in Chicago are expensive but it still has ways to go to catch up to us. I would definitely gas is more expensive out there then Boston believe it or not.
Glad you enjoyed your time here. I hear Boston has some crazy roads and can be kinda expensive too
The only city in America that’s not gridlocked
Do you know the affordable cost for apartments? And do you know for which areas? I want to move there but the costs I see are way too high.
Check out this video I made of neighborhoods and prices: czcams.com/video/lIk7J-92WNg/video.html
@@chismprism OMG. Thank you for your response. I will check it out. Thank you
I’m from NJ, 15 minutes away from NYC driving distance and honestly I notice so many similarities between Chicago and NY!
I can see similarities😅 #citylife
I live in Cleveland, OH but have visited Chicago, Cleveland reminds me of a smaller version of Chicago
Chicago !!!💪
Once I move from Honolulu to chicago and I like it better
Agree with you abt the uncomfortable smell on trains & buses 😱
Yeah people are stinky lol. Buses can be much better than trains
I love this video and you're channel! I think you made a lot of great points in this video. Unfortunately, the segregation has been around since forever here. It looks like it's beginning to change a bit as more development is happening on the Southside. As for the crime, yes it is problem, but the whole city is not in flames like the media tries to portray. We actually do get to enjoy our lives living in the city. LOL
Yes, agree. The city is slowly blending these lines but I was just surprised to see how obvious it was😱and thought it needed to be mentioned
@@chismprism I was riding the train about 5 plus years ago and some tourists from either Baltimore or Philly noticed it as well and was asking me about it. If you go from one side of the city to the other it becomes very noticeable.
@@moreanita8 It's wild. Even the tourist notice. SMH
You can thank the first Mayor Daley (Da Mare) for that. He was very open about the color lines and redlining (real estate term) was absolutely a thing back then.
Last night there was an attempt to break into the art institute downtown, things in there cannot be replaced, a good part of our mag mile was “in flames.” Civilized people acting like uncivilized behavior is acceptable is a huge part of the problem, as if they are trying to change the definition of good and bad. Seeing all the black youth behaving so poorly shows that there are a lot of terrible parents in the black community in this city, adults who are not at all caring for their children. THIS is the biggest problem in this city. People from poverty aren’t inherently evil, has nothing to do with it. Push against Chicago leadership so we hopefully do not have another insurrection downtown.
I Plan move on Chicago next year.
Love that!
Me too @patrickilunga3312.
That would be the biggest mistake of your life.
@@kidnpigtogether lol why

The talk about insane prices in New York is a little similar to the talk about crime in Chicago (as well as New York, for that matter). Yes, the issues exists; New York is an expensive city. But that doesn’t mean every middle-class New Yorker suffers paying his or her rent. For example, I’m paying slightly over 2K for a three-bedroom. It’s a matter of luck but also has a lot to do with your ability to negotiate.
It's a beautiful city. I live in Houston and it sucks!
Texas sucks
5:35 "the trains smell like pee" True, but it is worse in LA. To find clean and frequent and safe and cheap public transportation, see Mexico City.
Yikes sad it hear it's everywhere! The subway's were pretty bad in NYC too smh
I live in NOLA and was in Chicago for four days the first week of February this year and it wasn't too bad weather-wise. It was cold, but not nearly as unbearable as its reputation. There wasn't any snow on the ground at the time and I really didn't need gloves...I think the temperature during my time there was in the mid 40's-high 30s.
As usual, I enjoy myself whenever I visit, and bemoan having to leave.
I grew up in Chicago and go back often. The winters are brutal compared to my area of California. Also,I would need a car if I lived on the South Side or even in order to visit family there. I no longer feel comfortable walking around the neighborhoods that I frequent to visit loved ones.
3! I’m from Baltimore and I’m having such a hard time culturally. Otherwise, I love Chicago!
I feel you man!💕
Don't forget the Bud Biliken Day parade on the South side late every summer.
Sounds like NYC transit. I'm going to love Chicago. I'm praying to come with my business.
It's not as dirty as NYC transit in my opinion 😂. Come on over the Chicago, we don't bite
Most people in the state of Ohio is strapped down here which is why I love my state of Ohio but I grew up in the Queen City which is what they called Cincinnati, Ohio but I grew up in the Rhine neighborhoods, they called it over the Rhine neighborhood.
Thats what you should have called it signature experiences or personal experiences i think you said five facts i don't know kind of threw me in a loop there but i get it im a Chicagoan my self 👍 ✌️ & ❤

Atlanta has very clean trains
Love Atlanta but have never been on a train there. Seems their public transport is scattered because the city is so spread out.
