My absolute favorite thing that I did for free on my recent trip to NYC was walking the High Line through the West Side. I went early in the morning, it was freezing, but I dressed in layers and went to explore. I was alone, so I just put headphones in and admired the beautiful street art, and architecture, and once I got to the end (I started on the Hudson Yards end), I got lost in Greenwich Village, it was a very peaceful experience, I didn't want to leave. Highly recommended.
What is the high line?
@@DavidAnuszewski It is what used to be an elevated rail line that runs from Hudson Yards south to the Meatpacking District. They have turned it into a walking path above the city, it has a lot of street art, great photo spots, gardens, and it lets you see all of the different architecture on the west side. I highly recommend it!
I did the same. It was awesome. I live now 20 years in MY and finally got free time to do a tour. Awesome
Thanks for sharing this, will put this on my to do list. Walking and just experiencing surrounds is one of my fav ways to relax. x
I know you are not disabled, but could you do some tips/tricks for getting around NYC in a wheelchair, please? Thanks!
NYC is so not wheelchair accessible, it sucks!
@@AdorableAcushla I think there is like 1 or 2 subway stations with the elevator access to the street but I could be wrong. Busses have the wheelchair lifts that part I do know and there is hotels with elevators. AS for a lot of other places in NYC I am not sure. I know Boston has a lot of wheelchair accessible areas in their subway stations.
Mike Farnham m
@@JakeSVanHfan damn that sucks, where I live there's an elevator at every subway station
@@aliciaeberle7501 it's because 95% of stations we're built before 1935 when a elevator wasn't required when a station is built.
Ahh your videos are sooo helpful! I’m flying on my own to NYC next month to study.
Writing everything down! Thank you!
They changed the "pay as you wish" policy in the Met (the Natural History museum still has it!) and now it's only for NY state residents and New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut students.
Yes, went to NYC last month an the MET is now 25 to 35 dls...
Yep just saw that as well, students from all over the world have a discount tho
The museum of natural history now is charging a fee. 23-33 bucks for adults .
@@margut2830 Not true. It's pay what you wish for general admission. However, if you want to go to any of the special exhibitions, you have to pay a set fee.
What i have to bring to prove that im a student?
Staten island Ferry!!! Cruise New York harbor, goes past the Statue of Liberty, and totally free!!
Yes true!
Don't you got to pay $3
Trenyce’s Troubles
No. It's free.
@@SarahFunky Hey I don't know how much will change through this Pandemic. But I would appreciate if u could help me learn N.Y. Comparing N.Y. with Houston both cities are large. So I'm used to being in a big city. Once I learn N.Y. it shouldn't really be that bad. Hopefully u could help me out.
Love your channel! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and tips.
Great tips! I’ve taken advantage of most on your list and it’s a great time. Other free things: The Highline, NBC Today summer concerts, tickets to tv shows, Staten Island ferry, Saks holiday light show, etc. Found you today and now binge watching your vids specially with summer around the corner. Great job and thank you!

Great tips 👍👍 excellent 👌👍
I was so pleasantly surprised you used the Backstreet footage! I was in New York that week, but I had to leave the day before the concert!! 😭😭
Thank you ❤️
Nice videos😄! btw your makeup is gorgeous😍
Thank you!
Sarah, I loved your Video (this video) So much that this is the 4th time watching it. I am from NY, but moved Out in 1996 and I don't know what's going on in NY anymore. A lot of things have changed After I left, and some are still the Same, I guess, but I was inspired by your video to Go Visit.
Thank you for sharing these ideas! I will definitely write them down in my NYC-travel guide to be able to experience them one day!

GREAT VIDEO
I wonder why you didn’t mention The Highline. It’s free and such a great experience.
The Highline is the best! I lived in the city when Highline Park was a rickety unused elevated rail above the West Village filled with overgrown trees and intrepid squatters.
I got to walk it this past December for the first time. I kept coming back. It was one of the best things in the best city! Night or day, absolutely beautiful.
What's the Highline?

+Edson Alcon Gracias! Que bueno que lo disfruto y les gusto la informacion- lo hago para ustedes ! Hay se subsribe!
Thank you for this!
One of my favorite "free" things that I always tell visitors to do is to take the A/C to the High Street station and walk BACK into Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge. Sure, the subway isn't free, but if you're visiting you might have a Unlimited Ride MetroCard anyway.
@Kris Paul 👏
Thank you very much sarah your such a baddie😊😊❤ im visiting nyc for my bday in april
Have fun!
Fantastic........ Anything In Newyork for free........ Is Awesome👏✊👍
Thank you!
I like the pay what she wish tour option I always thought about taking a tour
I participated in free yoga classes at Bryant Park pretty much every week during summer and I loved doing yoga there!:)

Can u pls make a video on interesting places/ free places u can visit in Queens.
Very great video. Enjoying the info and the energy. Many great things in your future. Jeremiah 29:11
Love love love your channel. I'm a new Yorker and I didn't know half of this thing.
Thank you so much!
Hi Sarah, love your vídeos! Im in NY right now and you ve been really helpful.
Just one thing, is the MOMA and the sience museum really free? Because i went to the met and payed to get in
Hi sarah
Love your videos, its helpful. What can tell me about the city pass?
can u guide us Brooklyn and Queens ?
I went to NY in 2019 and spent a total of about $1000 USD over my 3 week stay. I was staying with relatives and ate in for most meals so majority of my funds were spent on endless shopping, 2-3 dinner outings, my ride to NJ and DC and the Metro. I did so much and didnt spend as much. Went to so many public museums, Staten ferry ride, walking about Manhattan and central park (rather than taking Uber or the chariot rides), saw all the major monuments in DC, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Times Square, State Building Tour, Kayaking, High Line walk, and so much more.
Heading back this December with all these new ideas and a whole new itinerary in place! You dont need alot of money for a great time!
Live out here and have to find things like this.
Free! My favourite price!
We did Movies In the Park in Chicago pre-Co-Vid. I attended one screening two years ago. It was in a park across from where I live.
The MOMA is only free on fridays
Love the tips, Bryant Park and Free Kayaking were particularly good for us :) MET is no longer pay as you wish for foreign visitors though...
Oh that is a shame. Thank you for letting me know about The Met!
Yes yes sipin on orange juice.
This is great! Thank you for posting these. I hope at some point to visit NYC in the fall. Too bad it looks like most of the free stuff happens in the summer, I’ve always just liked going anywhere in the fall to avoid the big crowds and you’re hot. Whoops, sorry about that.
Very nice
Great video! Where did you get your gray coat? I love it!
I have a video suggestion:
The best things to do in NYC with a... comfortable budget.
Free stuff is, obviously, great but for quality, unique experiences what's your advice?
Cheers!
Alex Ferr The place doesn’t make it a great experience, it’s who you get to experience it with.
OMGiGi I’m from nyc as well and I’m so excited to find another nyc CZcamsr I feel like we are so underrated!!! Loved this list! Have you heard about pier 17 getting a Malibu Farm?
Great video. Also, I love your white and grey scarf, may I ask where you got it?
Well done.,👍👍👍❤️❤️
New Subbie 😍
Thank you so much for your great videos. I am coming to Newyork Next year on hoilday and have gotten so many great ideas now, so thank you. I haven't booked tickets yet as I'm still wondering if I should go to Newyork in the summer or winter? Which do you recommend?.. I was goin to do L.A. also? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated ❤️
12:19 Nice bit of an English favourite there. Love Colman's mustard. It is also made about 2 hours from where I live. :)
