Moe Norman also a character and highly revered ball hitter by other pros....though he practised hard. He slept on a course bench at Augusta. Titleist claim he was only player they tested that put zero spin on the ball. Once hit 6 pins in a round. Let's face it...the sport really needs these characters.

My biggest take from this is his mental game. He just seems so relaxed and present for each shot. Even on bad shots, he saw a positive solution to prevent a high score. I get way too frustrated on bad shots and my expectations are delusional for the reality of where I’m at in the game.

We gotta remember we are playing a game. I got so frustrated with golf I gave it up for a year and a half, now even when I slice a ball into the water it puts a smile on my face because the next shot can't be any worse, and as long as you're out there you are getting better.

I play the game to be in the moment. It’s totally relaxing being outside hitting balls in the water or clanking them off trees, or even creating a 3 foot divot just to have your ball roll inches in front of you while the chick in the drink cart shakes her head and the grounds crew looks on.
I love the game not because I’m good, cause I am so bad. I love it because of the memories with friends and family and being outside.

It happens to all of us and a reminder of how humbling this game is. New equipment takes a solid month or more to adjust. Not sure if you ever been fitted before but I have twice. First one was terrible and the equipment was all wrong for me but how would I know. The second was done from Club Champion dialed in with that track man. Mixed bag later, I thought everything would be solid.
Come to find out all the bad habits I had from the previous clubs were still in the new ones and had to adjust and trust the process.

Big John Daly always the crowd favorite when it seemed the old guard wanted him to just go away. But the fans couldn't get enough and when everything lined up on the worlds biggest stage long John Daly could blow the field away. John Daly being John Daly was always enough for his fans and no matter how he played or behaved, he could never do enough to silence the haters.

I've played with a lot of hackers and he's dead right. Too many think muscle and killing the ball is how it's done and they really hurt themselves. It's the opposite. It's relaxed, fluid and smooth, and making consistent contact.
