A great video guys. Some extra info. I got a nice shock on my birthday last year - I'm 60. A litacka (season ticket) is a THIRD of the price not half. Blew my mind. If you are between 60 and 65 and here for a week, get a monthly pass. It's 130kcs. Have a lovely day from an old piano player.
Τhis video is the most complete guide ,including the info for the 2 min delay need for the validation of a ticket!!!
Don’t like them fining you when the machine is broken. Here in Seattle you get a free ride when that happens.😢
A very nice explanation.
Yeah, also from where I've grown up. If the ticket machine is broken in the tram, you get a free ride if you don't already have a ticket and the inspectors will send the number of the vehicle out, so that other ticket inspectors won't board the tram until it got repaired. Only this is fair!
So much information! I guess i just need to make sure I always have 1000 on me at all times to pay the fine.
Thank you for this usefull information on the subject of buying tickets. The validation step is very difficult to understand for foreigners wo are not used to do it.
Excellent video! Really saved me a lot of bother on my trip to Prague last week however I feel maybe Val contact the tourism agency for Prague and advise them this will put off a lot of tourists. I seen two lots of Chinese 🇨🇳 tourists being stung for 3000 Kc due to wrong passes! I think someone like you would have positive impact as tourists will aviod Prague it’s a lot of money for simple errors 😢
hello friend. thank you for the video. really happy to watching. keep update and see you
I just come back from Prague. I would like to thank you for your videos and all the tips you are giving. The trip was a complete success. We knew where to go, what to see. We enjoyed our stay a lot. What a great and beautiful city. Again thank you.
Thank you! We are happy to hear our videos were helpful ❤️
Valerie we are coming to prague in december from Australia,we love your accent
love the videos and channel, going to visit soon, just worried about restrooms, do most cafes/places that serve food have restrooms???
Prague looks like it's one of the most beautiful cities in the world! I've gotta check it out someday.......
Been to Prague a few times and visiting Prague again next week. Looking forward to it. I won't need to use transport when I visit. When I have used it, it is very good.
Great video! This type of tutorial is what I was looking for❤ I was there last February. Where I am presently living and where I grew up subways and trams are non existent 😅. Transportation is by car, by means of driving. If not for my Swiss trip last year I would not have plucked the courage to take tram and subway after 1 day in Prague. I think that every country you go to should have a guide in youtube on the transpo system because there are certain laws that vary. For european countries these transpo system are normal, but for other tourists w/o this is challenging.
If you are over 65 and travelling from the US what ID do you need to show on public transport, since you are entitled to travel for free?
A little list for tourists from around the world:
→ 30 min / 30CZK = 1.19 EUR = 1.30 US$ = 1.02 GBP
→ 90 min / 40CZK = 1.59 EUR = 1.73 US$ = 1.35 GBP
→ 24 hrs / 120CZK = 4.76 EUR = 5.19 US$ = 4.07 GBP
→ 72 hrs / 330CZK = 13.09 EUR = 14.26US$ = 11.18GBP
Of course, the amounts may vary slightly from day to day but this little list should work as a good reference for most of you! :)
Brilliant as always. I get there on Wednesday and will be buying my ticket to get me from the airport to Letnany. Looking forward to it.
Brilliant 👏🏻 that’s a very informative and useful video. We walked everywhere, the only time we got on a tram was with your husband to the castle😉 and then he was very good in getting the point over of how to get them validated. The first time I came we stayed on the outside of Prague 🤷🏼♂️ all I can remember is there was a very large IKEA on the other side of the motorway we came in on. We would get the metro into Prague every morning. Very fast and extremely clean “unlike London Underground 🫣” I think when we visited again we will still walk, there’s so many beautiful buildings that you would miss and it’s so easy to get around most of the things to see👍
I think prague has one of the best public transport systems thoughout the whole of europe
I tried one in Vienna and it was the best so far
It surely has !
There's a excellent tram service at night too which seemed to run all night
Budapest was excellent too
Thank you so much for making this!! I was getting really anxious after all the previous videos about the fines LOL
Cena jízdenky je pro zápaďáky velmi malá, tak proč si ji nekoupíte ??
Again you made me crack up with your funny self!!! Again very informative vlog, thank you. Love you and your channel, see ya next time, bbbyyyeee!!
RPGs!!! I have always been a bit afraid to use the metro in Prague because of the validation. This video helped a lot. I will try it the next time I am there. Keep up the great work RPG’s🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Chris!
Love your videos so much - your explanations in all are of your videos are so heartfelt and with love that I really feel like to visit Prague again (what I'll do anyway again, soon) 😍😍😍
Ill be there for easter looking forward to trying it out
This is going to be super helpful, thank you!
Love your all videos
Great video as always! I shared it with my daughter who will be coming to Prague soon. One question: I have a year pass Lítačka and have never been able to figure out if it is valid for the funicular or do I need to purchase a separate ticket???
