Today's video is a follow up to the video we put out this past Thursday. Thursday's video was all about the science behind coffee - the effects that coffee and caffeine have on your hormonal system. Today's video is more about the external side effects - what coffee does to your brain and body over time.
I've always maintained that if you stop drinking coffee, it WILL change your life for good. In today's video I justify that point & I'm also going to give you guys a step by step process on how to end your coffee addiction.

Another reason you didn't mention is dehydration. I was drinking 2 quads a day last week that's 8 shots of espresso. I quit cold turkey and have been bed ridden for the past 4 days. Today I'm feeling much better and finally have energy again. The withdrawal is real just like other drugs. Anyways I didn't realize how dehydrated I was. This morning I looked at my face and a wrinkle I've always had on my forehead diminished and my skin in general looks better. Can't wait to see what else will improve.

But I notice some important things...with coffee is great at the beginning, then while my addiction becomes stronger I get anxious and ALWAYS gain weight... I crave carbs as crazy and my energy levels go down... Then I quit coffee , during the next months my body regulates itself, I lose weight, sleep better.... And then I say....why not, let's have one coffee, and everything starts again ...

It’s been over a year since I quit coffee. Prior, I’d wake up groggy. Not wanting to get out bed. Now I wake up wide awake. This morning I woke up at 7am. Did my laundry, showered, made breakfast, prepped food for dinner and cleaned the house. All before noon. Quit coffee, you will not regret it. Another plus, I am mentally much more at ease. And do not crave sweets as much as I did when I consumed coffee. I still occasionally will get the craving for coffee. But I will just eat a peanut butter sandwich with a glass of milk. And that kills the craving for coffee.

You addressing the mental difficulty of giving up coffee is a KEY POINT!
Gave up coffee I think 2 times now, for at least 1 week + each time and I was miserable mentally and so tired physically despite me trying to not have ANY caffeine, chocolate included. The problem is I actually ENJOY THE TASTE of coffee (different flavours in the coffee).
Hate the idea of replacing coffee (coffee substitutes). I like tea, but....my bones are probably suffering (teeth dimerineralization, probably bc of overactive CNS)
I'll probably give up coffee after my current coffee is used up, and go out for a pour-over coffee once a week or so.
Coffee is a luxury and in the past, my ansestors MOST LIKELY did not have readible access to it, trying to talk my brain down and not freak out about not being able to enjoy coffee.

Great video, very helpful and informative. I quit caffeine first by replacing some of my regular coffee beans with decaf, sort of half and half mix. did that for a week, then moved to full decaf. Now I drink a delicious mug of chicken bone broth with tumeric, ginger and lemongrass daily. On 23 December I am no longer addicted to or consume caffeine. Also, I lost 6lbs during this time, so yes it absolutely impacts hormones!

The way I quit was by cutting back and back. I didn't go cold turkey, I just kept reducing my intake. I noticed semi withdrals during the reducing intake stage but by the time I was ready to have no coffee, I felt great. I feel better than ever without coffee and my physical performance has improved, because I have REAL energy now, not that artificial caffeine crap and i'm well rested due to having perfect sleep. I will admit that it was a tough process, mainly because I live a very physical life, but it's worth it in the long run an you end up gaining more energy and the energy you gain is your own and real.

Three weeks caffeine free after a 10 year addiction. I have a panic disorder and the biggest thing for me is that I can control it caffeine free. While drinking coffee the attacks would be so bad I couldn’t even talk. Now if I have them I notice my heart rate increasing, but I can still act normal and talk. HUGE difference. Especially at my job managing people when confrontation would be a big trigger.

Lately, I have been suffering from really bad acne and I think coffee is the reason why I'm getting all these pimples in my face, I just had my last cup of coffee this morning and today I decided to give it a try. Today I'm quitting coffee to see if I can improve this unpleasant acne from my face, I will keep you update, to see if anything has improved with my acne.

When I stop drinking coffe the bags under my eyes are disappearing and my skin looks a lot better. But my motivation and will to live! Oh man... I feel like just laying in my bed and crying all day. Started taking Tyrosine and b vitamins and it seems to help. But I realy miss that kick in the ass and the feeling that no matter what I can handle it (with my cup of coffe).

I found tapering off my coffee to be too difficult because after one cup I just wanted a 2nd cup really badly. But switching to black tea and then quitting black tea after a couple weeks worked great. Cold turkey left me with a horrendous hangover headache after about 24 hours. I was literally drinking coffee at 3 am to get back to sleep due to the pain. I think my sleep is a little better since but I can't say it's dramatic. You need to exercise other good habits like having a routine before bed and going to bed on time and not staying up watching tv/playing video games. That said, I feel better even if I'm dumb and stay up too late. Getting through the day with less sleep is easier. The whole being dependent on an external substance is a big part of that I think. If you are dependent on coffee and or energy drinks, and you know you didn't sleep well, you're constantly fighting with yourself to drink more and more cups throughout the day. That internal battle is just gone now which really helps.

So much knowledge, caffeine is the modern day nicotine of the early 19th century. I tell everyone to try a caffeine free life for just a little bit, always with a gradual decrease because cold turkey is a no go for many people. Even then, if they are heavy drinkers it may take months to get back to normal baseline...but if they can make it it absolutely worth it.

The effects of quitting coffee are amazing. My ex partner was begging me to do ot but i ignored her, as i felt mt weed and alcohol addictions were rhe problem in my life. Little did i realise that the anxiety i was feeling was driving me to smoke and drink.
6 weeks in to caffiene reduction. Ive had about four coffees and seven teas in that time.
Ow just on tea, mint, green and camomile.
I feel like a different person. Im confident, no butterflues in the atomach. Better sleep, skin, and energy levels are flat.not spiking and crashing.
But man, i miss the taste

Thanks for this useful video! I'm way over coffee/ Caffeine. I find going cold Turkey on coffee, substituted with black tea , then green tea, substituted for blacktea, than hot water substituted for Grreen tea. I find even though black tea is an external substance, my emotional balance & well being way way better ( relying on tea) compared to coffee. For my constitution, coffee is almost evil, too many drawbacks to mention! Today I'm a tea drinker. Next step , a hot water drinker

REM sleep isn't the deepest sleep. It is the dreaming phase and it's true...NREM is divided into light sleep and deep sleep. Caffeine affects deep sleep. Which part of the sleep is more critical for cell rejuvenation and it decreases when we age..but caffeine decreases it even without truly ageing.

I used to abuse coffee so much for years, I drained my poor adrenals and was constantly tired.
After I had omicron, every time I would drink a cup of coffee my heart would go crazy. It was very uncomfortable. So I had to fully stop. I was worried how will I go to toilet because coffee always helped, but flax seeds, a walk and an oatmeal tea were an excellent swap. I drink Russian coffee now (it's cicoria root plus I think roasted oatmeal or some grain like that) and it tastes great.
First thing I noticed is I could fall asleep at 22 pm or 23pm no problem, and I slept much longer without waking up.
I actually felt more clearheaded and rested than ever before.
Coffee never removed tiredness for me, just made me unable to fall asleep.
