    Yay! Another Ravenworks user! Andrew and Michael are amazing at what they do. I’ve got their other custom Ravenworks Digital, in a piano black gloss and gold Art Deco styling. The absolute best keyboard. The upgrades Andrew and Michael do to the keyboard make it a completely different instrument compared to the VPC1. Well worth the investment. Great video!

      I played that keyboard you’ve acquired at their shop- it was a magical place :). Congratulations to you

      @@thejacevekexperience love the color of yours too!! They are gorgeous. I checked their website recently though and it looks like it’s not up anymore. Did they stop doing the Ravenworks upgrades?

      @@akiyamamusic So in a recent email with Michael Spreeman, he went into great detail about the tremendous amount of precision work and cost that goes into the creation of these modified Kawaii VPC ones, into the custom edition ravenworks keyboards that you and I are lucky to have.
      Between the time of craftsmanship and the materials that go into the inside of them, challenge further by industry standards thar restrict the usage of certain metals, They’ve decided to stick with their models that are in the inventory for now.
      It’s just so exciting to see what they’re building in Arizona, and the legacy This is become of craftsmanship, artisanship, And service artistic professionals - for which Michael and Andrew share a passion that stays centerpiece in everything they do…

    Ravenscroft was my first VST piano....and I use the Kawai VPC1.... I was not impressed with Ravenscroft. Don't know why. I also don't really like Garritan CFX either. I settled on Pianoteq. I enjoy the tweakability of it and the continuing updates Modarrt puts out to make it better. The small footprint of the software around 50mb. I use two sound sources...4 speakers...and pianoteq allows me to assign room mics to the speakers behind me...which I love.

      @daylespenzer feel you. Truthfully dayle it’s such a situational thing…. The material… the purpose… the function. And truthfully , “the feel “. Some of the stuff I do, this piano wouldn’t fit- but where it does, it’s very much a great thing.

      Pianoteq is rough - I'd never be satisfied with it personally, at least for classical.

      @@maulcs Try it again....I know that when I first found the pianoteq demo...something was telling me it was cheap...just because they were allowing such a good demo for free. It's a psychological thing ...I believe.

    A lot of options but no adsr? or just full sustain control? Probably on with sustain is too much and off is too little or is it playable?

    • @thejacevekexperience
      @thejacevekexperience  Před 2 lety

      Hi Robert, No Adsr? Or full on off sustain? No mid range sustain? The keyboard is a controller, the functions of Adsr and sustain are dependent on the vst instrument plug-in being used... so yes in that regard, it’s fully capable of all those things

      @@thejacevekexperience i am thinking of getting the ios version. So lack of sustain pedal is no problem for Ravenscroft?

      @@robertsteinberger5667 well for full transparency I am quite unfamiliar with the iOS version... but I can tell you Michael spreeman (founder) takes his work with serious passion, that being said I would expect quality.
      However, that being said, in theory “sustain” just like any other cc control in a daw is an automatable parameter.
      I couldn’t imagine piano without some sustain unless of course the music called for that .

    Rewatching this. If it means anything to you, I think you're making a an extraordinary content, it has sort of transcends this sort of value paradigm you know in that like it you know it's like if I were to try and you know monetize or participate in the monetization of it it would be so asymmetrically you know I'd be like well maybe I should you know thousands of dollars yeah I just think you're making like some of the some of the best stuff on the CZcams there and for people who play you know keyboard or piano whatever and yeah it's cool to yeah to see him you know someone making a I don't know like long videos that actually have like you know like it's not just the fantastic playing you know but it's like it's just cool to see you and your studio with some wicked equipment you know and obviously just immensely knowledgeable and and also just the same completely and at home being yourself you know and I don't know man it's that's it's it's it's be hard for me to really overstate or I guess that's not true but like it would be a difficult to actually convey how sort of radical I think that is you know because so much of the content that people make the stuff people are making which is great but it's all it's a bit you know it's packaging it's sales it's branding it's it's about virality it's about epidemi epidemic and I was really a pandemic sort of reach you know you want the thing to be infectious you know in a sort of perverse convergence but yeah I just you're your videos you take your taking as much time as as you need not to say they're not edited really you know but but they don't sound like perfect but you know I mean not to not too bad you know everyone always thinks I'm just saying s*** to sound all like whatever sweet cake about it which isn't the case I just I really sincerely hope you keep making these man I know you said your friends maybe thought you were a bit nuts or something for making them and if it means anything that from a random person on the internet who like loves the piano and music and painting poetry people really you know I I did yeah I find your videos you know uniquely radical and and sort of just participating in this sort of radical sharing that was that was part of the the sort of early internet thyroid so anyway man yeah I really hope you keep making them because Derek there really are like these they're exquisite artifacts but also it's just there's such there's such a radical openness and you seem so comfortable and you're not it's just like not a sales thing it's like this it's something beyond that and I think that's that's really something man you know so anyway thanks a lot and cheers
