    I’m not sure if I still own a book. Thank you for sharing this video.

    U should always rinse your rice before cooking! It’s better today than in the past but u should still remove as much of the starch/powder before u put into the pot.

    So I did all of this, plus added canned pinto beans in the ceramic pot to heat them up and add seasonings, but the thing never started its 4 minute count down and it burned my rice. Advice?

      Hi Crystal, If it never started the countdown, it means it never came to pressure. If you had the proper amount of water in there, it could have been that the black dial on the top was not flush with the unit and was allowing air to escape. Or it could be that the rubber seal that goes on the inside was either missing or not seated properly. Those would be my best "troubleshooting" advice tips. If it's none of those and the unit is not pressurizing at all, I would contact Pampered Chef Solution Center at 1-888-OUR-CHEF to discuss.

    Can you use broth instead of water?

    • @shelleybeach
      @shelleybeach  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you sure can! I actually love the extra flavor cooking in broth adds. With a pressure cooker, you just need liquid to cook with the steam.

    Is this rice instant rice or is it long grain rice?

    • @shelleybeach
      @shelleybeach  Před 4 lety

      Hi Tamra, This is not instant rice. Just regular long grain rice.

    Please rinse your rice using your hand to mix it as you rinse to remove the excess starch. Fluffy rice not sticky rice. Also small grain rice is much stickier.

      You may have needed a little more liquid so that the rice doesn't lay on the bottom of the steel insert. It gets super duper hot in there!

      @@shelbyh4942 however I think it didn't have as good a pressure because I think I went above the line but still came out good!
