2020 Snow Plow - Plowing driveway with Chevrolet K2500

- Chevrolet Silverado K2500 (1997, V8 5.7l gas engine), with traditional steel link snow chains (not the best, but they work fine for this, and better than NO chains
- FISHER Minute Mount (v1!) Snow Plow
- Some bags of lime and fertilizer in the back for weight

Now that’s what plowing snow looks like! 👍🏼 maybe a little more momentum if the driveway is well known to throw those big banks back a bit farther. But everyone has their own style.
You're not wrong about throwing the banks back further: it ended up snowing a few more times like this, and I've had more & more difficulties with not having enough room for the snow. Thanks for the comment! 👍👍
@@yesterdayfarm5273 I hear you on that, finding the balance of treating the equipment right while still getting things clear as the season progresses can be a real challenge, great footage and thanks for the reply. We got more snow this year than the past few here in PA but it was the first year in about 10 years that I didn’t have to plow, oddly enough.

Yeah, this truck is still a good workhorse, but it IS getting a little old (and rusty underneath), so although it can still work, I tend to be a bit careful with it. Why didn't you have to plow this year, if you had all that snow??
@@yesterdayfarm5273 I normally was in charge of the yard at my job, clearing the entryways, roads and parking areas, but at my current job, they had other people handling it, so I only helped out a few times, clearing around the shop. I do plow at home but with a tractor with a bucket and back blade set up, but it’s not that involved, driveway, parking and path up to the hay shed

Sounds like you need another battery in that truck for the plow.
GREAT suggestion and observation! The even worse thing is, this truck even has the provision for a second battery, including an empty tray for it!! I've just been to lazy and cheap to put the 2nd battery in. 🤫🤫🤫
It needs to run off a deep cycle battery.
