Why does her daughter continue to tell her Mom the negative things her father say about their marriage, UNBELIEVABLE!! She seems to always put Dad in a negative light, and bring Mom this NONSENSE!! They’ve been together for over 50 years, daughter LEAVE THIS ALONE!! I think you may need to focus on YOUR HUSBAND, and YOUR MARRIAGE, leave your parents ALONE!! I do not take any pleasure in saying this, but I do not like her husband. I have seen him, and he is very dapper, but he is not nearly as nice as his wife. She's a sweetheart! I would NEVER last with a man with his bad attitude towards women!
I agree. For the person that said he doesn't disrespect her, his whole attitude towards her and women shows disrespect. His words are foolish. And in her time women were taught to deal with whatever a man did. The movie Fences yells it all. And this lady has just learned to adapt to his behavior and that's really sad. Sounds like these are words he has repeatedly said to her back in their younger days. Read between the lines. This isn't a Happy fulfilled marriage it sounds like it's one sided.

I prefer to look at the positive side of this, and that is she is a woman who distanced herself from him emotionally and loves her children more than him. He, ultimately, is getting what he deserves: he is way down on her list of people who are held close to her heart. She is honest, loving and holds no illusions. She did what she had to do, and I love her for it - as I am sure you do too. And for a 95-year-old man, no disrespect to their children, his words, actions and beliefs are foolish and without depth. He is pretty sad to be that age and not realize what he has had all of his life and to live in ignorance.

She has an understanding. I can bet that he has been so disrespectful to her in the past that she has resigned to not care. As she said, he is going to do what ever he wants to do and nothing she would say to him will ever matter. As a matter of fact, he said on camera that he did not say "I do" at their wedding. He said "I wii" because he planned to do whatever he wanted to do. Her 95 year old husband needs Jesus and he never grew into manhood. He is still a foolish little boy. Ms. Carrie, you don't have to be disrespected. But I appreciate your honesty and candor. Marriage should not be a relationship of convenience.
In a nut shell. Her husband has been a cheater but she figured that she would not leave as long as he didn’t disrespect her. So she couldn’t worry herself with what he was doing. She found herself a lil something on the side as well and she seem to be fine with that arrangement.

Different people accept different things.many things can make a marriage not a good marriage but just to let him do anything in the marriage no I wouldn't accept that.
That's the majority of marriages I've seen starting with my parents. Very few have been truly beautiful, like my sister and brother-in-law's marriage and one of the Deacons from my old church. Now that is the marriage I'm praying for.
Ms Carrie has worked through the complexities of her relationship (not marriage). She has accepted the reality of the relationship. She knew from the beginning that she was not in love with him even though she loved him. There is a big difference between being in love and loving someone. There are times that a marriage is no more than friends with benefits. There are many times that a man will marry a woman because he knows that she will be faithful while he is married but acts like a single man. (Having your cake and eating it too.) He does not expose you to his single life as it exist neither does he let his girlfriend know about his married life. There is also the man who manipulates a woman into thinking that he is a good man when he is scum. Women you don't have to take this. Women, you are better off being single. Leave the knucklehead to do what he will. Learn to say "I don't care."
Ladies, move on. You deserve better. You deserve to be happy and you can be happy when being alone.

Please let Carrie enjoy the life that she has left and stop questioning her in this manner regarding cheating etc. Please ask her about the wonderful life that she has led and all of the experiences that she has had in her employment, traveling and raising her children. Why do all the questions have to focus on cheating. Carrie and her husband have been together for well over 50 years. Stop bringing up the past or whatever negativity is going on now. I knew that at a young age that you can't stop a dog from being a dog. I never tolerated it until I lived with my I thought a good man and friend. Time we bought a home together, ALL HELL broke loose. He was quiet and so called kind, like she said, he was the CHEATER and Narcissist Devil.

She's already let her daughter know that there's no love lost for her daddy. So, she should let it go. He's told the daughter in so many words that he had his fun and will still try to have fun as old as he is. Many marriages from their generation involved infidelity on both sides; with the man starting the cheating first. Then, the women eventually cheating with someone, too. However, some women quckly learned that women aren't built like a men emotionally and stopped or left the marriage. I've scene this in many older couples, who stayed together regardless of years of infidelity. They remain married, but they ABSOLUTELY didn't care what their spouse did; as long as it was kept out of their home and faces. But, most of men still can't handle hearing "their wife" is cheating or has cheated. So, there's always been a double standard for the woman. I'm not saying this is okay either way, because infidelity is being disloyal and disrespectful to either spouse. It shows that the guilty party has no integrity for their marriage.
However, there more completely independent women after her generation; who saw what very damaging fallout of those marriages "in name and home only marriages." It was an emotionally nightmare for many the children from those type marriages. Some of us, made a conscious choice not to ever get entangled with cheating boyfriends, let alone get into a marriage that may or may not have been happy as well as, mentally and emotionally healthy. Many women now are not going to put up cheating; the first time.; because we don't have to do so. We already know, how it will end. Many of our parents taught us that life lesson.

I’m definitely staying single cuz all I got out of this is be willing to ignore cheating in the marriage. She’s blessed if he’s never brought her home any diseases. I wonder how many broken homes have been created with his Hedonistic and selfish way of thinking.
