Why do they keep doing Dino Megazord? Buyers guide

- In 10 years, we've gotten around 20 or so releases of the Dino Megazord, which is more versions than any other Megazord has ever got. So how did that happen?
In what some will be able to use as a buyer's guide, here's the timeline of the last decade of Dino Megazord toys, as well as a reminder of how it all started.

Where to buy it
Hasbro's 3 releases will all be available during 2020.
You should still be able to find the Soul of Chogokin GX-72 Daizyujin/Megazord though this too is becoming harder to find.
The other releases will need you to search on the aftermarket.

How many people here would kill to see that Megazord in the Dino crossover on Beast Morphers when the episode comes out?
Pirate Hunter37 I would
Alongside the Thundersaurus Megazord and the Dino Charge Megazord
If they use specific footage from the movie, then it will show up.
My answer to the question? MARKETING! And it NEEDS a comeback! Like in a new team of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Or a new power Rangers team paioleting it. And as for me. I WOULD GIVE MY BLOOD!!!
Stefano Basso Except the Dino Charge Megazord decapitates the Beast-X Kingzord’s head and the Beast Rangers “magically” come aboard the Dino Charge cockpit.
Same reason Hasbro/Takara keep doing G1 Optimus Prime and why Bandai keeps doing the original RX-78-2 Gundam. They're iconic.
The Original Megazord is very iconic and probably one of the best things from our childhood. Me I love the Thunder Megazord cause I grew up with it but the Dragonzord is my favorite zord.
My VHS tapes were from season 2, so I grew up with the Thunder Megazord too!
My favorite zord is without a doubt Dragonzord. Seeing it rise up from the sea like it came straight out of a Godzilla movie never gets old for me even though ironically I'm not much a fan of Godzilla ;;^^
But sticking strictly to MMPR, my megazord of choice is the Ninja Megazord. I like the Shogun Megazord too but where that is slow but packs raw power, Ninja Megazord sticks closer to the idea of the ninja: Swift, agile, and hitting hard and fast cause no matter how strong you are, it don't mean shit if you can't hit your target.
I really love the triceratops zord myself.
I've always enjoyed the designs of the megazords, but was always frustrated by their lack of articulation and lack of villain toys of comparable size. The minipla was cool as it was essentially a 6 inch megazord that could still transform.
THIS
That’s why I love the Soul of Chogokin and Super Mini Pla versions. The DX toys are nice but I stopped collecting them for this exact reason.
I’ve always been more of a fan of the villians
@@jasontscott-west6037 I remember the DX for ZyuOh King: I mean, they are three blocks than transform in animals, sure, but in the gattai, the legs don't split.....
......It's just a plastic blocky junk. It's so bad.
Don't get me wrong: I like the idea. I think it worked better in Kiramager, with crystals and vehicles. But not with DX ZyuOh King.
Hell, in the Mini-Pla, have articulations.
And it hurts even more when you see Transformers do giant combining robots that are made up of smaller combining robots that also transform into vehicles while maintaining articulation at all levels. While keeping the price only slightly more than the DX toys I might add.
its the most Iconic mech that started the franchise's fame
My fav megazord.
same
@Tsukoyomi Light But he's talking about Power Rangers..
@@arootube yes it started Power rangers.
Except there were already 20 years of super sentai footage
Same for me. the Thunder Megazord is a close second.
I think one of the reasons this Megazord is so Iconic, is because the desgin is so simple compared to many of the modern zords, its kind of the point of a giant robot that formed from various creature desgins, plus when the five are together, you got a tank before converting to the robot form and that face helps make it more iconic.
I'm really hoping there's going to be a sentai artisan version of daizyujin. The original mold, but with painted parts, like dairenoh. That I would definitely buy.
I'd enjoy that too. They should do dragonzord and Titanus too.
@@powerrangertube yeah. That would be expensive, but very cool. Finally a show accurate version, from the morphing sequence.
They have the japanese version that made in the present
My uncle gave me his from when he was a kid. I very recently replaced my broken pteradactyl and finally returned it to it's completed state, which it hasn't been in for years.
Typing this right at the beginning. Haven't watched one second of the video yet. The Dino Megazord was the first and most iconic. That is the answer. No need for a video.
Why does everybody sing the first Pokèmon theme? It is the first, and most iconic. It is not the best Pokèmon theme song. Just the first, and most iconic...
