I get the urge to play Star Citizen when certain aspects of Starfield annoys me, such as when traversing anywhere, or exploring. And I get the urge to play Starfield when I get annoyed with Star Citizen's completely lifeless questing system or gameplay loops. With that said, they're almost like two games in a similar setting trying to do different things.
this is very true
in a way they're kinda complementing each other. virtuois cycle of playing one until you want to play the other, then repeat. makes the wonder of playing them for the first tim come back a bit when you switch!
Star citizen has just one thing to do: flying ships
No matter how immersive star citizen is for me, the fucking lag and constant crashes and disconnects, makes it unplayable. Bethesda should have been able to make a single player version of star citizens though. Has the money, has the people and also had the time. Star citizen has alot of issue because everything must be integrated in a multiplayer universe. I dont believe it would be too difficult for devs with experience to create a proper singleplayer counterpart. But they got lazy with starfield for some reason
Starfield is like COD or Battlefield, which is more casual player friendly, and Star Citizen is like a milsim like Squad more hard-core.
I like the whole idea of Star Citizen not even being done yet, and still winning in certain categories against a complete game from a big studio.
The thing about Starfield is that even if its finished, you will never complete it, it doesnt end and with the community(like Skyrim) the game will just be.
So far its incredible, loved both games but stop playing Star Citizen after half a year, like many shooters out there...
Starfield is so underwhelming, I'm really disappointed in Bethesda this time
@@Gocksthrall skyrim is still relevant because the overwhelming love of the game, but i seriously doubt starfield will stay relevant simply because of the fact that it will never have the same amount of love or passion people have for it like skyrim. starfield is a massive stepback from skyrim imo.
@@GocksthrallYup you’re crazy if you think Starfield will have skyrims life span. Skyrim came out as an innovative praised game. Starfield came out already outdated.
yeah but star citizen has a far larger budget than starfield, like 10 times the size plus its been in development for similarly long at least starfield IS finished
I play both and enjoy both for different reasons: Play a crafted story in Starfield or craft a story in Star Citizen.
That is a very healthy way to look at it!
Hes not selling it as that, though, is he? Lol
lol @ crafted story in starfield
I make no claims of quality by stating that Starfield has a crafted story. I'm simply stating that there IS a story that was crafted. As with all Bethesda games, some of the stories are better than others. @@numberonedad
Yeah starfield has inspired me to get star citizen
Every time someone mentions Star Citizen's ships and gunplay, I can't help but remember that video titled "Star Citizen: The war for Jumptown".
If anyone is interested in why Star Citizen is beholden as one of the incoming greats in gaming, watch that.
was about to comment the same thing, love that video, usually my way of convincing friends to buy SC consists of showing them that video, and som ship trailers : )
I think Nezar made that video his story crafting is super good
I hope SC will work better after some years, but what's wierd to me is that so many want it to fail. Some friend of mine just want it to fail because people spending money on it. I find it weird behaviour
It's the old Star Wars: TOR mindset in that people just like to see something with large budgets fail. But let's be frank here, Star Citizen is way too big to fail. Even if something disastrous happens in the near future, they'll just find someone else to continue the project.
Nobody wants star citizen to fail but we see the writi g on the wall..they bot off more they can chew and they keep lying to their backers
Crabs in a bucket
Maybe some people have been paying into it for 8 years, and feel scammed that the game has no official release date and has server wipes
Same argument could be made sc is too big to succeed
As always well done LvlCap. For me Star Citizen is the clear winner. And my love/ hate relationship with it can shift minute by minute sometimes. But there is just something about logging in, getting out of bed walking to the elevator, taking the tram, retrieving my ship taking the elevator, boarding my ship taking off then leaving the atmosphere and warping in real time to another planet or moon and all that was with zero load screens and for the most part theses days with little or no hiccups.
100% this...
ya dont forget ur 10 bugs and glitches and 40k errors until u get to ur hanger
The game isnt finished (:
Starfield has made me want to get back into Star Citizen so bad. Both are very good games, but the more open exploration in Star Citizen still amazes me each time I play.
