- Honestly I came upon this on accident. I forgot to choose my deity in character creation and ended up being surprised when i seen the Selûne Paladin dialogue option show up Lol.
For those wondering how i got to choose a god as a paladin, it's a mod that allows me to choose a god upon character creation like a cleric would.

Shadow heart gets corrupted to the light.
Technically she was a Selunite that was captured and brainwashed into becoming a Sharran. So she was brought back and not corrupted.

She's the type that IRL I make great friends with but never develop feelings for, but I've romanced her twice and never regreted a second of it.
Theres actually a specific scene as well tied to being a worshipper of Selune where if you find the Shar Idol in the under dark you can gift it to Shadowheart. As a selune worshipper she directly confronted me on what the actual fuck I was doing and I got the dialogue choice "shut up and kiss me" to which you then make out so that shit gets preeeetty spicy.
I need to try this later, never found any idol of shar in the game, it is in the underdark or grymforge?
@@PsiKenji it's in grymforge when you go like super high up and there are a bunch of traps. It's the place you can get to if you help the ram thingies with their duergar slavers. At the end of that high up place is a gate that you can open by fliking the level on the other side of it and in that room is a idol of shar

@@makeytgreatagain6256 Must be a selunite thing. I was romancing her as a bard and gave it to her, and never got this interaction. She just thanked me and wanted to find a gift for me at some point.

I want to romance her again on my dark urge evil play through but I cannot get over how weird she looks with the normal black hairstyle I’m tempted to make her beocme good to cut it off

I love that they put so much effort into having so much niche voiced dialogue that most players will never see or hear, absolute GOTY.
So um how do you get these dialouge options do you have to multiclass as a Cleric and Paladin
@@odasengoku7314 In this case most options are for selunite cleric, but there is one for selunite paladin and since paladin doesnt choose a god you have to multiclass.
And it's not just throwaway dialogue, it's whole conversations with so much acting that 80% of players will never hear. Just an absolute baller move. GOTY.

Found that the easiest way to ensure Shadowheart doesn't kill Nightsong is simply to toss the spear into your camp chest.
You show up without the weapon, and Nightsong points out that you have no way to kill her. Shadowheart instantly turns against Shar because she realizes Shar would kill her for failing anyway. lol
That's amazing lol. I assumed Shadowheart always turns against Shar in that scene if you do not interfere?
@@codyvandal2860 No, depends on various choices you've made along the way. Basically if you've made enough choices to sway her away from Shar, she'll disobey her. But if you haven't she'll kill Nightsong (assuming you have the spear on you).

@@codyvandal2860 think the only way she doesnt turn against her will if you let shadowheart pray at the shar statue with all the rats around it. I think if you pray there as her it locks her into killing. Of course swaying her away would help influence the decision but I believe thats the biggest thing to lock her into following Shar
@@CatWithThumb prayed at the statue and let her use every altar, she still came good in the end of her own accord.
Shar is pretty interesting as a deity. Evil gods are generally worshipped so they'll stay their hand, but Shar promises comfort, or at least survival, in her own darkness. This is why she's also worshipped by miners: they go into the darkness where no other gods will watch over them.
What about the dwarf or gnome gods ?

Shadowheart with the white hair is best girl. I know people are fond of Karlach but I really like the Shadowheart romance. You really get to know her and she is funny when she wants to be. Props to Larian for writing such a sweet romance. Her comments everytime you interact with her once you are in a relationship are so wholesome. She really learns to care a lot about you, dare I say even love you.
people are so fucking mean to Shadowheart when the poor girl has been brainwashed, abused and sent on basically a suicide mission. just because she has a bit of bite though, people demonise her.
I like the interaction when you gift her a Night Orchid. She'll gasp about how they're deadly poisonous if handled with bare hands, then just go "Just kidding lol"
They also made her the most difficult to romance since they knew she's by far the most attractive companion that everyone obviously wants to romance.
this!! I adore her character so much and her growth. I couldn't believe that people dislike her tbh she was just brainwashed into an evil cult basically and even at the beginning of the game she's nice, yet people call her "bitchy" because she likes her privacy I guess? I downloaded the game to romance karlach or astarion but of course now I'm permanently bound to shart lol I love her so much.

ironic that the thing you can say about children having to fend for themselves in the forest as part of selune's test is exactly what shadowheart was doing as a child in the flashbacks. Also nice touch giving shadowheart a choker with a moon symbol XD
She was born into a family of selunites. I can imagine that Shar's followers hunted them down in the middle of one such selunite initiation.
@@pppgggr She was literally kidnapped by Shar initiates during that ritual...her whole life she had been lied to and was raised among her captors to worship Shar. She also fears wolves because she was attacked by a wolf that same night. Her parents were held captive and used as leverage to ensure she did as she was instructed, and eventually had her memories of those events magically erased both as a means of keeping her docile and also to ensure she remained a loyal and devout worshiper of Shar. The enchantments that bound her parents were tied to her, such that every time they struggled to free themselves, Shadowheart would feel a sharp pain in her right hand. It was quite cruel and torturous what Shar and her followers did to that family
@@davidcrawford5324 literally everything you wrote is wrong. did you even read any of her dialogue in both gauntlet and baldurian temple of shar? she was lead to believe that wolf attacked her. it didn't, it was her father, wildshaped to a wolf protecting her on her selunite rite of going through woods alone. her parents were never used as leverage, she never knew who they were. she was made to believe she's an orphan by memory manipulation and often tortured them as part of her training not knowing who they were. she was supposed to be the perfect candidate to be the chosen of sharr which is why she was never allowed by mother superior to pursue her ambition of becoming a dark justiciar.