Now onto watching the video.
That’s literally the same as asking why is there so many optimus Prime toys.
But they got so many other transformers to choose from, they never make any other zords beyond MMPR
@@AC-94_da_Rap_Arsonist They're just starting out. With due time they'll hit the later demographic. I mean, they're doing other rangers in Lightning Collection thankfully
@@chadderbug7587 I was referring to every other company besides Hasbro
@@AC-94_da_Rap_Arsonist ...You're probably thinking of another comment, cause nowhere in that 1st comment you made mentions the other companies-
@@chadderbug7587 that's what I meant by "they" Hasbro and the companies before them
I had the cheaper Megazord as a kid. The one where only the legs detached. Was gutted my parents hadn’t gotten me the Deluxe one but still played with version I had to death.
I had it too. It was cool the hands would fire off, but it wasn't the original.
@@KJsProjects Yeah, I have to agree. I got it as a gift from one of my relatives; it wasn't until the Shogun Megazord was released that I got one that could actually combine
@@matthewkuscienko4616 Plus, there never was a Special Size ShogunMegazord to get.
Same here. Got mine for Christmas in 1993. No idea why it had wheels on the back.
@@michaelgatti4038 I guess it had wheels on the back, to compensate for it not bein able to fully seperate and emulate what the Deluxe/Show version could do.
So the wheels in the back, could help the consumer pretend that it is in its final stages of the Tank Mode - Megazord Activated transformation
"Why do they keep doing Dino Megazord?". Because...
IT'S MORPHIN TIME!!
It is classic and has the best range of zords. I love the thunder zords and Ninja zords but the dino zords are the best.
there was actually a Sentai figure made in the Chogokin line before the Megazord, and that would be the Battle Fever Robo from 2006. they scale about as well with each other as the deluxe versions do with each other, but it does make a good companion piece in terms of Sentai robos.
I'm so mad at myself for missing the Legacy Dino Megazord 3 effing times at $60! I've never been much of a toy collector, but I want one of those SO badly!
I never had it as a kid so being able to get the SOC Megazord was awesome. It's perfect! It's one of my two favorite Megazords. I'm anxiously waiting in anticipation for an SOC Astro Megazord.
Yes, Daizyujin (the orginal name of this megazord) is one of the best designed Mecharobo (megazord) by TOEI.
The Dino Megazord is a timeless classic , it began our childhood .
One unmentioned version of the Megazord or Daizyujin, is the Joint Gattai Daizyujin from 2011, which heavily relied on block-like parts, which connect together using simple joints akin to another one of Bandai's toy lines called Mugenbine.
well, its more like the rx-78-2 connundrum: "its good, but it can always be better"
Yeah... From RX-78-2>GAT-X105> GN-000 > AGE-1
But RX-78-2 always the better
I would LOVE to see an all metal version for the next release!! After all us 90's kids are getting older now and I think it's finally time they cash in on the franchise with the ultimate power rangers adult collectable. All Metal ~ Fully Transformable ~ Dino Megazord!! Man, that sounds epic to me!
One word: Nostalgia
Even people who saw the '17 film in theaters were like, "why does America like Zyuranger so much?". Thankfully, for us Transformers fans, we've thankfully have been getting other stuff besides G1 like Studio Series doing remade and, sometimes, first-figure appearances from the live action/bayverse films for those fans that grew up with those films like I did, and the 90's kids are also getting their spotlight with Kingdom finally shedding some light on Beast Wars after all these years of it being pushed to the side for minor appearances/cameos and some repaints here and there.
As someone who isn't really a die hard Power Rangers fan, I am looking forward to seeing more of the mecha from the shows (Us or Japan) to join my Transformers.
It keeps making noise on my head that if i don't remember it wrong those zords were changed/destroyed in the show at some point, and i get it, they did bring back long lost powers from past generations but as much as i would like to see them back, i also would like the story to have a solid continuity.
ayooo super in depth video, love the detail and professionalism here. super fire! just subscribed! was never aware there were so many versions of this iconic megazord out there. cool to know!
Hey thanks Este! Your vids are really fun, I enjoy watching them and the interesting topics you choose. Only just subscribed to yours on this account today but I've been watching them for ages 🤓
@@powerrangertube i appreciate the support! will totally be keeping up with ur new vids, hoping to see ur grow soon, u deserve it!