I though the same then i went sc and my game crash then when i restarted i went to a moon and was complety empty so sc is the way but is not ready jet
@@IsraelSocial havent had an sc crash in weeks .. dont really need plants or creatures -- they never really amaze -- but maybe in a year or two yes
What exploration? Literally no gameplay mechanics, just wander around and maybe find some rock or w/e they put down. If game doesn’t crash, if doesn’t all glitch out your ship cargo hold etc etc
@@PutYourQuarterUpGaming you mean seamless solar system wide exploration with multicrew ships explorable on every level and multiplayer servers - new item persistanace server wide.. if you drop an item it stays there forever. I am blown away at companions and relationships. If SC gets that functionality it will be bliss
They've hinted at that stuff like crew you get to know better, and a shadows of Mordor type enemy system.
Still no sign of it like 5 years later but they've talked about what they wanted. If I take you out to try mining I might get tracked down by an NPC pirate I sent to jail 2 weeks ago.
The respawn retcon helps that too.
I really hope they try to make good on those plans.

I feel like this is the game that fills the gap that was between star citizen and no mans sky
SC being the high end sim space rpg and NMS being the minecraft of space games
I can see lots of inspo from both games in Starfield tbh, space combat kinda like NMS but detailed ship interiors more like SC all wrapped up in a easy going Bethesda game, it’s nice
I love that you mentioned the expanse. Fun fact. I worked on Season 5's opening titles. So the though that you possibly have seen my work gets me giddy!
Pretty fair comparison overall I'd say, definitely more so than a few others I've seen so far. That aside I gotta say starfield's ship customization has made me realize what's sorely missing with SC's ships. Of course we'll never see modular shipbuilding in SC but goddamnit, I want to paint my ships in custom colors and decorate them with decals, but all SC offers is a few premade skins for real money that most other people also fly around with.
Skins will almost certainly be their income when it launches
A few pre-made skins for real money? No... I got my Arrow's skin from New Babbage for 45k credits. Didn't spend a dime on it at all
@@Star-Gazor yeah, even fewer skins to buy for ingame money, the large majority is found for real money only on their website and they also offer limited time exclusive skins several times per year to get your fomo going. The interesting part about this is that they originally advertised a coloring system just like starfield has, there's even footage of that buried on their youtube channel, but I guess they conveniently forgot about that so they could sell skins.
More than currently planned ships visual customisation in SC is for me very important! Yes please CIG.
Lego "ship building" ala SF no thank you... architect in me can't decide if to laugh, cry, or just vomit
@@Uncanny_Mountain skins will be buyable with ingame currency. Though I'm sure they aren't going to close up the shop whenever the game officially launches either.
this is crazy. I have been watching so many Starfield videos and in the comment sections you always have people saying "I played Starfield and it just made me go back to Star Citizen/No Mans Sky"
I am playing Starfield and I can see why. It is just a run of the mill Bethesda game with loading screens all over, glitches and basic Bethesda quest. The biggest different from all their old games is the shipbuilding. that is literally it. Making your ship is also pretty cool but that takes you so far. I can't believe it but I am going back to Star Citizen after I am done or get bored with Starfield.
Star Citizen is 1000x better when it works, but it doesn’t work 99% of the time.
Regardless they are two different games.
Edit: I shouldn't have to explain this but "1000x better" is hyperbole...
i think right now star citizen feels more like a space game but im sure through time after years of modding starfield will become better

Glad you did this in a tongue and cheek way. They are entirely different games but do have some overlap. If anything SF has made me 100% more excited for what SC can do in the future.
Pretty solid video - tough games to compare, you did a good job.
Finally a comparison video, overall the game directions are different but i want to see different approaches to space game problems. Also good to compare hows things would work in a single player setting (starfield) and multiplayer setting (star citizen).
Quests for example, bethesda quests can range from simple foraging to deep story missions, fully voiced but they are basically curated and on rails. Star citizens quest approach are pretty barebones, but their general directions allows for player interaction. For example, I can interrupt opposing players if I happen to stumble upon their ship, and vice versa. It turns a regular retrieval mission into a fps match. I know many are not a fan of that kind of gameplay, many want to be just left alone. So theres starfield for that. Of course, we want all that both games provide in 1 game, but shit takes time 😂😂😂😂
The main difference with how Star Citizen handles quests is they are sandbox quests, not RPG quests, not story quests.
You yourself have to create your own fun. You yourself have to make the story. You are the adventurer, not your character.
