- One more time - they're back! Power Rangers Lightning Collection orbits around Mighty Morphin, and now it's ending/pausing/going on hiatus with the originals. This new set of the season 1 six includes more accessories, plus glow ups from their original versions.

These figures were so close to being the “definite” mmpr figures. Omitting the sword of darkness for blade blasters on green ranger is a tough pill to swallow as well as not including a human head on red. Also not having window boxes makes me hesitant as people been having QC issues with missing/wrong accessories. The loose joints are also concerning. Hasbro is almost there to making the perfect mmpr figures, but they still have ways to go.
Hasbro does the exact same thing with Transformers, you get one piece of a combiner every couple of months, so it takes you a full year to finish one team.
well you cant just dish out the whole combiner in one wave you gotta push it slowly
@@keybae23 respectfully why buy into that logic? It’s only a very recent Hasbro selling model. Back in the G1 TF days it was always all at once as well as every combiner up until recent memory. Devastator (Titan) was packaged as 1 set.
I seriously appreciate how honest and real you are with your reviews. You call out the crappy aspects of production issues while still maintaining the excitement that comes with showing off the magic of this franchise and collecting! 🙂
This set is my first foray into the Lightning Collection. I really love these guys!
I personally will never display them with unmorphed heads, so Jason's lack of one wasn't a deal breaker for me but I can totally see that making plenty of other fans pretty mad.
I am also furious that Hasbro didn’t include Jason‘s head sculpt. As an apology they included the Dragon Shield, but they took it away from the green Ranger, which "ruins" not one but two figures. 😠
Super 7 is doing the same "its morphin time" with the extra morpher accessories in each ranger, plus the "power crystal" which hasbro lacks on their remastered MMPR line.
I had just finished getting the MMPR Legacy set when Hasbro bought the license...I vowed right then to not purchase their MMPR team. And y'know what, I'm still going strong! These figures do look great and have cool accessories, but if I ever spend money on a MMPR team again, it's gonna be on the figuarts which (I think) still look the best.
Good thing I still have the accessories from the first Mmpr lightning collection that came out especially the Jason and Tommy heads and the sword of darkness.
Still very much annoyed that the Lightning Collection goes on hiatus just when it finally starts Lightspeed Rescue.
We could've gotten Mystic Force or Jungle Fury but nope Hasbro seemigly put it on hitaus or straight up pulled the plug

Good coverage of the Remastered line. I'm still not sure if I want to re-buy MMPR when I have the first release and the Ninja Rangers. The missing accessories and QC issues definitely discourage the consideration. Who wants to spend significantly more for small fixes when there might be additional small errors? As well, Hasbro seems to make unnecessary changes. The drop hips on the males just made the figures more brittle. Was anyone asking for this feature? Once they get it right, just re-release. Make the small updates based on fan feedback. But don't fix something that was already good.
These are definitely the best mmpr figs but I could see them rerelease in a year with window packaging
I'm still getting these (in fact I got four out of six as of writing this) because I kept my original ones in the packaging and opening the remastered figures.
When I began collecting PR stuff as an adult, I made an informed decision to not buy the Lightning Collection and get SH Figuarts instead because of the Red Ranger. The ugly, show-inaccurate sculpt of the LC helmet really was my deciding factor.
I however decided to buy the remastered line.
I like the figures. I’m not a fan of the tv series’s but I bought a few of these remastered figures and I’m enjoying them. Good review.

I'm doubling up. It's nice to have ALL the accessories, like the Sword of Darkness, different hairstyles, and an extra team to use them.
Just saying, we deserve the white ranger as well. I've sent an email to Hasbro and it seems there's interest in doing so . By letting them know we're about to support a white ranger release, we should be able to get him as well!
There are 3 different iterations of the white ranger. We don't need anymore. Give other seasons some love

Plus ALL pre 2021 figures cost an arm and a leg. So pretty much yes, a remastered white ranger is more than welcome, and the majority of the planet stopped watching Power Rangers after the two first seasons.You're more than welcome to continue supporting the franchise though

