Hello! I have the 2023 G14 with the 4060 and love it! I did upgrade the SSD to 2TB and added another 16GB of ram for under $200 . I can game with no issues and really like the portability of it as well. I feel for the price you get a lot IMO. Thanks for the review!

Best video out of all the reviews! I just have one question: does it get SUPER hot? like, if i use it for video editing, simple vids and nothing TOO extreme, does it get extremely hot or is it bearable? And what if i use a cooling pad, does that help?
Its hard to find a review of the G14 7735HS model, which is a rebranded 6900HS (last gen). The other 2023 G14s have heating and overheating issues. I suspect the 7735HS solves these problems by using a better optimized CPU. Can your model run at Performance and Turbo modes comfortably? Or do you need to reduce the power like with other new G14s? Do you think the CPU makes a difference here?
Thanks for watching!! Honestly, I ran into heat issues across all power profiles (Performance, Silent, and Turbo). I ended up trying some manual undervolting to reduce power to help. Given the heat, the gaming performance was still solid tbh--I just found the heat concerning from a longevity perspective.

Didn't test the battery extensively, but I think both laptops are pretty solid! About to put up a review of the legion slim 5, and I actually slightly prefer it overall! Love the OLED display on it.
Hi, thanks for the video. Did you use the Asus software on the laptop to tweak your voltage for the undervolt? I know the model with the 4060 has the software on the laptop and I'm hoping this lower end model has the same. Thumbs up for sure, well done video.
You can undervolt with the standard software on any AMD/Nvidia laptop (RyzenMaster for CPU and MSI Afterburner for GPU). That's what I did after following some other tutorials online!
What would you say the battery life is when doing basic school work and how loud are the fans when in idle or doing things like web browsing. I want to be mindful of my fan noise when taking notes in lecture.
There is a "silent" power plan mode you can run under! This should mean that if you're only doing basic stuff like web browsing, note taking, etc. it should run perfectly silent :). The fans should only spin on if you kick open something intense like a game, photoshop, etc.
@@zyzzuschrist3410Yk idk if the the 4060 is worth the extra 200, with 200 you could upgrade the ram, storage and maybe get a cooling pad. I personally am a casual gamer and dont run 3A title games so the 4050 is MORE than enough for me. Also as soon as I saw the 900 dollar deal I leaped at the opportunity. I ended up deciding in the end to return it and go with the Lenovo Legion Slim (14.5inch, Nvidia 4060 GPU) and it was the best decision ever. Better display, lower temperatures, and amazing gaming performance. Thinking about putting up a video talking about the switch :)
@@kahliloppenheimer Please do. I'll be traveling at the end of the month and I've literally been going back and forth over whether to get the Legion Slim 5 or the G14. I like that the G14 is smaller and the RAM is upgradeable but the temperature issue really has me concerned. I usually carry a 15-inch backpack when I travel. Is the Legion still small and light enough to throw in my backpack?
@@dees21984 the Legion Slim 14.5" is actually lighter than the G14 (despite being a teency bit bigger). If your backpack can accommodate a 15-inch laptop, it can definitely fit the Legion 14.5" and I'd strongly recommend it! Should hopefully be able to get a full review up in the next week :)