Star Citizen's quests are not (within developmental reason) "bare bones", they're sandbox quests.
e.g. Your character is a pirate who freights illegal commodities for shady people in order to save for their own ship to
ambush others as they go about their own jobs. 'Cause they grew up in that high-risk illegal environment.
But, you made that story up. Not the game. You had that freedom. The game didn't tell you what you can be.
Star Citizen gives you the tools to play how you want to play. Playing starfield makes you a tool.
MMO space sim vs single player RPG. Other than both taking place in a futuristic interplanetary setting, this has always felt like a strange comparison to me.
Given that they share the most similarities than any other comparison currently out there, the comparison is appropriate. The reviewer notes "apples to oranges", which is good to point out, however there really isn't a game as similar to do a side by side with now so we get this type of review. It's far more appropriate than SF vs. RDR2 or SF vs. BG3 - which there are plenty of videos out there doing this.
@@wbseestho I agree that it's probably the comparison that makes the most sense, it's still unfair due to their approaches
I wanted to like Star Citizen. I really did. However, the game is sooooo boring once the initial "wow" factor wears off (within the first couple of days). There's just a general lack of content that makes the game feel lifeless. The same is true of No Man's Sky. Yet, STARFIELD, on the other hand, feels like it is full of things to do from the moment you begin playing it. Yes, there are some things missing that I would have liked. However, it's incredibly addictive and never is it truly boring. I played SKYRIM at least five times. I've completed the main mission and all of the side quests. Yet, I feel like I discover something new with each new playthrough. The same seems to be true of STARFIELD. That's the quintessential basis for a fantastic RPG. More than visuals, limitations or simulation, it's just inviting you to become a part of that world. That is what STARFIELD does for me. I think that I will be able to play through this game at least five times -- and all five times will be different and interesting.
😂
RPG vs MMO different game styles, you should give BG3 a go :)
@@lint3067i LOVE BALDUR GATE 3
You forgot a huge one.
Star Citizen reflects humaninty having cities. Even though they aren't interactive as much, Starfield boosts at best small villages with a few hundred npc's. Where as Star Citizen makes it feel so immersive you feel like you belong to one of those cities.
Bethesda dropped the ball majorly on this one. The United Colonies should have been one mega city planet. Rather it's a small outpost with luxurious detail that offers citizenship to people who serve after 3 years. What a freaking joke from RPG immersion!
I'm looking forward to your comparison between Starfield 2 and Star Citizen alpha in 2030.

Thank you for making a fair comparison, bringing both pros and cons of both games.
A lot of people that mostly focus on one game trying to compare it to a new game tend to oversee cons they're used to and highlighting them in the game they're not, so it's nice to find someone who can see both in an unbiased light.
Remember people, you're allowed to enjoy both games, you don't have to pick one. That's the beauty of this whole thing
I just want to be alive in time to enjoy star citizen as a whole, completed game.
Starfield has made me tip my hat toward star citizen on what they are trying to achieve and as big as bethesda is, it has put things into perspective for me a lot more clearly. I like starfield, its fun but im readily eager for star citizen now.

At least ships are free in Starfield ..
@@Cyb3rFck They are in SC too.. Most people i know spent $45 dollars and have a hangar full of ships they bought with in game $
Playing starfield made me boot up star citizen again. Just the dream of what star citizen can be I thought starfield was going to be closer too. Atleast flying the ship from surface to space, for the system requirements I expected more. Now I'm happily playing star citizen it has greatly improved in the year since I haven't played.
It can be fun but if it crashes, the morale & motivation is crushed.
Star Citizen feels like it takes place 200 years later in the same universe.
If you don't mind telling me, what settings do you use for Star Citizen to achieve the 100+ fps... Well at least when the game wants to give that to you anyway.. and also what is your hardware so I can possibly compare or if needed compensate in areas my rig might be lacking.
Please and thank you
it's weird that ppl comment off the title of videos before watching. Great vid lvl.
So in conclusion, it really depends on what you're after. The fact an ALPHA version of a game is better from certain perspectives than a brand new and completed game in nearly the same genre from a AAA studio really has me hyped to see the final full version of Star Citizen and I'm confident the single player coming out is going to give the studio a big infusion of cash to get more people onboard to take on the simpler, but time consuming effort of debugging things and polishing things up
I own both games I can definitely say that Starfield actually delivers the emotion and depth of the events taken place in the game. Even though the load screens are annoying on pc there 5 second load screens. Star Citizen 90% of npc and quest givers dont work theres no life or emotion the game gives besides other online players or how beautiful the graphic side of the game is. I can say one thing definitely raged harder in star citizen then starfield 😂
for cloth i m curious if starfield one have some protectino against cold and hot temperature on planet like sc too?