100% agree with this whole video.
I also am pretty enraged that the gold on Green Ranger cuffs for the boots and gloves don't match the sheild.
I will give them a ton of credit on Pink for Finally a better color match vs the "purple" all the other versions carry on the main body vs the arms and legs.
All the helmets are much better.
I hated the price for these. $50 Canadian + tax. Tough pill to swallow. It would almost make one consider a super 7 as an alternative.
Despite suffering from many of the standard lighting collection issues I am ultimately happy with them.
If you can luck into a sale I would not hesitate to grab your favorite.
I have a feeling that Jason missing a Head….is gonna happen to Wild Force Red someday down the line when Hasbro picks the Lightning Collection line back up.
Also, Imagine Hasbro making Cosmic Fury Lightning Collection before they completely Dino Fury. That would be funny.
Unfortunately in the beginning i only had 4 of the originals, red, pink, yellow and green. the remasters gave me a second chance to buy blue and black in the remaster versions. I don't mind the helmets, just glad i have the team.
I got my set in last week all i need is billy. Have all the rest. I absolutely love them have them paired up with my white tiger from 2019 and ranger slayer too
I was interested in buying the Green Ranger figure, until I found out his shield was packed with the Red Ranger. Like you said, if I wanted a complete Green Ranger, I'd have to pay $70, so I skipped the figure entirely. It's a grimy, anti-consumer move on Hasbro's part.
Just buy it .and return the box with an older figure
I just got my green, pink, and red in today. I spent 110.00 on them and now my core 6 team is complete. My biggest issues are the QC. Green Ranger’s green candle is kinda bent, Pink Ranger’s helmet has a bit of a blur/smudge on her visor where the Pterodactyl beak goes down, Red Ranger’s helmet also has paint mistakes and white paint chipped off under his left arm pit. Idk if I wanna spend another 110 dollars getting another copy of them. My Yellow Ranger has a chip under her left arm near the shoulder where it turns and a few chipped or scuffed marks on her legs.
The double hip I see them doing that for the Pink Ranger as the original lightning pink ranger couldn’t pose her legs together. The Pink Ranger almost always kept her legs together due to her skirt. I kinda wish The Pink Ranger came with a fabric like skirt and each figure could come with like 3 copies in case it tears or rips, but I’m sure there’s good quality fabric they could use out there? Also the Remastered Yellow Ranger Daggers don’t have special effect ports on the ends like the Blue Ranger’s lance or the Black Ranger’s ax.
Yes I’m also upset at them not including Austin St. John’s head. However, I’m hoping they’ll release all 10 MMPR character’s in civilian clothes in the future. Maybe in two packs. We could get:
Tommy (in green) and Tommy (in white)
Jason and Rocky
Zack and Adam
Trini and Aisha
Kimberly and Kat
Billy and Minh?
And then also a Bulk and Skull.
Still kinda hoping we get a Madame Woe as she was the first female Monster of the Week.
I’m not using the ASJ head from the first lightning release as when I tried using Trini’s original head sculpt on the remastered one, the head peg came off and I had to ruin the figure to get it out with pliers. I’m not risking it so the Red Ranger just won’t have his civilian head which is fine as if they aren’t making civilian bodies, I’m not using them.
Overall I am happy with them but I’m gonna have to rebuy the red green and pink (or at least the red and pink) to hopefully get better QC copies. It’s a gamble but what can you do?
If I only had the extra money I would buy the whole set, but can’t afford it.
As long as none of mine come with loose joints I'll be satisfied!
I really don't have a problem with the red Ranger not having a Jason head,i don't use the civilian heads on my Lightning collection figures,those are My least important accesories

I pre-ordered the red and green figures three separate times each. The only green I got was one in a damaged box, and every red was cancelled. I ended up having to suck it up and pay on eBay to get the red.
I wonder they will do a mmpr movie lightning collection figures. Might be a movie rights issue though. The mmpr movie was a 20th century fox movie so, I don't know they are allowed to make them without Disney permission. After all Disney bought fox they own the movies now and the mmpr movie might be one of them. Maybe I don't know if that's the reason why they haven't made the movie figures yet. But it sure is taken them a long time to get them since they keep giving us mmpr lightning collection figures and not the movie version. The suits were made for the movie they didn't used the suit from the show.

Love the point you made in section 3 with the display options as that’s how I have my teams displayed with the one adjustment I made being I have my metallic mmpr rangers also holding all their respective zeo crystals and power weapons as well with my zeo red holding the completed zeo crystal.

Overall I wish this had been a true complete set.
The Dragon Shield gimmick would have been awesome if every figure came with a shield with the female figures having one sized for them.
If Green had the proper holster with a SOD. Black and Blue having those extra weapons and a few other things.
It's a pretty good update($ to value aside) but they do have issues that just shouldn't be there. It's this Marvel Legends approach when they should have a Gi Joe Classified approach.

