Not just the best touring car ever, best sound . Music to the ears. Saw these at Donington Park in early eighties , absolutely blew away all the opposition. Klaus Ludwig, was the driver then. Totally awesome. !

It shows how advanced that capri was, its faster than most things today.
Hut ab vor Peter Mücke und seinem Team diese Technik am Leben zu halten. Besorgt nur Mal einen Reifen für so ein Auto und ihr merkt was alles dahinter steckt an Aufwand. Und auch die Leistung das Ding zu bewegen ist aller Ehren wert.

Ich habe diese Autos und viele Rennen in echt gesehen. Am Hockenheimring war ich mit einem Presseausweis in der Boxengasse, direkt an der Strecke und teilweise sogar in den Boxen. Ich habe jede Stunde damals in mich aufgesaugt.

I saw that Zakspeed put that car on the market a year or so ago. Curious what it sold for. Based on the current state of the market for historic racers, I would guess it went for over $1,000,000 USD.

und es gab ne zeit, ein paar jahre nachdem die autos nicht mehr qktiv waren, da wurden die für nen appel und nen ei verkauft. hätte man damals zugeschlagen... mein vater war in den späten 80ern mal bei zakspeed, ich glaub um ersatzteile zu kaufen. da stand so einer auch unter ner decke, ich muss ihn nochmal fragen wieviel er kosten sollte aber ich meine 25000 dmark...

When I see stuff like this I really resent modern race cars. Especially modern GT cars where the showroom equivalent probably has close to the same performance and most likely a higher top speed then the race version. They don’t look all that much different either.
The street version of this Capri is nothing like this race version. That’s what’s missing in racing today.
It is a good looking car but i think the original works mark 1 Capris that had the blue and white paint were the best. Why did those Sunday drivers wear those horrible Pink Mercedes drivers coveralls. Please tell me they were new and not some Lance Stroll hand me downs.