Two completely different games. Tough to compare but honestly good job:D
Star Citizen is a game that has remained on my periphery since 2014. It's a game that I check in on the news of every few months or so. I have never donated a dollar nor will I until they officially exit alpha at the very least. Starfield is to scratch that space adventure itch while I wait for Star Citizen to finish (and prove it ain't a bust or scam).
Your grand kids will love Star Citizen... I personally enjoy playing it as it is. It's buggy , but the overall gameplay just feels unmatched for a space sim. Look forward to it improving even more in time.
So you’ve never played star citizen?
I was the same way. I remember hearing about the initial plans for the game when I still lived with my parents in a different state.. Now I've been married for 5 years with a kid and another on the way and about 6 months ago I caved and bought a game package and have been hooked consistently ever since. I bought dual sticks and 3 32in curved monitors specifically for that game. Even made some pirate friends and goof around with them weekly. I let the negativity surrounding the game prevent me from having this much fun for years and while I don't necessarily regret waiting this long (ive played a lot of other good games and met cool people in the meantime) I definitely wish I had started playing earlier.
@@peggymoexdexactly the same. The game needs to be experienced.
It’s a lot of fun man, you should grab a starter ship. During the free-fly events the starter packages go on sale.

Thank you so much for this video. I believe it could've been longer though. You still managed to cover alot and not just downplay starfield. Most just trash starfield when comparing it to other games without covering everything other than landing/taking off. Both games and NMS are all great yet they all have flaws. To see someone not being biased is quite refreshing. Thanks
Yep, I'm a big SC fan (when I'm not cursing it😏) and I can't wait to play Starfield. I have to upgrade as I'm just below minimum specs. Played NMS 'til boredom set in. Starfield will probably have the same fate for me as NMS but I'll enjoy in until then.
Both are good. Then there's NMS as well.
I hope SF fans can apreciate that we have so many good options to choose from and there's no need for hate toward one game just because someone is a fan of the other
Scam citizen
lol its funny you say that because ever since the game launched its been the other way around. Star Citizen, NMS fans, and Elite:Dangerous fans and Sony fans have all been hating on Starfield. I wouldn't consider myself a "fan" per se, I just like playing the game.
I'm really enjoying Stafield so far, the only thing I wish is if they optimized the series X for 60fps. It's at 30fps right now and it definitely would be great for my eyes if they increased it
I had to delete it because of the 30fps….couldn’t stand it
This was exactly the sort of video i was searching for. Thank you
If both company’s came together to make one game just mix both of these together it would be by far one of the greatest games ever so far
Not realy. Its not like Sc doesnt want to do what Starfield does better. Its just work in progress. The complexity of a no loading Screen world with such modern tech makes things that seem easy for a game crazy difficult. If SC keeps up with their Innovations one day it will win in all categories. They already achieved techs considered milestones in the industry and its still far from enough. Creativity is not the issue here.
Bethesda is so bad. They would drag down SC
We just need a game that has starfield+star citizen combined
we're fine as is man
no we dont, we dont need no shitty rpg lvls in SC it is good as it is
Squad 42
"we *just* need" no we don't.
Star Citizen will blow everything else away, main reason people say there isn't much in Star Citizen is because they are only playing 1 game loop, but the other reason includes they haven't filled the planets and moons yet with Flora and Fauna, once they do that people will have endless changes everytime they do a mission on a planet or moon with random creatures having the chance to wonder by and attack or run from you.
I view the games to be more different than most I suppose. One being a persistent mmo the other single player focused. For me both games scratch a different itch and isnt necessarily a substitute for the other if that makes sense.
Sorry to dissapoint you, but that's exactly how most people see the two games.
@@skaggeragg Not disappointed at all, at least by what most people think.