Your experience (anywhere) is what you make it. If you go somewhere with negative expectations, that is what you will experience. If you move outside of God's will and for your own personal desires, you cannot expect to find favor and safety there. It is that simple.
That is beautifully said
Delusional
I’m moving to Chicago from South Africa in July: things being said Chicago is probably most definitely better than here
Interesting! Chicago will welcome you with open arms. It is still a great city
I'm moving August. We should link up if you are in jhb
Chicago is the best. Chicagoans are the best.(That's what we're called) EXCEPT for the violent ones we're the best. I've lived here for 67 years. No city in America is better! The segregation was intentional and EVIL! Because of it we are facing SERIOUS AND SEVERE problems. We CAN solve these problems but it will take love and understanding and better law enforcement and MUCH better investment. But bottom line we're working it out. I'm confident that we'll get there. Love your channel and your vibe. If I was 20 years younger . . . lol apologies old dogs still like to bark :) woof woof!
I think you'd need to be about 40 years younger actually...
I remember watching a documentary & it was estimated that to make Chicago neighborhoods integrated overnight 99% of the population would have to move
Well, that makes no sense whatsoever.
New Sub.
How is Carbondale southern Illinois safety for international students
I've never been to Carbondale. The furthest south I've stayed in Illinois is St. Louis. But generally I think you will do just fine.
Chicago is safe if you use common sense. Unless your low income living in Harvey, Sauk village, west side, or ingle wood. I would point out as a native if you are young and making good money Chicago can have some good living spaces. If your average salary you will struggle if single taxes are bad here and property tax along with high house cost is what keeps Chicago segregated. You want to live in oak park, Elmhurst, evergreen? Well prepare to pay $6000+ in property tax and $300,00 minimum on a house. Bad areas have houses for dirt cheap but houses need severe updating and the crime is also an issue in those areas.
All in all i say big cities like Chicago are for couples with 2 good incomes if you want to live in a good area with good schools. Or a stay at home parent and the other making around middle 3 figures. Or you own a successful business because most regular jobs here pay 14-18hr on average. Trades and specialized jobs pay well here though.
Chicago❤❤❤
🙌💕🔥
Moving here soon and def struggling with the demographics of the neighborhoods, what’s the most safe diverse place?
I feel your struggle. Honestly I would say West Loop is pretty up there for me. The diversity is slowly getting better. Wicker Park is a good option. Would provide more variety of culture [more Hispanic area] but West loop feels safer to me.
@@chismprism thanks for your reply!
I grew up in the DC Metro area but some areas you have to be careful in the Downtown areas. I grew up by Anacostia neighborhood which is very bad. Friendship Heights is nice neighborhood but i moved to the state of Virginia and i love it. I been to Chicago a few times but it's been a minute since i been there.
I really never understood the weather argument. We spend 70% of our adult lives working inside buildings... Who has time to give a shit about the weather?
I try to be outside a lot or have my windows open. The weather is huge 😂
@@chismprism i hear ya. Im just an urchin.
I live in Chicago. Are other cities not segregated?
It maybe common that cities have areas of condensed races but Chicago has one of the highest black population in the US but if you are in the north or west of the city you wouldn't even tell. Neighborhoods just don't seem to mix that much. Looking at any diversity map it also links to inequality in a lot of other factors like education and resources, sadly.
@@chismprism Ok that explains why they say Chicago is a fly by state 🛫🙄
I left cuz of corruption it's also easy to get sucked into things you don't wanna be sucked into since everyone is on top of each other it's generally safe but it's more but wrong place wrong time if you just move to city you don't know I recommend seriously keeping your circle as small as possible being a victim of a poverty crime or drug related is high but it's not as bad as news makes it out to be your right it's nice however the pandemic kinda messed things up lil bit
you are safe bc of the area you live in, chicago has safe areas and unsafe areas
You could say that. There really are pockets of areas to watch out for (like any city). Some trains can be sketchy. But generally there are lots of areas that are great. I can honestly say from the 5 years living here I feel safe. The news media hypes the bad for ratings which over shines all the great things about the city.
@@chismprism yea i agree, but im fine with that bc i dont want overcrowding, raising rents or gentrification and it keeps people away

Bums on redline sleeping and bedbug infested busses
I find it hard to believe that you don't know that Chicagoans are called Chicagoans.
Never heard anyone say that tbh, only on youtube comments
Wow, I always heard on the news that Chicago was such a bad city. I’m only 5 1/2 hours from there.
The news always show the bad cause it gets a lot of views. Chicago has ups and downs but I general have experienced so many positives. 🙂
A famous Chicago rapper FBG Duck was killed in the gold coast. Shot to death in broad daylight in one of the most affluent neighborhoods in the city. Always be aware of your surroundings anywhere in Chicago. The news exaggerates the crime but some of it is no exaggeration.
