RFK Jr. tells young voters: ‘Absurd’ to call Israel apartheid state | Cuomo

  • A recent Quinnipiac Poll shows independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is drawing 38% support from voters age 18-34, more than Joe Biden and Donald Trump. So, what is his message to young voters who oppose the war in Israel and call the nation an apartheid state? It’s "such an absurd twist and perverted twist” on reality, Kennedy said.

I was really in the rabbit whole trying to find more about him. I really liked everything he had to say until I came across this video
1, the fact that you think the youth is misinformed says a lot about you sir. We live in an information era where everything we can research and see any information we need. We have seen journalists on the ground of GAZA showing us what is happening
    2. The fact that he considers criticizing the government of Israel = anti semantic says a lot about where he gets his campaign money, which makes me to believe everything he says about the economy, the middle class and peace is a hoax to get younger voters and he is also playing on the fear of the community, he claims BIDEN and TRUMP are doing.
I am so disappointed, I really thought we had finally found someone who will be a voice to the people but it turns out we the people still are on our own.

So his father was assassinated by a Palestinian man when he claimed his support for Israel in 1968 when they began massacring the population and forcing them out of their land. I'm a supporter of RFK Jr. In quick, random order, here's some of my reasons for supporting RFK Jr...
-genuinely wants to unite the country, and he has the ability to, being liked by many different 'types' of people from across the spectrum of issues and ideas, who are tired of the 2-party duopoly
-calm, humble, has integrity, has courage, truth seeker in general, thinks for himself (not a DNC/RNC puppet)
    -not phony
-thoughtful and introspective and deeply considers problems and solutions
-wants to get us out of 'forever wars' and to pull back on and expose the military industrial complex
-wants to pull back NATO and resolve the Ukraine problem via negotiations
-wants to get rid of 'Citizens United' and the power of the big private money into government
-vocal about putting an end to corporate capture over government (pharma, banks, oil, military industrial complex)
-vocal about dishonesty and agendas of commercial media
-wants to abolish all pharmaceutical advertisements on television
-wants to keep the pharmaceutical industry honest with safety testing, transparency, etc
-wants to get rid of government assist crony capitalism and subsidies for big ag, oil, etc
    -advocate for civil liberties
    -vocally against censorship
-against mandates and police state-like policies
-classic liberal sensibilities with respect of others, without the 'woke' craziness or fake identity politics
-vocal commitment to transparency regarding FBI, CIA, NSA over-stepping and out-stepping
-passionate about environmental and ecological concerns
-wants to close the border (this is not some republican scare issue, it is a very major issue - for many reasons)
-has an excellent plan to make homes affordable for all, including a program that backs mortgages at 3% and a tax structure to keep Black Rock from continuing to buy everyone out (this also will bring rent cost down dramatically)
-due to his family/background, he's well-learned from the inside of the various power structures
-due to his decades as an attorney successfully taking on major corporations, as well as government regulatory corruption, he is exceptionally well-suited for taking on the myriad of corporate capture over our government (and the policies which ensue)

All those difficulties are happening just because you are not jewish. That is apartheid which has been confirmed by Israel own and international human rights organisation. We're aware that Palestine is not a free country, it's not a democracy, and it's not safe there to be a dissenter or gay or Jewish etc.
But that doesn't excuse the awful loss of life, much greater on the Palestinian side than on the Israeli side by order of magnitide.
The fact that Israel is a democracy and these places are not, does not make it okay for them to do this.
We should absolutely NOT give Israel our full unwavering support.
Hamas is evil, but Israel has killed more innocent Palestinians, so what does that make Israel?
Why are so many people afraid to accept this fact? It's insane to me

What will happen tomorrow if they cease fire now? The job is not finished. This problem has been going on for 35 years..." "Israel says evacuate civilians leaflets through media give them opportunity of 20 days to evacuate but they didn't. They still give shelter to Hamas. In this case Israel is not responsible tor any harm that happens to civilians..."

What you didn't mention is that Israel is our strategic military ally i and provides network of info. and launchpad for the US into this area, which protects Americans there and also keeps the conflict there, where it started. Hamas has vowed to wipe out all Jews, then all Christians -- this is NOT our friend. It's a horrible shame that Palestinian citizens are caught in the cross hairs.

