Flying John O Groats to Lands End for charity (Paramotor Flight Against Alzheimer's Highlights)

- The John O Groats to Lands End challenge has been attempted by many over the years but very few by paramotor. I set out to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK by flying the route.
The equipment I used was a Bulldog Paramotor with Vittorazi Atom 80 engine clipped into a Dudek Nucleon WRC 27m. Together I used these to run into the sky and fly for 34 hours, over 7 days, covering 790 miles! The conditions were forecast to be much better than they actually were for the challenge. I battled turbulent air from mountain flying, strong wind launches and landings, thermals, landing out, being sick and even crashing into a tree.
The importance of the challenge came from losing my grandparents 3 years ago. My grandad suffered from Alzheimer's for 13 years and my nanny with Vascular dementia. Dementia is not a part of getting old, it's a horrible disease that takes over and leaves just a shell of the person you once knew.
Alzheimer's Research UK estimates that 1 in 3 people born today will develop some form of dementia in their lifetime if a cure isn't found.
Please help by either sharing this video or, if you're able to, make a donation to this fundraisers Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraisin...

Fantastic well done. An ambassador to the community and a worthy cause.
Brilliant effort Dan, what an adventure!! And all for a great cause. Well done !!
Excellent Dan... truly excellent. This vid has everything and feel good factor a go go! Everyone is so impressed... your family must be so proud - and rightfully so! 😀
Respect Daniel on your unerring commitment overcoming many obstacles and challenges without hesitation. Also enjoyed listening to your Podcast on "Fat Paramotor Podcast". Well done. 👋
Hey dan it’s me Liam again and I love the vid! Good luck to you!
Got here from Golf Foxtrot 22s. I am amazed what people do. I am about to do training for a sup 70 (Like a Peabee) I thought it would be pretty adventurous to fly to other towns 100k away... Then I met DrPeteParamotor (his CZcams name). He flew South to North across Australia 3000 plus Km! That not being enough he is now trying to cross Australia west to East 3900Km !!! What you and he have done are turly amazing, I can't see myself doing more than a tenth of this, Well done 🙂👍
Great work.. The next adventure awaits.
So fantastic mate! Great to see you this weekend. Looking forward to the video!
Awesome! Well done Dan 🙌

Great challenge... Great edit...
A moving tribute to your grandparents. What a great thing to have done! channel crossing next?
Merci pour ton témoignage, j'espère qu'il sera suivi par de nombreux pilotes
Thank you Stephane, I hope so too. I look forward to seeing you in 2 weeks
Well done Dan! Your grandparents would be incredibly proud.
Brilliant effort and amazing amount raised for a great charity. Well done Dan and Alan Awesome work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, Congratulations! That's certainly amazing stuff. I don't think I could do it. The thing is anyone that doesn't fly doesn't have any idea how much of a challenge such a journey is and all the constant difficulties you had to face all the way.
Just come over to you from Giles's channel, great interview. Chucked you a sub, be really interested in the altitude attempt. Was hoping to fly into Wingland soon but it's at the very limit of my SportCruisers runway length but want to give it a try (did visit a couple of years ago but the grass was wet and I couldn't stop so didn't stay). If I manage to get in be good to say hi. Keep up the great vids Tucker, I mean Dan 🙂
Looking forward to your next video. Just saw on your GF22 video that you're making extra map boards. Are you planning on selling any?
👍
Brilliant mate I will be donating. And on the next one make sure you get me an invite I would love to do something like this. I would do it for cancer research if your up for it
Hi Dan,
Is there any way I can contact you about paramotoring and learning to fly them as I believe (from the location of your videos) I live very close to you, and would like to learn.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Ollie :)
Brilliant. wished someone dedicated his/her life to reviewing nano paratrikes. Most pilots can't run. Sad but true.