Only having the original one from back in the day, not being able to justify the SoC one in my budget, I’m kinda hyped for the hasbro one!
I got the SOC for just a little bit more than a Legacy version. I did get mine used, so you can find deals if you shop around.
Same reason Pokemon keeps bringing back Pikachu. Marketability.
Love the video! I just watched like your whole entire channel in the past week
That said, the music in this one made me go crazy lol
I decided I was done buying any more versions of the dinozords after shelling out the money for the SOC versions of Megazord, Dragonzord and Titanus. They were expensive to get a hold of. I really thought the Legacy versions of the Dinozords were going to be the end of it all until the SOC versions were announced and I was amazed how much better and more accurate the SOC versions were. Naturally, I had to have them. I really don't think anyone will be able to top what Tamashii Nations gave us. Since I have both the Legacy and SOC versions of the Dinozords, there's really no need to buy any future versions. At least the Legacy Titanus and Dragonzord can be used for the Legacy version of the Ninja Ultrazord in which the Legacy Falconzord and Ninja Megazord are a part my collection. The only future zords that I can see myself getting from Hasbro is a Lightning Collection version of the Shogun Megazord which may or may not happen in the future.
Really well said, this kind of summarises my thoughts on it too. I don't have the MMPR figuarts, but the way people speak about them I get that every figure set since have been starting at a loss as they've already been bested. At least Hasbro seem to acknowledge this and know the only way to make their own lightning figures appeal is throwing in something totally unique that the figuarts didn't give us - a civilian head. Equally, they probably know SOC is the plinth of Megazord. So whatever they do for a collector's edition will have to offer us something we haven't had before. I have no idea what that could be. Electronics in each Zord...?
Meanwhile the rest of us have bills to pay. *sigh*
I totally agree with the SOC Megazord. It's what I always wanted. That being said, I'm still keeping an eye on Hasbro's. If they give us some more paint, or at least stickers, I might buy them. They do have a surprising amount of silver paint already, but I'll wait and see what the final version will look like.
The sad thing is Hasbro looks to really be cutting corners, especially on that new Dino Megazord. It's probably going to be overpriced too. The Lightening collection has been good so far, but Bandai was the master at making Megazords.
Great video btw 👌
It's maddening but I bet Hasbro don't want to start their reign by giving us the best one ever - it gives them nothing to improve on in MORE rereleases.
@@powerrangertube Good point, I hope you're right.
It honestly is the same as the transformers line this is somthing you can enjoy at 6 inch and have the combining gimmick .
I'd also like to add that 45 is quite cheap in terms of a set of hasbro figs combiners on there end are normaly 4 22-25 each for individual parts or figs and 30 40 for a deluxe core part of a combination
Standard Hasbro formula: Nostalgia+overinflated prices+crap quality plastic that will fall apart if you look at it wrong+fan boys who have no where else to turn because they hold every license ever= profit. I am a Transformers fan, my fandom has been going through this for years, I knew this would happen with power rangers, no one believed me, I was right, I laughed and cried at the same time.
I have most of the legacy zord releases myself and to go with the SOC Megazord I would love to see an accurate scale SOC Tyrannosaurus zord by itself to have next to dragonzord like in the show.
The super minipla is my favorite. I do love building model kits.
I love the super mini-pla version, bought all 3 sets for the series.
That newest megazord seems to be a wonderful cross between soc and 2010
I would say, Brachion was there till Zeo Zords took over. Finally they gave him a break because the dinosaur age was long over...
They need to make the lightspeed rescue train megazord
That’s “Supertrain Megazord”.
Me, seeing the title: It's clear why, it's because it's ICONIC!
Me, after seeing the video: Yup! THAT'S RIGHT!
As a child growing up in the 90's, I cannot remember how many times I begged my parents for the Megazord.
Same, and each time i was shot down
I'm sad for you guys :( I think I was lucky as a child
I prefer to remember what I was lucky to get instead at the time. And now what I can if I choose. Or even if not now, in the future. Goals are goals. Some don't need to happen, at all ever. But always permit the possibility.
it's iconic as the first Megazord. People who grew up with it now have jobs and disposable income to indulge in some childhood nostalgia by buying higher quality remakes of what they loved or couldn't have as kids.
My nostalgia is for Wildforce. Love my Gaoking.
