The quick release button is designed so that you press it firmly once, let it go and step away. You don’t have to cover your hand with a towel since there is distance from the quick release button and the actual vent. The handle on top is designed so that you twist and open with one hand. You don’t need oven mitts to open the cooker. You are overdoing it. If it was an Instant Pot I would understand because the vent is the quick release you actually turn the actual vent on the Instant Pot but the Pampered Chef was designed so that you don’t place your hand anywhere near the vent.

I love my Quick Cooker. I've cooked just a couple of things but they came out Fabulous. I've done Red Lentils and Spinach. & Pot Roast. Both came out Great.
I cannot get the knob to go either way to say what its cooking such as beans etc. The dial turns but nothing lights up. I can tell the water is getting hot. Ive watched and watched and watched the videos but its not working. Ive had it for months and lost the guidebook which brought me to watching utube demos.
This never works for me. Just did this and the chicken was still fully pink on the inside, just not frozen anymore. I’ve tried it so many times on both the custom and the chicken poultry setting! What the heck am I doing wrong, maybe my machine isn’t working well?
Just an fyi dont let the steam under your counters it will ruin it.. and the steam isn’t hot.. and you don’t have to use towel to release the steam because it away from you. :-) happy cooking.

Hmmm. I'm not sure actually. I have never had it come out pink. I would reach out to PC directly. See if their support team can troubleshoot with you.
How do I set it to 4 hrs. It won't let me
You'd need to turn the knob until the little blue light is under slow cook. I just saw that today, but I was doing a quick cook instead (20 minutes)