The whole world is full of shit, but everyone is pointing at the others, forgetting about their own history. The stronger ones wins, that is what I learned from you Americans. There are thousands of Hamas fighters and supporters there, Palestinian Islamic Jihadists, Palestinians that are helping Hamas ( read about kid doing lookout for Hamas, for ex). Homes, schools and hospitals all have weapons. This is an urban jungle, not a battlefield where you can clearly distinguish between terrorist and civilian & polls show most Palestinians support Hamas. There are 500 IDF soldiers dead as of New yrs eve, 3000 wounded, many seriously with loss of limbs, eyes, TBI. I like his position on most things, but honestly this one is a very skewed account of reality. Journalists that have spent years covering this are very clear on how wrong RFK’s position on this is. To deny Israel as being an apartheid state is just categorically false, and things have only gotten worse since this far right nationalists government took power. It does not take a genius to get a better understanding of this situation. Ask the Ethiopian Jews about their experience in Israel. Ask Arab Christians about it. Ask Palestinians that were forcibly pushed off their land, and out of their homes by Jewish settlers that often are assisted by IDF. Ask about the peaceful protest in 2018 that saw thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians shot and maimed, and hundreds murdered by IDF soldiers. Ask about the thousands of Palestinians that have been wrongfully incarcerated without charge, including children. To pretend that the Israeli government hasn’t terrorized these ppl is just ignorant. Ask about how the government treats the Orthodox Jews that speak out against the horrible treatment of the Palestinians. Look into mowing the grass. Hell, look into any of this, bc what he’s saying here is Zionist propaganda. I’m afraid RFK has been compromised (at least on this), which is honestly really upsetting

He founded Children's Health Defense and i truly believed he cares about children. But with this interview, he does not even condemn the massacre of children in Gaza! And he seems blind to Israel's colonial occupation of Gaza that is the context behind the rise of Hamas.
He says "Israel is a free nation, a democracy" - come on! Israel is a surveillance state that controls its citizens using technology. This is absurd!
I definitely condemn what Hamas did to Israeli civilians. But Israel's carpet bombing of Gaza killing more than 11,000 civilians, half of whom were children can not be justified in any way! Where are your humanitarian and democratic principles, Mr RFK Jr? Such a shame!

That being said they have killed 5590 Palestinians between 2008 and 2020 compared to 251 Israeli's being killed in the same period. None of this is acceptable under any modern understanding of democracy

Mujama al-Islamiya later became Hamas before Intifada-I was launched in December 1987. Israel considered Mujama al-Islamiya and its successor organisation Hamas a lesser evil as compared to PLO and thought that dividing Palestinians will serve the interest of Jewish state. If Israel termed PLO a terrorist organisation and a major threat to its interests, Hamas was also against PLO because of its secular and nationalist outlook. That is how both Hamas and Israel were viewed as natural allies against PLO. But, later on when Hamas in 1988 killed two Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) personnel in Gaza, Israel turned against Hamas but it was too late. Hamas, which earlier labelled itself as a welfare and charity organization in Gaza and got favors from Israel, changed is tactics and exploited PLO’s peace process with Israel to gain popular support of those Palestinians who were disillusioned with Yasser Arafat’s mending of fences with the Jewish state despite the killing of hundreds of Palestinians in Intifada-I. Israel and Palestine: a story of modern colonialism
The foundations of Israel are rooted in a colonial project that has modernized its face but continues to subject Palestinians to military occupation, land dispossession, and unequal rights.
The first European Jews landed on the shores of Palestine and established early settlements in the 19th century. In 1948, Zionist forces systematically took over the land, expelling people from their homes and relinquishing many to live as refugees in isolated enclaves.
According to Israeli historian Ilan Pappe, the forced displacement of Palestinians amounts to ethnic cleansing.