Really wanted to get the Dino Megazord ever since I saw it back in 1993, but parents refused to get it for me. While the later updated versions and I was old enough to buy stuff on my own, the issues I had from budgets to waiting for the price drops that never happened, I missed out on it all. So I may just go for the upcoming Hasbro version as it's not going to break the bank, but do wish it had more colour to it all.
You could always paint the missing bits and make it look really nice
@@powerrangertube I could, but I'm not skilled with painting models. Suppose a part of me wished the sets cost a lil more, so they would have the bigger budget to give the zords more paint apps.
Honestly, I have 13 variations of the Dino Megazord and there’s no sign of stopping. Today is September 25, 2022 and at this time I have:
Playskool Heroes
2010 Bandai
2020 Hasbro
Super7 ReAction
Funko Pop
Lootcrate
2022 Hasbro Pulse
Hasbro letter opener
Super7 Super Cyborg
Bandai Tamashii Buddies
Diamond Select Vinimate
Super7 Ultimates
Lightning Collection Ascension Project
You are correct, they keep making them cause we keep buying. I love the nostalgia of all these figures. Thank you for the video.
Dope video. I’ve only just fallen down the power rangers rabbit hole again. I didn’t know about the 2015 version of the legacy Megazord! Those Mini Pla ones are well worth looking into. I picked some up in Japan and they’re great to transform over and over again rather than messing with the SOC one.
Either way I’ve just subbed and I’ll be excited to see what you’ve got coming up next!
welcome to the rabbit hole lol. During my holiday to Hong Kong in 2018, I bought my first SOC, which is the dinozord. From there on, there is no turning back but to get the other two zords too. I have never thought that I would have spent this much on the SOC zords plus the full set of figuarts MMPR. Not complaining but this is what nostalgia can do to our wallet! ;)
I still have my original Dino Megazord from 1993, the only thing I had to buy was its Reprolabels set (along with Dragonzord and Titanos ones) since they did not survive my childhood.
I stopped watching the series around the time the Shogunzords appeared, but I can say without fear this was the best design ever for a Megazord. I saw now and then the newer ones, but none looked as cool as the original. And after they went full CGI on the zords they just got uglier and uglier.
The Dino Zord has been around since it’s super sentai counter part
I’ll def be getting the Hasbro Dino megazord. Very happy with the best morphers zords and the new price point is so much more affordable.
I finally bought the 1993 DX Megazord way back in 2007, and have only ever taken it out of the box twice as I've got no room to properly display it in my den. Conversely, I've got the Soul of Chogokin version stationed in a display cabinet. The chrome has apparently speckled in the years since I purchased it (which I've heard is a common issue), but otherwise I'm quite happy with it.
I had that intermediate one with the legs coming off... to this day i want that full on zord seperate one
Zyuranger is worth watching these days with the original Dino Megazord, for those who want to see the Thunder Megazord you will need to watch Dairangers
It actually looks cool, along with the Thunder Megazord, after that they started looking very basic and few get close to something that looks good.
I really like videos like this.
You're not exactly reviewing something but I always did liked the 'toy history' aspect of your content.
Not to say that the actual reviews are bad or anything, in fact those are of high quality too.
But, if you were to make more of this? I'd be down for those, totally.
Thanks! I like to do a mix, I've put this in my playlist called 'What I think about...' cause it's not strictly reviewing
The disney era megazord also need some love. I always love arm changing gimmick from megazord. That's why dino thunder megazord will always be my favorite.
See I was never sold on the arm changing gimmick until recently until dino charge. But even I've come round to the Dino Thunder Zords over time
Every Megazord lived up to the original.
Answer: it’s been re-released so much because next to nobody was able to get one the FIRST time around
I own the Legacy 2015 version, and I'm quite happy with the weight and details it has, though I have to admit that it could go for added articulation. I'm curious about how the Hasbro combining version would turn out, since I don't really think Soul of Chogokin will be in my reach (unless someone got it for me or helped me get it financially)
11:22 As someone who just got both black and gold DX Megazords, this was a killshot to me. 😂
Haha sorry. They are nice, I'm sure of it. They're just not my cup of tea as I try streamline what I collect (because I have too much already 😬)
@@powerrangertube All good man! I've only taken a liking to them recently myself. After awhile they grew on me so I tracked them down.