These were great figures never had the original got 3 out of the 6 the other three are coming Monday the only problem I had was when i took off the shield off red the white paint flaked off and I had to repaint it

if they had to charge that much for each figure I think each one should've included every head. Every actor who ever portrayed any of the mighty morphin power rangers deserved a head
Exactly, just leaving one out makes it so obvious that they are afraid of Austin's legal troubles. Switching the shield to him is even worse, it just makes them look like they are forcing you to buy Red and Green to have one complete figure.
I'm still trying to get my hands on MMPR Blue and Green from the first set. At this point, chances are I'll never get them. As for the resmastered, I only have Yellow and Blue.
My real first Hasbro Collection is the Master Morpher my brother got it on eBay I don’t know how much it was but I am glad that I have as a birthday gift

I have to say to be Honest the Lack of Jason Civilian Head really Killed If for me. Other Wise I’m Definitely be getting the Full Wave. But as is I’m just going to get Tommy Oliver and Trini to Commemorate each of them Passing in addition to the 30th Anniversary of the Franchise. As I’m one of those that likes to Display my Power Rangers Figures with Civilian Heads on.
Any chance of me bothering with this line died when I saw there was no Jason head sculpt and they put the shield with the red ranger. I’m probably going to go with Super 7 instead.

Good fix I wish I trusted myself enough I used the yellow helmet from the comic color swap 2 pack. The Jason yellow helmet is the same size and has all the right paint applications
I feel late to the party. About to crack up a new Zeo Red and find what joints of his a loose
I’ve stopped purchasing Power Rangers all together, glad to see there’s still buyers.
The head thing is a huge issue, I don't care personally as I don't ever display them without the helmets and the actor has done enough bad things that I don't mind not looking at his face; but I think Hasbro just doesn't love this franchise enough to care about things like this. They can never get it perfect because even though farming MMPR nostalgia is a decent money maker for them, it will never touch Star Wars or Transformers in there eyes so they won't give it the love and attention it deserves; nor do they care about cultivating a fanbase or loyal customers. All the upgrades and benefits they gave these figures just really don't balance out with the increased price, the missing head, or the shield not being on the correct character.
I do kinda wish there was a Remastered White

Funny how finding the where i live was the complete opposite. You coukd find Blue, Black, Yellow and Pink everywhere put not Red or Green.
I'm glad I got the originals, I much prefer them. One thing I prefer about the remasters is that Kim, Zach and Billy's heads don't have goofy smiley expressions. I'm not a fan of black on the belts, it's poorly executed, I believe if you can't do it properly then leave it alone. Prefered embossed over the printed coins on morphers on original. In terms of colour I like new shade of Blue on Billy this time. The gold on the dragon shield looks much better, but sadly the new shield looks cheaper texture wise. Not liking the how more narrow the middle chest diamonds are this time. Ultimately not a fan of these remasters, much prefer the original releases!
Welp… I’ll wait for the remaster of the remaster… and we know they will do them again

I was a kid in the 1980s , Saban needs to do a full on remake TV series of MMPRs with New action capable actors signed to multi-season contract , , , 😸👍👍 PS somebody PLEASE scan the old Jason head and make a public 3D-PRINT file of it available ! !
Yeah, they really botched it by not including an Austin St John portrait. Helmets on though, this is probably replacing my Figuarts set on the shelf.

Idk should have been that way to begin with, especially the shield. Is it just me or the bodies look like inbetween older lc and a basic figure?

