Well, Ceausescu was received for defying the USSR invasion of Czechoslovakia. Little known that Ceausescu would become Kim Il-sung of the Balkans.

The president was obssesed with having no outside debt,so all the imports stopped and export became a national emergency. People would work more and harder for the same low salary, the stores were empty.food was rationed and cheap.the factories were becoming outdated technologically and by the time Romania became the first debt free country,in early 1989, people excpected things to go back to normal, but the president kept the things going as they were and by the end of the year he would of been taken down and shot as the people have had enough

The people of România were working for the better future of the COUNTRY, not themselves.. And that is something extremely important, valuable, and respectable. Now with capitalism overrun through our state there is nothing more but greed, all for me and none for anyone else mentality. Now, only now after the fall of our great leader Ceausescu ON CHRISTMAS DAY 1989, god damn christmas day, was he shot by the Russian infiltrator and hellspawn Iliescu, who came into presidency and sold the whole country to other nations for his and his lapdogs own interest. I assume the British only got through eating a very small propoertion of the strawberry numbers needed to settle such a bill. It was also claimed that Her Majesty the Queen in London found Ceausescu to be somewhat 'peculiar'.