I like the legacy black an gold Megazord. I have the complete Ultrazord in black and gold. It’s really an amazing Ultrazord and very unique
Same, I’ve been wanting to get an Ultrazord of some kind for a long time and didn’t get the chance when it hit retail. The area I live in is full of scalpers, so they were always off the shelves and overpriced online. I finally got my chance last year when I found the B&G Dinozord at a local toy shop for around $150. Got it and found the other 2 pieces for half of retail on BBTS. All in all, spent $300 on it last year. It looks amazing.
The Dino Megazord is my favorite Megazord design, with the Lightspeed Megazord holding a very close second place for me.
The mini pla is actually rather easy to build (compared to other model kits ) each zord has its own directions. The only thing is the stickers aren't the greatest but that's the case with most model kits.
My favorite was Soul of Chogokin. I want them to do a SoC Astro Megazord and Delta Megazord. Astro Delta Megazord is my second favorite Megazord behind the Dino Megazord.
The GX72 SOC is the ultimate pinnacle! But I def enjoy most of the releases over the past 20+ years. I Just hope hasbro releases a megazord, dragonzord and titanus in the lightning collection. Then the thunderzords! 🤞🤞 great video Ryan!
I couldn’t afford the SOC version, so the super minipla is my go to. I don’t have any problem with it, in fact, i kinda preferred it because i build a lot of gundam plastic models before, so i got the joy of building it on top of the product itself, with the articulations & everything. But of course one day if i got the money i’ll get the SOC version as well.
I love Dino Megazord, but give some love to Thunder and Ninja Megazord. I would be so happy if they gave us Chogokin Thunder Megazord, White Tiger Megazord, Ninja Megazord, and Shogun Megazord.
Does the dragon zord fit number 16; hasbro 2020 megazord?
Bu... the black and gold Megazord is gorgeous.
We also got a Mega Construx Set of the Megazord and in 2010 we got a mini Mix ana Morph Megazord and in a Ranger Adventure Set box a 5 inch Megazord figure. We keep getting the Dino Megazord in different ways cause thats the Original Megazord we grww uo watching and are interested in.
I have that Construx set!
I’ve always wanted to assemble Dragonzord in Fighting Mode, but my luck’s always been bad for getting a hold of the toys. Couldn’t get the original release because my allowance sucked, and I didn’t hear about the Legacy toys until they’d all been snatched up and were only available from scalpers charging ridiculous prices. 😕
this is the one that launch the Sentai internationally, in japan its only Zyuranger part of the ongoing Sentai, but for the rest of the world this is Power Rangers the one and only, the start of the whole phenomena.
I stil have the original one on my shelf. Too bad I never had the chance to get any of the re releases :(
A great note for the new hasbro zords packs is they are a combining six inch zord which seems to homage the original toys with some extra articulation if this is as good as the transformers lines that did a similar idea starting with combiner wars this could be really nice way to have our favoourites in a smaller ssize for collector space .also im excited that the lightning collection goldar is in scale with this dino mega zord making some fun display ideas
I think the Power Rangers comic has really revitalized the popularity of the classic team. I think some of the other zords need a chance. I would love to see a Black Dragon zord.
It’s definitely an iconic design even for Sentai. It was my favorite as a child even though I never had the transforming one. I did however have a piggy bank version I got at a garage sale for a short period of time. As I grew up I came to like some other designs more such as the Thunder Megazord, Mystic Force Megazord, Samurai Megazord, and some of the older Sentai like Jet Icarus. We do keep buying this but there is a market for the other megazords too. We have seen quite a bit of the Thunder Megazord and Ninja Megazord over the last couple years. Samurai Megazord also hand a re-release in both America and Japan two years ago. Plus the super-mini pla gave us Ninja Megazord and Shogun Megazord which both are still and easy find at Barnes and Noble as they sell quite well. Plus Hasbro will be giving us a non-transforming Zeo Megazord.
When I was little I did wish for this toy. I remember someone had the Brachiosaurus zord. One time on a vaccation with my family overseas I ran into a store that had the Thunderzords, I were gonna buy them but I could´t find the shop again the next day. Around 2006 in Brasil I saw the Megazord sold as a proper toy like that 1992 version. I am not sure it was it but it did look like you could seperate it but maybe it was like 2:35
If I ever cared to buy one it would be seperateable.
My favorite toy when I was a little kid. Also loved that dragon that came afterwards.
