NWO went from "lighting the fire" in wrestling to "that's still burning?"
Fucking hell 🤣🤣🤣 like "yo that dumpsters still burning you know"
@@PopeyeBjj86 It’s still is they rebranded themselves
It doesn’t seem like they had much a plan for it. I understand they wanted to allocate NITRO to NWO but what was the overall plan? Turn everyone NWO?
Scott Hall invading nitro still gives me goosebumps. He looked like a fucking badass cutting that promo. "You want a war? You're gonna get one''.
*One major thing that was missed:* The NWO was the first faction in history to hold the world titles of TWO major promotions at the same time, with Hogan and Muta holding the WCW World Title and the IWGP Heavyweight championship respectively. This was even more impressive as these weren't just big promotions but the second and third most important titles on the planet (behind the WWF title), a feat of this magnitude has never been achieved since.
one could argue that the WCW title was actually the most important title at that point
Yes, but this feat was overshadowed by their fantabulous collapse. An incredible feat, unto itself.
You should do the rise and fall of All Japan Pro Wrestling. They were big in the 80’s and 90’s and were up there with NJPW for the biggest promotion in Japan. But after Baba died, it seems they’ve basically died too.
They bounced back with Mutoh a year after the exodus and had mostly solid 00s until Mutoh went back to New Japan to put over Tanahashi. Then they managed to fuck things up again in 2013 with wrestle-1 exodus but they are still around and kicking
At the very least All Japan Pro Wrestling was at least the equal of New Japan Pro Wrestling and were better than The WWWF/WWF/WWE during the 1970's. 1980's and 1990's. Their Wrestling Style was more like The Best NWA Promotions: Very Athletic and Very Physical. After Losing so many Wrestlers to other Promotions over the last 20 Years. I would rank New Japan Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH and Dragon Gate above them now.
@@JuliusC1973 Noah was built on All Japan tradition and it is quite interesting to compare the transformation of the aesthetic. However, they had a hard time keeping it together after Misawa had died and old guard went away. Funnily enough, just like Mutoh saved All Japan in the 00s, he is now helping Noah to get through.
@@volodymyrbilyk555 Yes, Misawa was a huge lost.
@@JuliusC1973 it was his own undoing - Noah was overreliant on him and Kobashi and it wasn't like next generation were drawing as well. In the end - the man just couldn't hang it up when you should.
Hogan joining the group was a breath of fresh air
I know, right? It was so fresh and new when it happened!
I don't know if you mean when they had first joined up, or you are being sarcastic
🤣
Rise and fall of ECW please!
The group wasn’t as interesting anymore once Hogan left.
Always happy for more Ross in my life
Love this!! Thank you, Ross!! Can’t wait for another!
Lovely new series. Would love to see one about Ric Flair.
that would need several episodes alone.
The Rise and Fall of Whatculture/Defiant Wrestling or Lucha Underground
Some twat did a wcpw video. It's was full of errors and I think it got took down.
I really like this concept a lot! I'm interested to see what other topics you cover! I'd love to see an episode on the flash in the pan that was Dragon Gate USA :'(
There is a great write-up on it in wrestling observer. The whole thing was a giant mess
@@volodymyrbilyk555 WWE was actually punishing Hogan, Nash and Hall for leaving WWF for WCW in 1994 Hogan, Savage in 1995 and 1996 Hall and Nash. When they came back to WWE.
DX(Shawn Micheals, Triple H ,Rick Rude before Chyna joined later in 1997) was way better than the nWo to me. AND IF YOU'RE DOWN WITH THAT ...... WE'VE GOT TWO WORDS FOR YA... SUCK IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Rise and Fall of Bullet Club Is a good one, I think
Not really a fall but slide into irrelevance. New Japan suffers from factions for sake of factions. Chaos is still around although they mean nothing ever since Nakamura left. What was the endgame for Los ingobernables? Suzuki-gun is still kinda sorta, but they did nothing with it for ages. As for BC - Kenny's run overexposed it and then Jay was rushed into position and by the time he figured it out- no one cared - and that Evil thing was quite a jump the shark
Thanks for this Ross. You're sounding at top form
I love this history series you have done as of late, best wrestling CZcams channel imo
the best by a country mile.
If u want to see wrestling history try wrestling bios
@@coleymissions Funny way of saying Wrestlelamia, but sure.
Absolutely!! So glad they left what culture and started there own channel!
@@AzureRoxe Wrestlelamia has been hit or miss since hitting the million some series as wrestlers last days or behind the titantron are top notch some tops are really good too but like I said it can be hit or miss for me, I’m glad he’s doing this good tho totally deserved
If Hulk Hogan never join the NWO, it never would have been as big as it was. His heel turn was the biggest one in wrestling history. The fans were literally throwing garbage into the ring. Anyone saying otherwise is honestly lying to themselves.
Good shout for a series. Plenty of options to use. WCW, ECW, TNA/Impact, Ultimate Warrior and Bullet Club (yeah, they're still going but let's be honest- does anyone still think they're interesting?) are more obvious ones to use but sure there'll be a load of interesting ones featured.
Sounds like Ross doesn't give a shit through the whole video... and I loved every minute of it.
Same here
I’m pretty sure the NWO Hogan vs NWO Wolfpac was brought to its pinnacle when Sting joined the Pac. Only went downhill after.
When the NWO split into two factions that was the beginning of the end. It defeated the purpose of why NWO existed in the first place. Not to mention, Sting and Lex Luger joining the red & black. That was just dumb that babyfaces joined.
Starrcade '97 really was the beginning of the end. A year of buildup and they STILL shat the bed.
Really enjoyed that, and look forward to more.
