    In this episode of “In the Kitchen With Pampered Chef,” Sandy spotlights how both a slow cooker and a pressure cooker are fantastic "hands-off" cooking methods for those times when you have a lot going on, but still want to make a fresh, homemade meal. Deciding whether the slow cooker or the pressure cooker is the right tool just depends on your personal schedule and preferences!
    Slow cooking uses gentle heat to cook foods over long periods of time, which means that you can leave it for longer periods of time and come back to a nice, hot cooked meal. It just takes a little bit of planning to get your food ready to begin cooking earlier in the day. And if you just didn’t have time to plan? Pressure cooking is perfect for those last-minute meals when you've forgotten to take the chicken out of the freezer. No matter how crunched you are for time, a pressure cooker will cook up a delicious meal in a fraction of the time it would normally take.
    So, if you're looking for kitchen tools that will make your life a lot easier, the slow cooker and pressure cooker are both excellent hands-off options that give you a way to make delicious, nutritious meals for the days where you worry takeout is the only option.

    Hey that's a pretty good video and a terrific explanation of use cases between the two appliances. I have a suggestion. Between 4:44 and 4:54 you could've considered adding your water to the marinara jar, screw on the top firmly and shake briskly...NOW add the water flavored marinara to the pressure cooker. The result is a clean jar for recycling and you've used every ounce of sauce. It may not seem like much but it's definitely more efficient.

      yeah!! i agree no waste, paid good money for the stuff .she didn't do as you say
      because maybe she'd look a penny pincher, can't have that. what will my friends say, aye. she could have gone with a healthier no sugar home made
      recipe sauce than that gunk out of a jar as well = no glass to recycle

    The Crock Pot seems like a great way to leave for work and come home to quality food. That's why I love it and it's definitely a lot cheaper. :)

    We just got a new slow cooker within this year but if I hadn’t, I’d go for the PC one. However, at the last PC party I attended, I bought the pressure cooker. I have fond memories of my mom making Swedish steak with it. So delicious! So now that my husband recently retired, I’m going to.introduce the quick cooker to him. Just because we’re not rushing off to work I the morning, it may be to a doctor’s appt, etc. so using the quick cooker in late afternoon will be a big boon.

    Physics says that at higher pressure the water boils at higher temperature. So I would say less steam if any in a pressure cooker, also since boiling temperature is higher I wouldn’t say that nutrients are better preserved, especially those sensitive to temperature. Thanks for the video.

    Did you add any liquid to the slow cooker with the cauliflower & chicken recipe??

      Did not look like she did. Usually the manual says slow cookers need less or no water compared to regular stove top methods as some liquid, in this case from the cauliflower, will be created.

    So, if I want both, I can go for an Instant Pot, right? Because it also features slow cooking functionality?

      Technically yes, but the instant pots slow cooker function isn't that good. It doesn't heat the pot evenly, just from the bottom so it can lead to uneven cooking of your dish compared to just using a dedicated slow cooker.
      I love my instant pot but still use a crockpot to slow cook.

      The Pampered Chef Quick Cooker has a Slow Cooker Button and it comes with a slow cooker lid. I can give you more info if you are interested.

    quick tip: put water into marinara jar and shake it up to get all of the marinara out of the jar.

    Why didn’t she deglaze the pressure cooker after browning the chicken? It’s a VERY IMPORTANT STEP to avoid a BURN notice!

    I thought we didn't want it SMASHED? So could I have just used the pressure cooker?

      Smashed cauliflower was the goal. I learned fast that pressure cooking cauliflower turns it into an unpleasant liquid. You could cook the chicken first, remove after and place cauliflower. But with the delicacy of it I don’t know the time.

    It literally takes 11 mins to cook pasta on the stove. No need for pressure cooker in that situation.