Oooooh and beast wars Optimus Prime & Megatron T-rex
Now that I think of it, I still have them all at my parents house in the attic
The Megazord at 2:31, I actually had that one when I was a kid. Looking back it looked pretty okay, the color and design looked sick but I wished I had the dinozords that combined the megazord.
Great list. Just to explain away some confusing parts about who makes these. There are two entirely separate Bandai’s. Bandai Japan, the original Bandai. And Bandai America who is unaffiliated with Bandai Japan but started out as a US importer of Bandai’s Japanese Toys. Tamashii Nations is a Bandai Japan branding for their upper tier collector lines. In part so they can avoid brand confusion with Bandai America. The Super Robot Chogokin and the Soul of Chogokin are both under the Tamashii Nations sub brand. Bandai America lost the Power Rangers license. Bandai Japan pretty much can not lose the Sentai licensing since they own a huge piece of Toei. The recent Hollywood Movie Megazord looked awful because it was “Sabban’s Power Rangers” and sought to avoid using any Toei licensed Sentai materials or designs. In hindsight an awful plan.
Because alot of people stopped watching after mighty morphin and that's the only megazord they know and remember
im really exzcited to get the hasbro megazord, i like the proportions and it having a tad bit more articulation and finally being able to afford a dino megazord.
Great thanks for reminding me of that giant jakks megazord we didn't get that I'm still bummed it got cancelled!
what do you think about bandai's legacy shogun megazord that was never released but theres concept art of it?
Was there concept art? I've never seen it, can you link it? I think it's sad that we never got it, especially since we had the Falcon and Titanus already - could've made a Legacy Shogun Ultrazord if it had happened
I have 56 different figures of this. I do have the variant colors of each version so some might not count that. We also have a two statue versions that are going to be 1300. One the regular and the other battle damaged. There is also a French altaya megazord. You pay some subscription and for 2 and a half years get a piece sent to your house for like 5 dollars until you make the entire megazord.
I only have the 1993, Legacy, and the Tamashii Nation one - I'm satisfied and don't need an Hasbro Dino / Daizujin variant.
I would be happy if they would release a Shogun / Tor / Ninjor that can work with Bandai legacy zords.
Curious to know what the size of the new one is as I can't afford the soc and currently have the upgraded legacy. I would love a line of 6 inch lightning collection megazords heck I'd buy megadragonzord and ultrazord as well in that scale
The buildable is likely similar in height so about 10". If you want something smaller, why not the Mini Pla?
I'm still bummed about that jakks Pacific megazord getting cancelled, I was super mega pumped excited for that!
the only negative thing of the DM/DJJ being the golden child, is that for years other great zords didn't get to shine and only had the original DX releases
only recently we started to get InSpace/megaranger and LightspeedResque/GogoV new incarnations
I'm glad they do bc I always wanted one from day one back in 90s but never got it. As years went by I still missed out so I'm glad I finally got the new Hasbro version and I love it. It was the same with Voltron. When the new netflix series came out and they remade it again I ended getting both new and retro versions to fulfill a childhood memory.
I bought the 2015 Legacy megazord, bought the Legacy Dragonzord couple of years later
now it's 2021, still have them, whenever my 3 year old nephew visits, he loves playing with the zords
starting him at a young age, like how it was for myself
Because it is the most iconic version of the Megazord.
Cool video, very interesting even tho I'm not a power rangers fan really, but you might want to tone down the backround music a bit. A little distracting the level it's at. It doesn't drown you out or anything. Just a bit distracting as I said.
Dino Megazord is best Megazord. When they 'upgraded' to the Thunderzords, it was sad to see the zords visually downgraded to slabs of smooth curves and uninspiring sillohettes. The Dinozords at times... worked indpendently, whereas the Thunderzords pretty much existed to roll in and link together.
It's for that reason the Dino Megazord and DeltaMegazord are my fav's. They are both interesting combined and uncombined, and while the Delta cheats with CGI, they commit to the police action with rolling gunplay and bike chases that just ignites the child within.
Another version of the Dino Megazord/Daizyujin was the Ranger Key version of it from the Ranger Key set Movie Edition that released in conjunction with the Go-Busters vs Gokaiger film
Ah well remembered!
I'm planning to buy 3 Soul of Chogokin DaiZyuJin sets for my Japanese Robot mecha glass display during July 2023 because it's Japanese TV show accurate.
The Soul of Chogokin DaiZyuJin is on my likes list. (Especially Soul of Chogokin Dragon Caeser and Soul of Chogokin King Brachion).