@@TerraWare its definitely what most think.. but you'll still come across people (even in these comments) that try to compare Starfield to NMS or Elite dangerous too..
so it turns out in theory you could go all the way around the planet in SF, what is actually holding it back is the way they set the render area, where SC follows the player SF is locked to the ship. This was likely done to keep ram consumption down so that the Xbox could play it. its only a matter of time before someone figure it out. That also might mean that in atmospheric flight is possible but we won't know until someone mods it to do so.

Meh, falling out barely happens. Forgetting to put a helmet on however? Yeah
I love the timing of your: "it's also not trying to be a polished product...yet" npc proceeds to disappear :D
Both games fill different voids for me. Starfield has more that can be done with your control of how your story plays out, where in star citizen, you make your own story as you go along with your friends, and the exciting mechanics are never predictable when there’s 100 people on each server you could come across at any time
Very informative and correct 'point of view' video, hope there won't be conflicts between the both sides, playerbase.

@@Broken_Orbital I agree, I'd say I enjoyed outer worlds more for what it offered, it felt completed. While starfield was enjoyable it definitely felt in a lot of areas underbaked, like just 1 example being weapon variety, you have a laser skill and yet there are only 3 laser weapons in comparison to the 27 ballistic weapons, in a lot of other areas it was the same thing, it just seemed like they stopped development suddenly.

I actually do agree with all your points and like @ethnine2692 said, I get the urge to play Star Citizen when Starfield seems too basic with all the loads screens and less traveling and exploration feel, and then I get the urge to play Starfield when Star Citizen gets annoying with needing to rely on friends and player to bring excitement and purpose where Starfield has a fully flushed out storyline. But overall playing Starfield made me revisit and appreciate Star Citizen even more and get back into it.
You need to do one about No Man's Sky and Starfield. I own both and I ALWAYS tell people, those two games are ao different if you actually have more than 50 hours in both of them.

It's amazing to me how many people have said "wow, Starfield makes me truly appreciate what Star Citizen is, and what it will become" even if I also agree that Starfield has more in common with Cyberpunk than SC
The more I watch starfield content, the more I want to hop on Star Citizen... but I'm trying to hold myself back cuz I got papers to write and can't risk getting hyper-immersed for the next 8 hours.
As someone who plays Star Citizen every day, who's favorite game(s) for over a decade were the Mass Effect trilogy, spent hundreds of hours in No Man's Sky, played Eve for a spell, etc, its a great time to be a space loving gamer. I do think the comparison between Starfield and Cyberpunk (probably my 2nd favorite genre) is much more fair rather than against Star Citizen, but someone had to do it. Honestly I think I enjoyed Cyberpunk more than Starfield especially on my more recent playthrough with a mod collection installed. Starfield's downfall for me was the lack of iMmErSiOn from the load screens and not being able to fly when I please. I got over it, and I did love the game a lot when I played through (I did all faction quests, got all powers, romanced, numerous side activities, made outposts/ships, and played through a good chunk of NG+) but I'm already back on the PTU of Star Citizen, and probably going to play through cyberpunk again before Phantom Liberty drops.
I am not upset with any of these games and only hope to continue to get more dystopian/futuristic/space games pretty please! Keep em comin!
Basically, if you want to be "the chosen one" you want starfield. If you want to be a dude in space you want star citizen.
Great analogy.
@@hawkzulu5671 I can't claim it. I believe I heard another creator say it. I can't remember which one if it was Rurikan or maybe SaltyMike. But I did hear someone else say it first.
Starfield is just getting better through mods, but that can only go so far
Star citizen will just keep getting better until it can't anymore
so the moders cant add landing and take off like star citizen i mean remove the loading screen etc ?
"Space Sim guy compares a space RGP vs Space Simulator"
One is a served burger ready to be eaten, if it tastes for you or not is a different story. The other one will be a burger probably one day but you got some of the ingredients right in front of you to try them.
NPC standing on furniture, classic SC bug in Starfield?
There's one thing that kind of got glosed over in ships, and I think it's a really big factor between the two games. In starfield, you can spend your time customizing your ship and placing down little doodads here and there in filling out armor stands and what not. But the moment you change your active ship, all of that customization gets shoved into the cargo bay. By contrast, in Star Citizen, if you drink a lux energy drink and toss it on the floor of your cockpit and then store your ship, it's going to be in that ship until you decide to pick it up off the floor. What, you like living like a pig? Clean up your room! As buggy as it is, Star Citizen takes a huge win in inventory management and just remembering where you put things down.