Bad analogy - RFK Jr. saying if Cuba sent a single missile onto Miami we'd be in there in an instant. Miami is not an occupied territory where people live under the control of an occupying country, treated like strangers, lesser humans, in their own land. Is it any wonder that Hamas is reacting against the aggressive colonial settlement project being committed against the Palestinians by Israel? Kennedy says Israel erected the Iron Dome to protect themselves against the worst attacks since the Holocaust. This is such a one-sided, non-historical perspective and I can't understand how Kennedy, obviously a very smart guy, would say this stuff, given the ongoing destruction of Palestinians' right to exist in their on land, but driven out, 700,000 of them just for starters, in the creation of Israel in 1948. Kennedy implies that Hamas is not protecting civilian Palestinians since they didn't build bomb shelters and he claims that Hamas uses civilians as human shields. He then characterizes the student protests based on an understanding of why Hamas attacked and calling for a ceasefire is in fact a tsunami of misinformation and moral bankruptcy. What planet has Kennedy been living on? I was in the Peace Corps in Somalia when the 1967 War broke out & I experienced how the Moslem & Arab world feels about the forceful intrusion into their lands of the Zionist project of driving out thousands of the original residents and inserting a new state with no connection to the area, which started this whole mess. It is untrue that Israel is the only country in the region without a state religion. I really want to vote for Kennedy but I lie awake at night profoundly troubled by his perspective and that he has so little compassion for or understanding of the situation. I'm not sure I'll be voting for him due to his ill-informed stance. It gives me concern for what his foreign policies would be. I am not in agreement with his assessment of the Ukraine situation either. It's untrue that there are no Jews in Gaza. Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan & Tunisia are considered to be democracies according to this assessment by the Swedish IDEA, and Israel is considered to be a weak to mid-range performing democracy. www.idea.int/gsod-2021/africa-middle-east Where does Kennedy get the claim you'll get your throat slit if you're Palestinian and you criticize your government in the West Bank, Syria, Lebanon or Jordan? I feel like I'm picking up on something fanatical in Kennedy's outlook and it's profoundly disturbing to me.

These terms are used as if they are supposed to be bad. Settling has happened since the beginning. All over the world. Where do you think Jews came from? Hard to be a settler to return home.
Where do you think the people in the strip came from? Or the West Bank? It takes a very long time to properly research it all. Otherwise, people are just speaking the same rhetoric that is given to them.
I find it very suspicious when a nation responds to a massacre, the largest one since the holocaust committed on the Jewish people, they are immediately condemned. This rhetoric, once again, started immediately following October 7th.
They were hated for always being stateless, and now they are hated for having one.
Maybe look at the history of the terrorist attacks on the Israelis in at least the last 50 years. Look into the Palestinian leaders who worked with Nazis. They just can't ever win to some people. Can you imagine what Israel would look like if they didn't have the iron dome? The thousands of rockets. Self-defense is a right. With IDF support, many Jewish settlers are going through the West Bank, threatening to kill Palestinians for their land so the settlers are able to build their own homes. This is displacing and seeing the death of tens and thousands of innocent Palestinians.
I understand it is the largest massacre since the Holocaust and it’s very upsetting. I am personally for peace. But I find it strange how many people including yourself don’t know that the IDF for nearly 6 decades have been oppressing the Palestinian people including killing and assaulting, keeping them in an open air prison. Did you know Palestine doesn’t control any borders. The IDF control what goes in and comes out of Gaza.
Now I could imagine what Hamas would look like if netanyahu didn’t fund them…In order to keep his position as PM, he needed a campaign to run on and that was to keep Israel safe from Hamas. In order to make sure there was a Hamas, Netanyahu funded the terrorist organization. For Israel to be labeled this defensive shield, with advance military technology to keep the people of Israel safe, netanyahu and the IDF failed. They are reacting to their unfortunate event the same way the US after 9/11 and we all know how that worked out for us (terribly). All Netanyahu and IDF are doing is destroying Palestinian homes, land, and killing innocent women and children without a care in the world(war crimes) in hopes they get one Hamas terrorist. However, the terrorist are in tunnels, under the ground. They just raided a HOSPITAL because they “had intelligence” that there was Hamas HQ under it. They found 10 guns… raided a hospital for 10 guns. ALSO the real leaders of Hamas are in Saudi. I’d love for you tell me why nobody is going after them…
I’d advise you to just do some research, you’ll see whatever you’re listening to on cable news is IDF propaganda. I feel for the people of Israel, they are going through a lot of pain and suffering, unfortunately the people of Palestine experience that everyday by the IDF.
