    Just an FYI, don't use your spouse's $500 dyson vacuum for this job, put a liner in your shopvac. I use Blackstone griddle grease to season the grate. Occasionally repaint the lid with Rustoleum, high heat to prevent rust.

    Your drip tray liners are primarily being used upside down.. it would nice if the logo was displayed in the correct position or perhaps even a “this side ⬆️ “ instruction on the disposable aluminum liners?.. just a suggestion

    Did a proper clean even more in depth than this and just had a build up of pellets. Luckily I caught the fire as soon as it lit and saved the meat. Put out the small fire and now cleaning it again. Not sure why they built up like that after just eating it. I am cooking a brisket so it was going for about 8hrs before it went off. Do I really need to clean it halfway through a brisket!? What did I do wrong? They weren't cheap pellets. They are Traeger brand Cherry pellets

    Pro 780 - bought 4 months ago... I love the thing...but it's ALWAYS telling me the grill is not cleaned. I clean it all the time, and have followed these steps religiously, still tells me it's not clean and will not affect performance. My lid also has torsioned itself, so it no longer seats flush with the barrel. I have the cover since the first day, but maybe this is normal?

    I bought the new Timberline 1300, it was delivered November 25, 2019. Unfortunately it wasn’t working right, so we didn’t get to Traeger our Thanksgiving Turkey.... Since then, Nothing but issues! So frustrating! Now the local dealer where I bought it has had it for two weeks. They say it may be another week or two before the parts are in and fixed.... So I look forward to cleaning soon, but it’s been an unfortunate experience to say the least! Sad really! And 2019 Thanksgiving was ruined.

      I picked up a new automotive oil drip pan with 1” sides that I use exclusively for soaking my grate. A soon as I take my entree off the grill I place the grate (while it’s still hot) on the oil drip pan and add hot water with Dawn detergent. Within mins you can see the grease dissolving. I usually let it soak over night and then wipe it down with an nylon abrasive pad the following morning. After three years my grate is still like new. The key is finding an oil drip pan slightly or other flat container larger than your grill with at least 1” sides to hold sufficient water to cover the grate.
      For cleaning the grill body I use Members Mark oven, fryer and grill cleaner that I pick up at Sam’s. It’s reasonably priced and works great. It comes in a a twin pack of 32 oz bottles. One has a spray nozzle. Be careful of getting it directly on your hands. You can feel your hands tingle if you do. No big deal. Wash your hands or wear latex gloves. I spray it on and wipe it off with paper towels.

    • @themiddleearthcollector2785
      @themiddleearthcollector2785 Před 4 lety +4

      Ryan Bramich yes you can. It’s all natural so you don’t have to worry about it. They say it’s best to wash, dry, then season the grates with a little bit of oil when you put it back in. That’s after every use. That’s what I do myself. Hope this helps