I got the full set (Along with an older Red, pink and black) and tbh I feel like I spent waaaaay to much. 34$ each plus shipping and tax is a lot. And tbh the fact that Jason comes with the shield and not a head is just lazy by Hasbro. I bought 4 of the 6 with Gamestop. All were perfectly fine. Blue and Black I got off Amazon (With blue being over 40$...) and even then the figures do have some issues. A lot of the joints are stiff as hell. Pink can't really hold her bow on mine cause it keeps falling out of her hand. Yellow has shoulder issues where you can't lift the shoulders very high. Red, and Green have Elbow, Hip, and knee issues. They are so damn tight. Pinks hips you can't see cause the skirts in the way. Blue and greens hips are shakey already. and Blacks elbows are insanely tight. Barely can get them to bed.
in my opinion. 34$ with the quality I have gotten isn't worth it. But as a first time collector of the Lightning Collection. It's not a bad set. I just think it's overpriced, with again Blue being the most expensive. and the fact that the Jason head is missing and you have to Buy Red to get the Dragon shield is.. annoying. I originally planned to not get the full set but ended up doing so anyways, despite having a Black, red, and pink figure already. I do hope we get a remastered White ranger as well as Zeo rangers. Cause I am not buying Zeo Ranger 3 Blue for 140+ bucks.
I haven't decided next but I am thinking of grabbing the 3 Dino Thunder rangers and the In Space team next. I can't find a full set of Dino Charge or SPD for cheap. and the Ninja rangers? Forget about that cause I can't find them.
I've picked up the set since I missed the initial releases and have no interest in the metallic set.
I also don't collect much PR stuff, I just wanted a full team that I'm familiar with, since Dino Thunder is a pain to finish, and Ninja Storm doesn't have any figures, the MMPR team became the go to.
This is just pure speculation, but due to his legal issues they didn’t include the head as well as possibly a royalty problem. Using his likeness, they would probably have to pay him so much, which a company probably doesn’t want to do when he is wrapped up in what he has going on. Sucks, but life does move on.
This is not the definitive versions as the triagles on the gloves and boots are not aligned. Its more obvious on the red and yellow rangers' boots Maybe there will be a ''re-remastered'' version of them one day
I've always thought the lightning collection figures are awesome, but I've never jumped in because it felt like I missed the original hype train. Unfortunately, it doesn't feel like I can jump in now either because I only want an accurate green ranger and black ranger, which isn't easily possible with this remaster because I would need to buy a red ranger.

After getting the mezco green ranger, these are so not worth it in comparison. That one is too good
Hasbro unfortunately does the whole "buy another purchase to complete another" thing with Beyblade Burst Quaddrive, by giving inaccurate driver colours and putting the more accurate one in another purchase, most notably for their Vanish Fafnir. Plus, the whole line was terrible and cheap in the first place.
The Jason figure not having his head sculpt possibly due to the controversy around the actor could very well explain why we didn't have a figure for Cole from Wild Force. Of course, it's all just speculation, but I've noticed that a lot of the rangers played by reeeeeeally controversial or hated actors tend to not have figures made for them, and I thought MMPR was only an exception due to their popularity and iconicity.
never wanted any of these since the problem with the lightning collection especially to due to the fact because of the dumb decision to go plastic free every time you buy a figure it is a gamble due to either factory error or simply someone putting to wrong figures in the box, at least with the boxes where you could see the figure you knew who you were getting but now its left having to take an unnecessary gamble maybe if you are lucky the figure you are after will have all of their accessories however that is not a guarantee i am glad i have retired from collecting lighting collection after the release of Dino Thunder yellow ranger ie Kira since every wave since then until you buy a copy of the figure and the open it you never know what might actually be in the box.
Hasbro decided to continue living in a purity spiral of self-elevated importance and decided to torpedo their product. Might as well call themselves, disney.
the reason why releasing the figures over multiple waves is important, is because not everyone has the money to just drop on all the figures at once. this way, people with less money can budget some money periodically so they can pick up each figure without dropping over $100 all at once
Remastered Green Ranger is painted the wrong shade of green. He looks like a lime color instead of the pastel green hes supposed to be. Throws his character completely off from being screen accurate.
To be fair, regarding the Red/Green shield thing, there have been plenty of opportunities to buy Green with the shield. People have wanted the opportunity to get armored Red without shelling out $150+ for the SDCC set. Now there’s a $35 option AND you don’t have to drop an extra $35 for Green just to get the shield

Yea the Jason head missing was what made me not get these but also I think the Green Ranger’s sword (when he was evil) was missing, and I think that’s what should have been included or added with the Green Ranger
I also would have wished that they would do it like Super 7 and have both Rangers portrait heads for Red, Black, Yellow, and Pink.

Man I'm so tired of mmpr figures. Idc if it was the first American season, plenty of other seasons have done just as good, if not, better.
Mmpr was literally a monster of the week show and had abysmal character development until season 2. Meanwhile seasons like In Space, Lost Galaxy, Wild Force and Time Force had everything mmpr had in 3 seasons, packed into one season. Yet we have 6 different iterations of mmpr s1 and several other season aren't even finished. It's ridiculous honestly.
I didn't realize they didn't include a Jason head. Hasbro always does something wrong. It's no wonder this line has fallen off. They honestly suck. I wish someone else bought and cared about the brand.
Lol you got a short memory. Bandai was running the toy line into the ground just as badly. Aside from Legacy morphers and weapons, the whole line went to trash. Not to mention it wasn't Hasbro that gave us the steam piles that were Megaforce and Ninja Steel.
