I decided to apply for the IHG Premier Credit Card for 1 main reason: I wanted another hotel credit card that provided an annual free night certificate. Moreover, I wanted to receive that anniversary free night award roughly at the time as the one from my IHG Premier Business Credit Card (I was approved for that card about 11 days prior). In other words, the goal is to receive 2 IHG free nights every July / August. Rather than waiting another year until July 2023, I decided to go for the card now to see if I could get an approval!

1. The credit score for TU should still be 801 (not 809) and the credit score for EQ should still be 822 (not 824). Those 2 scores did not change.
2. The inquiry count for TU should still be "6" instead of 5.

Since you have BOTH IHG personal and business.
Do you get the $25 united travel bank on January 1 from BOTH cards? So $25+$25 = 50$ United Travel bank on January, and then that happening again in July?
@@iGimmie - It's my understanding that you can only use the benefit from one card (even if you have both the personal & business). I only received one $25 TravelBank Cash award on 1.29.2023.

@@MarkReese The thing is that right now I don’t necessarily want anymore chase cards, but I think it’d be a good idea to farm some chase business cards for a few months while I assess if I should get anymore chase personal cards. It’s just hard to sit idle and wait for that time to come! I won’t be out of 5/24 jail till January 🥲

@@annicks7385 With Chase, if you've opened 5 or more personal cards with any lender in the past 24 months, they will automatically deny you for your next card application (for the most part). It's an annoying rule to avoid, but we have to do it unfortunately..

Perhaps in the future, but no longer in the short term. I qualified for A-List status, so the SW credit cards are irrelevant right now. Not looking at any more Chase cards right now, or any cards from any other issuers. Time for a break.

@@aaront936 - You don't need the Hyatt card to make transfers from Chase happen. All you need is a free World of Hyatt account & you can move Chase UR points over whenever you like.

I check the 'from' email address and make sure it's from a legit domain that corresponds to the bank / issuer.
@@MarkReese I do the same. So much spam comes in that looks legit until you open the from email. Just be careful. They could look legit but be off slightly.

I signed up for this card in December and was awarded 140,00 points yesterday. I called today to see if they would bump it to 175,000 points and they said the could not bump it up. Any ideas on how I could get them to bump it to 175,000?

I have a question? Do hard inquiries really matter? I want to apply for more credit cards but I hold myself back because I don’t want so many hard inquiries on my report. However, I would assume since you apply for a lot of different credit cards often, you would have a lot of hard inquiries on your report.

Hi Carlos - inquiries matter & don't matter in different contexts. They CAN matter with some banks that are sensitive to them (e.g. Capital One, Barclays, potentially Citi). Note: newly opened accounts can be an even bigger issue with these banks when trying to get additional approvals.
Inquiries can also matter if you need to have the highest score possible to qualify for the best rate possible for a house, car, loan, etc. (this is because inquiries often lower your score temporarily).
However, they DO NOT matter nearly as much - at least not in my experience - with other banks that aren't as sensitive to them (Amex, Chase, others). They also don't matter much if you have no need to preserve the highest score possible for a moment in time.

Anything going on with Chase+IHG? IHG Cards are not on the chase card website if you browse all cards. If you google search you can find a chase page with the cards, but no apply buttons.
