- (25 Jun 1978) President Ceausescu of Romania arrives in London for a four-day State Visit to be greeted by Her Majesty the Queen and other members of the Royal Family. On the second day of the visit he meets Prime Minister Callaghan at No 10 Downing Street.

Look at him waving. Guess he forgot they are not forced to wave at him in England.
What's there to criticize? He was a communist leader and was used to being waved at. Expecting him to behave like a westerner when back then the world was polarized a lot more than today between the east and west is kinda strange. Also, i'm pretty sure non communist leaders wave too.

The people came there to see the Queen not him. Why would anybody want to cheer for a criminal buffoon that ruined millions of lives? The Queen knew very well who he was and what he did which is why she disproved the visit. But unfortunately for her she was not in charge anymore at that time.

All of the countries that have sent sanctions towards Russia just got even worse economies. So yeah, let's see what the future leads us to.

Ceausescu was better than any politicians Romania had after 1989, nevertheless how sad it is that King Michael was replaced by Ceausescu after Yalta
King Michael was not replaced by Ceaucescu. The Romanian monarchy was illegally abolished in a coup d'etat, ordered by Stalin and carried out by Romania communist party leaders, Gheorghiu Dej and Petru Groza, who forced the King - in a palace surrounded by troops, with the phones disconnected and threats of reprisals to students already arrested - to sign a document of abdication on December 30th 1947. Ceaucescu only became a significant party leader in the 1960s.

Really?? Is this a leader of a sovereign nation who represented a party which came to power ( 1945 - 47) through fraud, violence, terror and with the protection of the occupying Red Army? Romania ceased to be a truly independent sovereign nation following the illegal coup of December 30th 1947. I wonder what the thousands of Romanians who were persecuted, imprisoned and killed in the camps, and in canal region, and in the mountains, would think of your 'proud leader' and 'sovereign nation?
By the way there is no such person as the Queen of England. England is not a sovereign nation. She is the British Queen.
