Thank you so much! I was worried I might have killed my sage. But we are getting into cooler temps here, so I'm glad to now that the whole plant will die back. I didn't know what it would look like when it happened. So this helps me see it's doing exactly what it is supposed to do!
I have some purple sage and I agree they are great to have around for the scent of the leaves, they do smell wonderful. I live in Sydney (Australia) which has a temperate climate (zones 11a to 9b). One of the worst problems we have with growing soft herbs and greens (like the fenugreek you just planted out) is possums. Australian possums are cute little marsupials except when they're eating your freshly planted garden. They eat everything so I've covered my purple sage at night and so far it survives. We are In autumn, soon to be winter, so I'll need to keep it in a warm sunny spot to survive until the spring, and covered at night. Sage is a wonderful flavour to have with pasta and now you've reminded me, I'll have to look up how best to have it as tea. Thanks for the tip on how easy it is to grow new plants - I'll do that too :)
I've grown it in a large pot for several years, it got down to -10 f this winter and the sage didn't even die back! Never tried cutting it down to the base though
What are the watering needs? I grew some outside in the ground last year and it just kept going and going but this year i had to move and so i grew it in a pot and it died maybe. I think i watered it too much. Also can I cook with the dead leaves or only the fresh green ones? Can always use the dead ones for burning and smudging
Are there 2 different kinds of this kind of sage? My leaves smell like regular sage (Thanksgiving..lol ) but they are more slender and long your are more round and fat looking... lol looks good though thanks for the video!
That was my question but now I think it’s ok to let it bloom since it’s perennial & it will keep living and it’s just what it does in spring. Can someone pls. Confirm this?

I never knew how cool sage was, I'll have to get some now. No winter here but it should do ok.
Great video thanks. Best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪

What’s your zone that you live in
What soil do you like to use? Thank you for your beautiful videos!

What zone or state is this being grown in?
I want to plant, thyme, and lavender together
They do not root in water very well in my experience. Did you have good luck with that?

Yes, I have seen the slender ones. Mine is rounder and larger.
Do you allow your sage to bloom? Will it die if I allow it to bloom?

Cold hardy? Maybe where you live. 😂
Depends on the variety. I grow sage in michigan. But it can't sit with wet feet. So make sure it has good draining soil.
My sage has survived negative temperatures.
Sage is hardy to zone 4