"Perhaps she's keen to see me corrupt you" gets more and more teasing the more you lead her away from Shar, and that kind of teasing is exactly why I love her.
I can't believe after arguing with her all this while she still choose to not kill Nightsong.
She can choose to kill her, its dependant on your dialogue with her and choices up to that point

Pretty sure her main reason was not because of her faith in you, but her lingering doubts in shar, plus the moonsongs comment on the wolf and her maybe knowing more about shadowheart.

If you give her the Shar Idol as a Selunite (Grymforge) She has special dialogue there as well "Kiss me like you hate me" :D Or something like that

It’s weird they have lines as “Paladin of X” but we don’t have any option to choose a deity as Paladin, it would be cool to have a deity like Tyr and have a special line
Paladin of devotion is the only subclass of paladin where you choose a deity, if i am not mistaken. Also, paladins of Tyr get special dialogue on Karlach introduction quest
Multiclassing Cleric and Paladin gives you that option too.

This is some great enemies to lovers stuff. Especially after it basically started with "My god could beat up your god"
I’ve absolutely adored romancing Shadowheart as a War cleric of Selune. I was worried their “enemies to lovers” wouldn’t get much enemies, but as soon as we found out she worships Shar, I got my own unique dialogue options. My favorite of which let me say we were compliments. My character felt a little betrayed at first at finding out Shadowheart is her natural enemy, but warmed up to the idea after hearing Shadowheart out about her goddess and hearing what she went through. My cleric doesn’t like Shar or her followers, especially after what they’ve done to her girl, but has chosen to support Shadowheart in whatever decisions she makes.
I love how this game really makes your character feel like a person. Like, I can completely imagine my clerics thoughts while making these decisions
As a Selunite Paladin I just always chose the most argumentative options lmao
I RPd a Barbarian who has 0 clue about gods and their stuff, however, has a nice knowledge of how to maneuver a social situation, and instead of being confrontative with her about Shar, he just chose to appeal to her nature as a Cleric of Shar. Ergo, he asked her about her goddess and faith, and used that to get closer and gaining her trust. When it came down to Nightsong, then he turned confrontative and tryed to convince her that killing her was not the best decision... And goddamn: I lost count of how many times I've savescummed to get a nat20 because my charisma modifier was 0 >XD
@@itsjonesh I did the exact same with my Barbarian, but I got it on the second try with a couple inspiration rerolls and...guidance from Shadowheart herself? I don't think Larian thought that interaction through

I always thought it was kinda weird that she's literally wearing Shar's symbols and it takes alot of time for you to figure it out.

my thoughts are as follows, without darkness there can be no light, nor without light darkness, Selune represents knowledge, life, redemption and more, but without the joy of life we cannot know the pain of loss, if the aspects that fuel Selune cease to be then so do the aspects that fuel Shar, and without the pain of loss we cannot truly appreciate the joy of life, in the end one cannot exist without the other, they balance each other like the yin and yang, for one to win they must also lose, it's a paradox, like Ouroboros eating it's own tail

I started playing this game and after I met all the characters I decided to romance Shadowheart, but gods does she creep me out when you're about to finish the Shar temple... She's so creepy when she's talking to Shar and being deceitful, thinking about killing Nightsong... and when you try to talk to her she's so mad. i want this act to finish its so depressing lol

Something I noticed about Shadowheart while romancing her as a Selunite myself is that when you tell her of Selunite initiation rites, Shadowheart gets VERY aggressively hostile, even though said rites match the description of one of her few remaining memories nearly identically. I feel like there's some *heavy* denial and defensiveness in her tone in retrospect.
if you are a Lathander cleric you can get special dialogue with Isobel when she blesses you
also a Paladin of Lathander response when you talk with bex but it is minor

Tried making a cleric of Selune in my last build. In the shadowfell during the nightsong scene, if you choose any of the Selune dialogue options, she really will kill the nightsong - thank gods I made a save beforehand just in case… so traumatizing.
If you find a Shar idol in the underdark you can give it to her and say "Kiss me like you hate me."

After reading every book in the Shar temple, I realized that it was genius on the part of the dark goddess to recruit by promising comfort. It’s so natural, that a broken person wants to disappear into safety and acceptance. To be in the shadows, a minimum of anxiety, painful expectations...To renounce and forget. Shar knows what to promise a heartbroken person. And this is...brilliant and terrible.
