You offer a measured perspective that weighs pros and cons, also considers how these fall within a larger collection for long-term fans. That's exactly the perspective I'm looking for. I have limited space and want quality over quantity at this point.
I have All of the remastered and original Lightning Collection figs and I do think the new Remastered versions are worth it. Better articulation, better helmet sculpts, more accessories. That alone makes them better than the original ones. Now, I do agree the original ones do feel a little more like they have better quality, but I personally didn't have any issues with ANY of my Remastered figs. They were sturdy, nothing was loose and they don't feel cheap. Mine don't have a shaky loose torso or hip issue so I guess it just depends. I'm comparing them to the Male MMPR Yellow ranger figure from that two pack. THAT figure had the worst Lightning Collection QC I ever had!! but it still use him tho, lol Id recommend these to anyone whos looking for an MMPR figure set.
Yeah, the off white of the original releases really stand out in this video. It makes me feel like, “damn would it have been hard to use white paint the first time?”
easy pass for me since MMPR keeps getting milked to death by Hasbro, i am fine with having the ranger slayer as my pink ranger for my collection that just another Kim or Kat figure, i still own a copy of the Legacy collection MMPR green ranger mint in box never had any interest in any of the Hasbro variants. I have zero interest in ever owning any of the Remastetrf figures when it is just more MMPR they are so many other teams that could have benefited from the remastered line like RPM with the proper side weapons not just having yellow stuck with the two modes of the nitro blaster/ sword
Only lose one for me was Billy. And it was just the knee... See so many just looking like shit really. Not surprised really that Hasbro cancelled it. They didn't really want the franchise lol. Feel like if not income then no figure. Cheaper the better Hasbro
The new versions are far superior except the old head portraits are far superior. Hascrap could work on engineering newer styles of bodies. The bodies are pretty excellent use of materials but the waist hinge could be hidden better by a soft plastic overlay. They are barely keeping up with Mcfartlane. Whose price and purchase value are up there with import stuff. ❤😂

Granted, they have many downsides (unpainted weapons made of softer plastic, less articulation, overpriced, extremely hard to get White and Green for retail), but I'm honestly satisfied with my Retro VHS figures of the MMPR team. Not only are they much cheaper than the Remastered figures, but they don't have that ugly butterfly joint messing up the diamonds. Also, in terms of falling over, I've taken with putting all my figures with peg stands. Amazon has a pack with 25 rectangle double peg stands and 30 circular single peg stands for, like, $20.
Which stands do you use? I like the look of the Retro VHS figures and got blue just to sample the build. But I'm frustrated that Green is unavailable and the knee and elbow joints feel extremely delicate.
I finally finished the remastered team set this week. I had also gotten a original lightning collection Jason for the head. I'm now using the extra red ranger to make a custom old man Jason. It's coming along very well and I'm on the the lookout for a head to complete the look. Possibly old man Hawkeye.
Now I imagine handing over the Master Morpher to Zenkaizer in an imagined expansion to the already finished original TV timeline, since I imagine JJ to be Zenkaizer's counterpart. A genius in handling Ranger powers on par with a Morphin Master, he modifies the tech of the now damaged Master Morpher and create the Mechanix System, designed to access all form of Ranger powers.
For me it's a chance to buy them if you didn't get the others and don't wanna pay the crazy prices others are seeking them for especially Green Ranger.
if I didnt already have the original mmpr LC figures I would def get these but they don't seem worth it as it is right now. I'd consider getting them if they were on sale for like $20.
I genuinely believe they released the Jason figure with the dragon shield because everyone has been complaining about a dragon shield red ranger since no one wants to pay the after market price for the SDCC set. Back when I was collecting these I remember everyone complained about wanted a green ranger with the diamonds and would make customs without the dragon shield. I feel this was just Hasbro trying to appease the masses since the green ranger has been released A LOT and people had many chances to get him
The Remastered Pink and Yellow both have double jointed elbows and bicep swivel articulation, which the previous versions did not. I think that's a pretty big improvement. I thought that was worth a mention. Lol My feelings on them are mixed. I like them, LOVE the added accessories, but the price is a bit much. $50 each in Canada and a regular figure is $35.97. I'm not really seeing the added value for the additional $14.

