Good content. I enjoy your KLX300 stuff (I own one as well), but this KLR content is entertaining as well. I almost purchased a 2022 KLR (runner up), but ultimately chose the lighter weight of the KLX for offroad reasons.
I was running the quiet core on my KLX300. I swapped it out with the more high flow core. It’s definitely louder now but I noticed more low in performance. It now lugs down low much better.
I be was on the fence for about a year, finally just said YOLO! The more I ride the boat anchor , the more I love. Once broken in , I’ll put it through it’s off road test.
Great work! I'm enjoying your modification videos for both the KLX and the KLR. As for the longer muffler, I've seen too many guys but short, stubby mufflers then end up burning up the rear ends of their bikes. I'm glad to hear this gave you a noticable performance boost
I'm eyeballing that 8" delkevic on my 22 Adv...my main concern is my morning commute and this bike firing up at 5AM. Will my neighbors hate me with that exhaust?
I think those 8” are ultra loud! If they make a quiet insert, I would definitely get it. Even on a long ride, super loud pipes can drive you crazy even with a helmet on.
@@kcoutside7143 yeah...I keep coming back to that. I'm annoyed because I just want an exhaust that slightly emphasis the sound but not one that makes me want to take an aspirin every time I fuel up. 😐

I get an occasional backfire on deceleration. I have same pipe on my KLX300, when I disconnected the PAIR (smog)valve on the 300, the backfire stopped, I haven’t tried it on the 650 yet.
Thanks for helping me put mine on. I heard a couple BRAP BRAPs when decelerating, it was awesome, and I’m glad people can hear me now.

I lost 9.4 pounds going with a lithium battery. Still have the stock exhaust on my 99 though. Bought it new almost 25 years ago now.

It looks like you could cut about 30mm off the mid pipe which would bring the muffler back 30mm so that would make it look abit better.
Right on! Last week I cut about 20mm off, it now has clearance, 30mm would probably be even better!

Thanks! I purchased the lithium just for weight savings. I’ve been using them in all of my bikes for 4yrs. They have performed great with no issues!

Can u tell me what bash plate you have on your KLR? Looks sharp!
Do you still have the original front fender on it or is that something different?
2021 KX450 fender. Bolts right up. I put two 1/16” washers on rear bolts, between fender & triple clamp. To even fender out.

@@NorthernInbread left side of engine on the head , at bottom edge of gas tank. Silver in color, it will have 1 rubber his coming off of the top.
KC, did you do the bypass on the clutch switch?. It may stop the backfire also.
