With sufficient penalties, hopefully more drivers will be pushed towards legal alternatives such as paid parking lots.
Although many people have suggested increasing the penalties, since it’s often cheaper to take a couple of tickets each month for illegal parking, instead of using a paid parking lot.

9:18 - I'm glad some of the locals are recognizing the hard work that's being done there and appreciating what our streets and sidewalks COULD and SHOULD be like with these clearings. So many times it's a matter of not having seen or experienced what it's supposed to be, and just assuming that walking on the street is status quo. I hope this starts a change on people's perceptions and idea of civic responsibility.

I hope there is consideration on improvised plates. We all know the issue with LTO, but I am aware that you need to get authorization for that, except for when LTO has not released your plate and you are using temporary plates following the format in LTO's memo.
To future lawyers please always remember your oath. Uphold the law with humility. And also remember that you are not above the law.

It would be great if the fines were increased. It is obvious the violators see the current fines as a joke. It doesn't seem to hurt them enough in the place where it counts, the pocketbook. The increased fines would also facilitate increased enforcement by allowing more enforcers to be hired and more impound yards. So sad this is required in the first place.
The worrying thing is, I read something that suggests the fees associated with illegal parking could actually be reduced in the near future.
I hope not, because that would be a major step backwards and the public would surely question what kind of logic went into that, considering nearly everyone has been saying they should increase, to act as a serious deterrent.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Increase the fine. Especially for repeat offenders. There should be a limit for these kinds of offense. Revokation of driver's license and vehicle registration should be as last warning if limits were exhausted.
After all of these, they are still doing it, criminalize or allow for the law to charge them with felony due to endangering the public safety.

Gadget Addict, for these kamote rider those traffic/road signs are merely just a suggestion. This is what they think, unless their vehicles are destroyed once caught disobeying traffic laws. Look at those stalled vehicles, some I suspect they've been there for number of years already. They literally made the side streets and sidewalks like a junkyard.

it depends, if the owner is present they can put it to neutral. If not they just proceed based on SOP.
@@emjilarson7372 If it is a automatic transmission, it's much better if they lift the drive wheels off the ground or put it at the back of the flat bed truck. If they towed it in Neutral for a long distance that might damage the transmission since it doesn't have lubrication as the engine and the ATF pump is off.

with so many parking and road violators this could be a good business for the city and LTO, properly educate and hire more MMDA traffic enforcers, a part of the profit can be used for better roads and signs and salary with health benefits for the MMDA personnel.

Just asking, How does the towing crew manage to tow a vehicle with the parking brakes on, especially if the car is an automatic transmission without damaging anything?
Handbrake can be disabled by unclipping a cable. If the car is in Park, you have to tow it according to whether it is RWD or FWD.

The person who filed the complaint actually told the enforcers, while they were receiving their ticket for illegal parking.

If your original plate is lost or damaged, you'd have to get authority to use improvised plates from LTO.

Many driving schools really don't have any proper parking. So they use the road and sidewalk 🤦

Good job for the COG however I've noticed some vehicles are towed on small streets but not on our street where many vehicles are blocking the driveway of private residences. So small street vehicles are parked even on curved corners. Vehicles can
not pass anymore due to tight street because of illegally parked vehicles & even dumped motorcycles,garbage etc. Pls take action
When you see the team on the smaller streets, it's nearly always because they're acting on an 8888 complaint (presidential complaints center).
It's really meant to be the LGU that handles the inner roads.

Unfortunately LGU is not taking it's action well & they are lax on their constituents so they continuously defy/ignore the " NO PARKING " signs as well as the other traffic signs. Sometimes it results into altercations(street fights) between vehicle owners & affected residents. How frustrating & disappointing. Only in the Philippines