As someone who didn’t have all the original rangers from the initial Lighting collection waves, I’m glad I got these. Only red feels a bit loose, rest are ok.
I like having the team of 7 VHS versions. Much cheaper than remastered and original, you can get all 7, still 6 inch tall so fit in with other lightning collection figures, black boot soles, and the slightly less articulation doesn't bother me
I just started collecting Lightning Collection and I was actually kinda upset that I had to buy a Red Ranger with the Green JUST to have the damn Dragon Shield. It screams scummy dealings to me. And I will say this. Besides Blue, All my figures don't have an issue standing. Blues hips are very loose and it makes it harder for him to stand (Though Red also has standing issues too. I can never get him to just you know.. STAND) I love the morphers and I have some plans to make custom Civilian forms for them all once I get the money.. Speaking of money.. 100% NOT worth what I paid for. Blue was the most expensive cause I couldn't find him anywhere Else. He was about 40$. Black was second at about 36$. Both free shipping mind you from Amazon. Red, Pink, and Green were all 34$ a piece, Plus shipping and tax. And yellow was the cheapest cause I used discounts to get her. From what I got? These should of been around 28$ each. So not worth the price I paid.. However to have a full MMPR team (Minus White of course) I am happy and all my figures feel solid (Except for blue and red.) I will also say.. They all do feel a little stiff. Specially the guys. Their elbow joints are very tight, same with Green and Reds hips. Pinks Hips well.. because of the skirt? I can't get her to really pose with the others. Her's are also very tight. I mess with them everyday, but I still get nervous posing them all cause I don't want them to break. Also Pink can barely hold her bow cause the hand I have her holding it in is very loose. it's annoying but not the end of the world. Honestly these figures are nice. Good for those like me who didn't have the original team release. Hell Green Ranger is going for nearly 200$ on Ebay and Amazon (Original not Remastered) and I wasn't about to drop that kind of money on something like that. Not even a completed team. Just shows how JDFs passing has effected his toys. But yeah.. The group has their issues but if you are a new collector and can find them a little more cheaper then I say go for them.

I held off buying any MMPR figures because they generally looked terrible in comparison to other figures on the market. Once I saw the Remastered Series, I saw that for the most part, they looked much better and closer to the show than the other figures; especially the helmets. I think the helmets was the real selling point for me. I was originally just going to get the Pink and Green Ranger, but Hasbro's clever or not-so-clever marketing team opted to throw the Green Dragon Shield to the Red Ranger and not give the Red Ranger a human head. What was truly up with that? I saw a recent video of Austin St. John and he said, "I have a really good working relationship with Hasbro." Really? So good they won't supply your likeness with the most recent figure release? Anyway, I obviously had to get the Red Ranger. Then I saw the Black Ranger and realized, I might as well get all of them. Now that I have all of them, I realize there was something awesome that was NOT advertised. Something that you'd THINK would or SHOULD be advertised. Something that would have made you want to buy ALL of them anyway. The weapons. They all combine to make the Power Blaster. Why on Earth wouldn't you advertise that? I got the Blue Ranger first and couldn't understand why he came with two different weapon sets and the small lances had holes for blast effects. Once I got the Pink Ranger, I figured it out. They all combine; it's also why the Black Ranger's Power Axe has a segment that moves up and down on it's handle. It pinches the Power Bow to lock it in place and then the yellow and blue weapons attach underneath and the Power Sword attaches at top to the back of the Power Axe. That's really cool and was a special bonus for me. None of the reviews show that. These were the first and only Rangers I have or will get. I am very satisfied with them. In terms of articulation I have them on the shelf in their more iconic Martial Art poses. I have been impressed with their ability to get into those poses and stand. The only complaint I have, is that the female buck has reverse butterfly joints. The socket recedes in the back instead of the front, as it does on the male buck. So the females can move their arms WAYYYYyy back, but can't bring their arms more forward. The Males have the reverse situation. Not a deal breaker, but just an observation.
Legends will be told about "Kim, the last one standing" XD

If you already have them (as in, you already have a previous release): no.
If you only want Red or Green: also no.

I've checked out of MMPR. So nope not buying.
It's just a shame that most retailers probably won't even carry them.
The first Zack head looked terrible. Looked absolutely nothing like Walter Jones. The remastered looks better, but still doesn’t look like Walter.