That man had a hit out on him, they was hunting him down anywhere they could catch him. That didn't have anything to do with Gold Coast, the Gold Coast is safe.
@michiganman8383 You missed my point. No matter where you are, always be aware of your surroundings bullets don't care, and you never know when something can happen.

When Chicago becomes 100% black, then you can blame white people for moving.. endless complaining
Neighborhoods like Englewood and Austin are the worst, if you are white, I guarantee you will be murdered or at least assaulted. People of color are allowed in any neighborhood in the entire city.
I am a lifetime Chicago resident and the segregation is astounding… it was designed that way by Richard j daley senior

Milwaukee is the most segregated city in America. Chicago is listed as the second. The south doesn't come up until 4 with Memphis. I still love Chicago. I'd rather we have our own neighborhoods, and fight for funding. I love my people. I'm from Milwaukee.
I had no clue about Milwaukee😶. Thanks for sharing
VERY SEGREGATED
I have and will continue to avoid Chicago. I think I'm in the majority here
😂 tell that to the 50 million people who visit each year and the 2.7 mill that live here
@@chismprism I'm sure both figures are declining! Don't get me wrong, Chicago should be one of the best cities in the country. If people there learned to vote, things would improve dramatically.
As someone who lived during the time of the Rodney King riots and has seen what happens when a person is in the "wrong" neighborhood during times of civil unrest, I have to resist the urge to move into neighborhood where I'm in the minority - especially in a city like Chicago where not only are the police ineffective but also where the crime rate is currently pretty outrageous. Anytime I start thinking otherwise I just re-watch the Reginald Denny situation, and remind myself that police are still kicking off racially charged situations from time to time (George Floyd) and I kind of look like a cop (big old white guy, ex-military) which could make me a target.

Hello. Just wanted to let you know that Jesus loves you very much. He is coming back very soon and He wants you to be ready.
Just go to Him as you are. You don’t have to be perfect. The only thing He requires is a full surrender of your life. Go to Him and give Him your life and everything. Once you surrender everything (from the heart). He will give you The Holy Spirit in His fullness. The Holy Spirit will then give you faith, the power to overcome sin, peace, fulfillment and above all, eternal life. You cannot do it on your own strength. It’s only by the Holy Spirit. And you get The Holy Spirit once you lay everything down, including your life at The Lord’s feet. He says in His Word “Not by might, not by power but by my Spirit”.
People think Christianity is boring. That’s because they see it as a religion. Christianity is not a religion, but a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who loves you and gave Himself for you. Having a relationship with Christ is the most joyful fulfilling thing you can ever have. Jesus changed my life and He wants to change yours as well. The reason we are all here is to fellowship with and have a relationship with God.
The Whole Damn Chicago Moved here to HOUSTON. GO HOME TOO MUCH DAMN TRAFFIC🙄🙄🙄
Well not quite..... 2.5 Million still there......Hope you have a big house........
I greatly like Chicago. I’m a big fan of the city…. But rents are affordable? Define “affordable.”
I'm speaking from my experiences of renting and comparing to other large cities in the US. I have always been able to find something within my budget. Even now during an inflated market, I only pay 800 between me and my roommate. Keep in mind it depends on where you live in the city.
The rents are definitely affordable considering Chicago is the 3rd largest city in the country and with all that the city has to offer. You're going to pay way more on either coast for a much, much smaller place. A lot of people that move here insist on living in neighborhoods like River North, West Loop/Fulton Market or the South Loop in a lux high rise. Nothing wrong with that, but of course it's not going to be affordable if that's what you're going for.
@@moreanita8 You couldn't have said it better!
Compared to NYC where I’m at it’s insanely cheaper like 47% cheaper
@@prettypuffprincess All things are relative. Comparing to NYC is one measure. I live in Louisville, Ky., where you can get a good 1-bedroom apartment in a lively neighborhood for $720. I wouldn’t take public transportation it’s dangerous
I understand that. It can be. I personally haven’t experienced anything to crazy. I’ve felt the same using NYC trains.
Depending on where you live in the city. I wouldn’t take the red line out south. 35th Street is my cutoff.
Gee, I wonder what changed?
@@anthonythomas6593 me too. I don’t have all the answers but it seem like the neglect of giving the right resources to communities like better schooling, well paying jobs, affordable safe housing; to primarily the south which has a larger black population (once again just segregation issues they were never fully fixed) Without better opportunities people get mixed up in the wrong things to survive cause there may not be another way and it’s making areas unsafe.