Thank you so much!!!
Fining people waiting in line to buy a ticket or if the ticket machine is broken is so messed up.
Thank you
Are transit systems similar, in Brno? Are they interconnected?
Thank you for all the information. God willing I will be visiting Prague this April.
Is the Estates Theater a part of any of the tours which you participate in?
Hi. Thanks for the video. From the airport, what's the better way to get to old town? Im going next month Prague ❤
You can take the trolley bus that goes from the airport or order Bolt or Uber
I don’t understand why your government allows the inspectors to be so unfair. One question - as 65 + can I also travel on the boat & funicular for free with my passport?
Thanks
Thank you so much!!! ❤️
Very helpful video and thank you.I have a question. Since I am now over 65 and my youngest son is just 13, do we need to buy a ticket and how do we prove our age. My eldest son is 17 and will be needing a full ticket - which is fine.
Lidé nad 65 let jezdi po Praze zdarma a revizorovi jen ukážete osobní průkaz nebo pas s datem narození.
Revizoři nehoní starší lidi, vybírají si mladé, protože ti často podvádějí
72 hr ticket @ 330 czk = $14.26 USD. Counts me in 💃
Agree. This seems the easiest way to go.
Great video. I still have a question as to how the luggage addition works.
If I buy a 72 hour ticket with the additional of the Luggage is the luggage addition only valid for the first 180 minutes of that journey?(or for the validity of the 72 hour pass?)
"The luggage/animal fare (20 CZK) is paid by 20 CZK discounted tickets for Prague (zones P, 0, B). Time and zone validity is the same as the validity of passenger tickets, however no longer than 180 minutes. If passengers have a ticket with a time validity of one or more days, they can transport one piece of luggage or animal for free (except on PID trains)." By the way, up to 25×45×70cm it's always free.
Thank you for this well explained guide to the Prague Transport system. I just have one question, I’m over 70 and will be visiting in a few weeks time. Am I allowed to travel free and if challenged by an inspector what proof of age is accepted. Thank you
People on our tour for example showed drivers license, or passport.
Now there trolleybus
does the 72h ticket cover tram and metro or just the metro?
It covers all the means of public transport: metro, tram, bus, funicular, ferry and even trains as long as it is within the city limits.
If I buy a 72 hour ticket, I assume I only need to validate it once. At the start of the 72 hour period. Is that correct?
Yes. Only validate your ticket once. If you validate it more than once, it becomes void.
the only area I don't quite understand is the zone. Sometimes we just want to take a Tram to nowhere for sight seeing. How to avoid crossing the zone.
Not all transport is shown, there are also trolleybuses in Prague.
Best option for the tourist, buy the 72 hour ticket. No worries for 3 days... Just hop on and off all you like.
can i buy a 72 hour ticket on the app and acctivate it before i leave the airport??
Οf course you can,you wait 2 min and it's done
@@oceanadex hero 🙏🏻
My buddy lives in Cerny Most, he also has a trampoline😅
I have been trying to research the discount for 60-65 year old. I have found different answers. Does a passport work for proving age or do you have to have the PID pass?
Your passport is fine, but a month's pass is 130 Kčs, the same as 24 hours +10 Kčs. Otherwise it's 50% discount on tickets.
You can show your drivers license from you country as long as it shows your birth date to prove your age, and I wouldn't recommend you carry passport around because you don't want to lose the passport. My parents are in their 80's and they show thier Florida DL and it works great. The senior age to travel free in Czech Republic 65 yrs or older and 60-64 age is dicounted ticket and you need a ticket.
I mentioned a passport because that is what all the sites say, so a driver's license will work? Thanks for the feedback.
@@nelsonpatel8624
@@nelsonpatel8624 I would definitely recommend you carry your passport around because it's the law. The Driving Licence is OK for ticket inspectors but for the police it's different. I have the quote from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
"Residency and Entry Requirements
You should be aware that whilst you are in the Czech Republic, you are required by law to carry ID at all times. Residents must carry their Residence Permit whilst tourists or short-term visitors are obliged to carry their passport at all times for identification purposes."
@@fingersfinesilver I have been traveling to Prague from Florida every year except during COVID travel ban time since 2006, because I have my own apartment in Praha 7 Holesovice and I never carry my passport when in the city, but a valid DL is fine for identification and requirements. It is risky to carry your passport at all times for getting lost or stolen from pick pocket. You only need a passport when traveling by train crossing country borders or boarding a plane, and entering a new country for customs. I have never been asked to show my passport in prague all these years except when I go to my bank for banking purpose from my own account is when i carry my pasport or when I exchange money at exchange center. Cheers!
if you buy a 24 hour ticket. Does this apply to all types of transport? for example metro, train and tram?
Yes, it does
Is it free for 65 and over, or do you have to be 66 and over to ride free?
65+
You can travel for free since the day of your 65th birthday.