I missed all the expensive collector versions, so I'm looking forward to the 2020 buildable one. Also, Hasbro being really lazy and not making a solid/un-separable release that looked more like the suit in a 12" - 14" scale with a around 12 points of articulation is ridiculous.
The non combining t-rex- mastodon was mainly cause some collectors wanted a t-rex in scale with the dragonzord
The Dino megazord is iconic and I’m getting the hasbro combiner version on my birthday this year
I meant 2023
I actually went and grabbed the legacy collection T-rex because for the first time in ages the figure was based on the suit worn during the scenes where the t-rex fought on it's own instead of the combining model, and to this day i am baffled at how people cannot see the stricking differences between the suit and the combining model, to even ask if that figure bandai released was combinable, of course not. the footage they use for the transformations is of the actual DX figure then that flash of lightning hits the model and it's switched for the suit.
When the Legacy Megazord is released here in the Philippines, If I am not mistaken, it was around P5,000-6,000 PHP which if you convert to USD it is around $100USD-120USD. It is very expensive here in the Philippines. Also, the Legacy Thunder Megazord, it was retailed around 10,000 PHP- 15,000 PHP ($200USD-$300USD) if I am not mistaken and that's a lot of money. I am so eager to get one myself but I have no money at the time for I am only a high school student and that kind of money is almost the same as my tuition fee so I feel bad about that. Now that I can afford to purchase one, the availability is impossible and the price is doubled, HAHA I wish I had the money at that time to purchase one.
Hasbro released a lower quality version last 2020 and the price is not reasonable at first time it was released. For 1 pack of zord it cost 1000 PHP ($20USD) which is 3000PHP ($60USD) for the whole set. But now, I purchased it for half the price, 1 set for only 1400 PHP ($28USD) and I think it is a great buy! my son loves it and most of all I feel like I am 10 years old again. HAHA in fact I am the one that opened the package even though it was intended to be a birthday gift for my son. I do love it.
The Hasbro Megazord is not a bad Megazord in my opinion. Coming from a non collector, it is a great buy. It brings nostalgia. I can't complain with the price I paid however there is still a lot more to improve for the product specially the hollowness and the lack of stickers. I have contacted a local dealer hear in the philippines for a decal set which cost 250PHP ($5USD), I think it is almost the same as BD 15 decals and it does bring out the best in the megazord. It is now detailed with the sticker set.
love all your videos. so in depth.
can I ask if I was to try and find the 2nd print megazord legacy how would I tell the difference between 1st print and 2nd?
I want to sword to fit in the hands haha
Thanks Ian, that's great to know. Ok if it has a box, the difference is shiny gold foil where it says 'Megazord' and they removed the 'Power Rangers 20' logo.
If it's just the toy you're buying loose, the sword is the thing that changed, not the hands, so just check that it fits all the way. This won't actually help you ensure you're getting a 2015 megazord though, it could still be a 2013. I don't think there's an easy way to tell them apart unfortunatley because they're structurally unchanged. Even the knees which I do believe are stronger on the V2, there's nothing that looks any different to the eye. Maybe it's a bit like the sword and they just changed something really small...
Anyway hopefully you can find a sealed in box 2015 version! I think most people value 2013 more highly because it was the anniversary edition. Little do they know...
@@powerrangertube wow that was some amazing reply.
thank you for taking the time to write all that and explain it to me.
I will be looking to get one sealed.
i just want to finish my flip head collection 1st as god I love them since I was a kid.
anyway thanks again and love all your videos.
Hasbro's Legacy Megazord was actually pretty cool. Decently poseable with wasite leg and arm articulation, only missing the head. Paint apps are very sparce but the detailing is great so it can easily be painted into something to rival SOC. The Legacy Zords were also highly poseable and show accurate. great for displaying on their own against monsters or even teaming up with the Legacy Dragon Zord and still being in proportion. But it looks like the newest one from Hasbro Lightning collection ascension project looks to easily rival SOC at a local mass release pricepoint. Wonder if the Dragonzord and Titanus might follow
it took me 28 years to get a megazord as i missed out on getting the legacy megazord during its releases. picked up the 2020 hasbro one not too long ago the 3 set version Tyrannosaurus, Mastadon/Pterydactyl, Sabretooth Tiger/Triceratop the one and only megazord i own