@@samharold69 its just another factor towards immersion. As many have said, comparing the two really isnt fair, as they are two very different types of games. But because they're both set in space I suppose it had to be done. Starfield is definitely just a single-player, story driven rpg thats set in space and they did it well. Star Citizen is a multiplayer space simulator. When you play a sim you value immersion over most things, and being able to clutter your ship with the option to clean it up weeks later contributes to that. Personally its neither a pro or a con for either game. Starfield wasn't going for the type of immersion that SC aims for, and if you go into the game with that understanding, its much easier to enjoy the game how its intended to be enjoyed.
EDIT: but also with the bugs in SC I'd love to see someone keep the same ship long enough to actually be able to clutter it considering just landing the wrong way can blow you up, resetting everything inside of it.
Yea to the normal player tho this means nothing lol
An then a wipe comes along or a bug that means it gets reset anyway
I love claiming a ship that is filled with bodies crammed into the bathroom. It reminds me of the adventures I had the previous time I logged in lol
Ah, didn't know that. Guess I won't spend too much time decorating my ship in Starfield. Then again, I seldom have a ship long enough in SC to decorate it. RUD's, bug's and wipes mean I'm usually flying a fresh ship each time.
love the video but not sure how you could move on from the ship differences category without mentioning the most important thing imho. the loading screen between inside/outside in SF vs SC.though you did mention it in immersion :D
I would love seeing a custom ship designer in SC one day. I think it would add a more pirate or prospector ship style alternative to the clean and arcady premade ships' style.
they are working on a modular system but i doubt there will be a designer system..
Star Citzen three years ago was still better than released Starfield. lmao
I believe once StarCitizen gets it’s full release and fixes all the bugs then SC will become THE space exploration game.
My grandkids might get to experience it lol
Keyword is once.
It’s gta in space that’s it
That is our hopium
It’s gonna be THE space game, not just exploration. There are gonna be so many different things to do
Depth and nuance of a starfield quest had me in stitches ngl
I can’t wait for legit mods for starfield, to have to option of fast travelling or travelling manually. Mostly because ive played other space games and flying in “hyperspace” is just sitting and waiting to arrive and gets tedious, but having the option would be great to 🤞🏻
IMO, any comparison is moot. These games are so very different that I don't think it worth trying to compare them
Overall I agree but you can compare certain aspects of them since they have similar settings and mechanics
Yeah in one I can have parents and in the other people can scream at me for 20 min
@@kuzzbillington6392 I doubt it's a scam since the things they've done excel far beyond anything anyone else has managed which takes a lot of money. However it'll never be able to live up to expectations if it even manages to fully release
@@kuzzbillington6392Star Citizen costs les than Starfield
SF took longer and cost more
Very comparable
I have spent thousands of hours in Star Citizen and began to notice something strange would happen that I'd never experienced in a computer game: I would log in to the game, get out of my bed, walk over to the Hab's door, pause for a few seconds and then log out.
I'll probably reinstall SC when the Pyro system and Server Meshing become reality, but for the meantime, I'm very much enjoying Starfield.
Burnout is real lol I played elder scrolls online for over 10k hours from early access launch up until 2019 and then one day just decided I didn't like it anymore. Getting married and having a kid probably didn't help xD. I still make time every night for gaming but haven't logged in since then other than to see what's changed for no more than an hour a handful of times.
I've done that in a lot of games, lol. And I've never put 1000's of hours into any of them. Says a lot you did that many hours in bug citizen.
one of the best comparison video i've seen
I see they both have people standing on tables and chairs! Must be common in the future when we achieve space travel XD
just because you don't fly your ship through space in Starfield, you should already lose to Ko, StarCitizen is better
Interesting comparison. Like you, Im' really looking forward to NPCs being more instrumental in SC giving quests, and having more purpose to travel to random locations on planets/moons to discover/recover/retrieve, as I believe that is when SC will truly shine.

It is not wise of you to use “keyboard warrior” as an insult 😂
@@Uncanny_Mountain if you think anybody has to prove any estimate regarding SC you are wrong, its the other way around CIG needs to prove that they can do what they promised and atleast go alpha after 11 years & endless missed deadlines and features, instead of still being pre-alpha & Squadron 404 is still nowhere to be seen...