I used to use the blue line, but a lot of hood gangster types would constantly walk through the cars, mean mugging, intimidating people. I saw a man beaten pretty badly in my train car, pushed the help button with no answer. Our public transportation, CTA, have zero diversity in their hiring, they may need to be more open minded in their hiring, some different perspectives might bring better quality in their service.
Chicago is such a great city……….Yet it’s constantly declining && deteriorating not sure if it’s the brutal weather there the high cost of living ridiculous taxes or just simply the corrupt government But Chicagoans are flocking to my hometown of Houston,Tx in doves 🕊️ And the ones I’ve ran into absolutely love the city and said their never looking back to movin to Chicago Cuz Houston or just Texas Period is just a much better city && state overall higher paying jobs better entertainment better culture much better cuisine && food better education better universities And plus our lagoons make Lake Michigan look like swamp water Although I am one to give props where it’s due Chicago does have a better public transportation system then us but thts abt it😎🤷🏿♂️💯
It is true there are faults here that need to be worked on. Hands down. For my time in life, Chicago has given me what I need out of it. This is why I make the content I do hopefully it resonates with whoever needs to hear it. Thanks for sharing. I also love Houston and would love to visit TX again :)
They are flocking to your home city, in "doves"? .... I thought it was just a typo, then you doubled down with a dove emjoi. I think the expression is flocking to your city in droves.
No one is flocking to a shite TX city, he just wanted some attention
I was born and raised in Chicago and now live in Texas. I have visited Houston and ABSOLUTELY NO HOUSTON IS NOT BETTER THAN CHICAGO when it comes to culture and entertainment. Yes Texas is better in the economy and more job opportunities. But you can't beat Chicago's downtown and skyline. Nothing like the city vibes especially in the summer. Chicago summer vibes are on another level. And no Texas lagoons do not beat Lake Michigan that is a laughable statement. Aren't all or if not the majority of the lakes in Texas man made? I would love to return to Chicago one day but the weather and corrupt horrible politicians keep me away sadly.
Of course you're here. Pukeston is nowhere near the level of the alpha world class megacity of Chicago.
Why do you segregate
It's a long history lesson. Chicago has some deep dark roots
I've lived in Chicago all my life. The city is turning into Detroit. Very unsafe, you will get assaulted or robbed on trains. It's going to hell in a hand basket. With that said Chism, good job on your video. And don't get a car in Chicago or you will get carjacked. Again, lifelong Chicagoan here. I tell it like it is.
I’m sorry you have had to experience so much of the negatives of the city. Those are things to look out for in certain neighborhoods but not everywhere is that dangerous. I really have never experienced anything too dangerous from my time living in the North, West or downtown. Maybe I’ll make a video about pros&cons of Chicago neighborhoods
I definately agree with you on the dangers of getting robbed, assaulted, or carjacked, in areas like Englewood, Washington Park, or Garfield Park. But not everywhere in Chicago is that dangerous. Within The Loop and throughout the North Shore is much safer, and pretty nice actually, alot of things to do. Of course, you need more money to be in those areas. If you're financially struggling or broke, you'll probably be stuck in the dangerous areas.
I’ve been in Chicago for 44 years and have never been a victim of a crime. Only certain areas are bad but the majority of Chicago is safe.
What are the safe parts on the northside, far northside, and northern suburbs?
@@slickwilly6868 The north shore area of Chicago is safest. But also most affluent. From Evanston to Lake Forest and Lake Bluff is beautiful. And safe. Also, the north suburbs of Skokie and Glenview are safe. Then you have the northwest burbs of Park Ridge, Des Plaines, (most areas) and Mount Prospect which are very safe.
Your opinion went out the window when you admitted that you are from the suburbs.
😅Can’t help where I’m born but I love living in the city now. Would love to hear of your experience the city
Moron alert
The city is pretty dirty, you will see rats in the streets, the mental/homeless population is pretty depressing, the sound of echo sirens is disturbing, parking is ridiculously expensive, very gloomy in winter, etc, etc...
As sad as this statement is, that's a majority of American cities (Minus the weather thing for part of the year). And actually, it is much cleaner than a place like NYC. There is always good and bad
@@chismprismwell if Chicago is cleaner than new York and even though NYC IS MY DREAM I gotta pick
😢
Vacation Chicago. Come for the food. Stay because you got murdered.😢
Avoid moving to Chicago unless?
What is your message, I have been to Chicago many times, and is a city on a decline, it will be a total disaster after the white people level/ moved out .❤
The city has it ups and down. This video is for everyone to gather what they need most. Sorry you have such a poor view of the city but I'm still an advocate for hope.