They are both in space other than that not the same, but I am going to play the crap out of both games. Your comparison was right on and I would like to see one in 2 years!
Yes, I totally agree :D it feels bad that you can't leave planet without cutscenes in starfield :D
I would like to see this same style video with comparisons between No Man's Sky and Starfield.
1:08 which ship is that?
Weird comparison. Star Citizen is more of a simulation, while Starfield is a single player RPG. It’s like comparing Mario Kart to a racing sim.
u must have not heard him say "apples to oranges" 12 different times
I mean, much of the same shit still applies with SQ42.
I can RP in SC wtf you saying?
At the end of the day I stopped playing one in favor of playing the other. In terms of “best use of my time and entertainment”… any two games can be compared. And like it or not SC fans are paying very close attention to Starfield. So who cares what the game developers “intent” was. The only thing that makes the comparison silly is one of the games is an alpha buggy shitshow that’s barely a game yet.
And yet they're both the closest things that exist to each other.
Well one is a game with a beginning middle and end and the other is a tech demo, so there is that
If by comparable, you mean doing one thing really well, and either half-assing or not even trying with almost everything else, sure.
@@TheRedJadex nice description of SF
You know “tech demo” is significantly misunderstood by people when used as OP has used it. lol
Tech demo 😂😂 you do know demos don't have much in them as alphas do like for content 😂😂
@@neflennefleflen3973Not sure when complete, actually released games like Starfield became tech demos, but sure.
Good video, but a big miss right off the bat for people who don't know: Star Citizen's ships are fully present in the continuous, seamless instance you play in, with no loading screens anywhere. So, when you are walking around inside one and experiencing its features you are in the exact same instance (for now, as Server Meshing is not online yet) as a player walking around in a weapons store on another planet in that same solar system 40 million km away. In contrast, Starfield has a loading screen for everything, even entering some shops in the same section of a small city area; when a Player "load screens" into their ship, the game engine is loading a new instance, a new map essentially, for the interior, that _was not there at all_ when the Player was walking up to the ship to enter it. Star Citizen's ships all have to have everything about them fully loaded in the game world continuously including all their internal spaces and features, since there's no loading screens for entering and exiting them; their internal components (that _do_ function in the ships' system-of-systems designs) have to be "present" and performing their functions "live" too, since they are removable and swappable in-game using hand-held tractor-beams, and the replaced component will provide its "features" to the ship's systems immediately upon power-up. Then, coupling that with the fact that every ship and vehicle in Star Citizen will let you spawn them, board them, interact with them, lift them off, fly around the full-modeled planet's atmosphere and up into space, quantum-travel to another planet / moon / space station and go all the way down to landing in a city or by a river or on a mountain or whatever, with *no* loading screens the entire time, and the level of difference in the technology used to create ships between these two games becomes apparent.
some shot around 12:24 make it hard to say at first glance is it is NMS or starfield
I vastly prefer single player RPG experiences. If all you want to do is fly around a few planets with your buddies and enjoy some PvP, then more power to ya with SC. But for me, that will never compare to games like Cyberpunk or Starfield. It's also worth noting that Bethesda has by far the largest modding community in all of gaming. Give Starfield like a year or two and you will be flying around planets in an X-Wing shooting at giant mechs.
I think you can boil it down to Starfield is more accessible while Star Citizen is overall a deeper game. Starfield works if you want less of a curve and more narrative elements, Star Citizen works if you want a hardcore space sim. I definitely find Starfield more fun at the moment due to the accessibility, but Star Citizen is more stunning and down the road, looks like the more appealing game as they continue to add onto it and stabilize it.
I REALLY want to play both games. Unfortunately, I need a new computer first, as my current one isn't piwerful enough for Starfield. And before I spend any money on Star Citizen, I want Star it to be finally released (ie not Alpha or Beta). But I doubt Star Citizen will ever be finished.
I think squadron 42 would be a better comparison as it’s a narrative single player experience like starfield whereas SC is not. I’d like a revisit once sq42 is released.
"One is a completed game, one is in alpha." LOL !!!!!
Star Citizen isn't finished yet either, SF has a ten year ROADMAP
"FINISHED" means whatever the keyboard warriors want
Sounds like these two games should’ve worked together and made the best space game ever