God damnit Rossall, you popped me hard with WOOOAR GHAAAAMES
Good start to the series looking forward to more
Great Start to the new show Ross
A new series by Ross? That'll do me
This was an awesome watch ross keep it up king
New series with Ross, lovely lovely lovely🙏🏼
NWO vs DX
The dream match that never happened
bWo runs in and whoops everyone
@@nyghtmareinmi well i hope he likes paaaain
It kind of did when Triple H fought Sting.
Y'all clearly forgot about trips and sting. It's ok well forgive
When Shawn Michaels joined the NWO, I was thinking you fools have no idea how to handle this storyline. You just blew your load on potentially one of the hottest storylines in wrestling.
I don't think Louie Spicolli was ever an official nWo member. He was kind of Scott Hall's "young boy" that did his bidding without ever actually being inducted. If he hadn't tragically passed away he probably would have been a member but he died before that happened. If I recall correctly.
yeah, I only ever remember him wearing an Outsider's shirt and basically being Scott Halls personal assistant; similar to Disco Inferno a year later
Great video, Ross!
Damn I was just watching the segment where HBK joined the nWo
Would love to see a rise and fall of British wrestling from the 70s and 80s WOS era.
Football mate. That's what happened the numbers for football on the TV got so big that channel three wrote off all other sports.
The rise and fall of Mohamed hassan please !
So sad what happened to his career ):
Oh nice! New series!!
You should do the Nexus next
Hogan, Scott Hall, Nash, Randy Savage and Dennis Rodman are the definitive members of the N.W.O
Eh no.
That would be Hogan, hall, Nash, and syxx. Throw the giant in if you must. Everybody after that should never have been in
@@trentonmcclintock7836 I prefer Syxx or in this Case X-Pac belonged more in D-X than he did with the NWO and I'll agree with you on the Giant
I’ve actually missed Ross doing voiceovers
Love a new series.
The way he said “tooo sweeeeet” made me chuckle
New Cultaholic video lets goooo
Do the Four Horsemen next.
Yay, new Ross show!
Looking forward to the 5* wrestling episode
3:34 did he say Bonesaw? As in Bonesaw McGraw 😂😂😂
I wasnt ready to hear Ross in this kind of videos, and i was both taken off guard and pleasantly surprised ! Go Ross !
Another idea for a new series: top rivals of (insert famous wrestler here)
Reigns - fans
Cena - Orton and the fans
Kane/Taker - Ecah other
Austin/Rock - each other
Wyatt - creative
Charlotte - What's a rival?
RIP Scott Hall.
Wrestling was def different back in the day
Michael Clark Duncan and Thomas Lister AKA Deebo and Tyler mane Mr.T were wrestler
Tommy "Tiny" Lister Jr was Deebo in Friday. He was Zeus when he wrestled in the WWF. Tyler Mane was known as Big Sky when he was in WCW and he was trained by Stu Hart (Bret Hart's dad) in The Dungeon.
The fucking "Crimson Chin"!!!! I spit my drink out! Hahahaha
Enjoying the new content recently
Okay that’s just bloody creepy! I started playing Miitopia yesterday and as a laugh I made the founding members of the nWo into NPCs! Today this goes up! STOP READING MY MIND CULTAHOLIC!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Electric 6 reference at the start there?
Once the boss got involved then you knew it was gonna go down the tubes then 890 wrestlers in 57 different factions. Bleck
I am not sure I would call the NWO one of the greatest stables/factions in wrestling. Yes, they were influential, but great, no. Why? They had Virgil, Brutus Beefcake, Horace Hogan in it, those names alone toss it out of any great category. When it was Hall, Nash and Hogan, it was at its peak, but after that, the NWO went downhill.
That "too sweet" made my ears bleed
The rise and fall of Lucha Underground?
Dennis Rodman joining the group was the start of the end.
I think they added all those wrestlers so they key guys wouldnt have to work so many matches but would still get paid. And hoping nobody would notice. We noticed Hulk.
good video
Knowing Eric is from my hometown makes me think I would been on WCWs side for that reason alone 🤣
so weird to thin the NWO was 25 years ago. It was the best time to be a wrestling fan.
May I suggest The Nexus? Talk about wasted potential
The Rise and Fall of Vince Russo
Long live the tue king, of CZcams Wrestling community
How popular is the Nwo on mlb the show 21 my team is the Wolfpack and uses the Nwo logo
I like this video 😁
Homies, we’ve gotta upvote the piss out of these so Ross makes all of the moneys. Okay? good talk.
Too! Sweeee-ee-et 🤣
Not "Monday night Nitro" just "Monday Nitro."
EDIT And "Bash at the Beach" not "Bash of the Beach."
I suspect someone doesn't watch wrestling.
I haven’t watched yet.. but I’m skeptical seeing that this story is being told in less than 11 minutes.. 😅
The Rise and Fall of The Austin/Booker T Super Market Brawl. Be good for a comedic video.
... Disco was in The Wolfpac!?
Huge fan of all the series that you show specially the narration , sir this video was not up with all the others maybe he was too excited and was really fast , sir with all due respect , just said what I felt , rest you guys are amazing keep doing what you do it's amazing
WCW was lit back then
I liked this video
NWO started as Exodus and finished as coldplay
went from NWO 4 Life to what in the hell happened to this brilliant angle lol WCW messed this up so bad it's a shame within 2 years also in 1998
Hulk Hogan..I came up with the idea to go heel.
Hulk Hogan.. Eric Bichoff gave me the idea to go heel.
Hulk Hogan... The idea for me to go heel came from Kevin Nash.
Hulk Hogan... Vince Russo told me I was going heel..
thanks!
Starts at 2:01
so nothing about nWo japan?
Fake Sting had better matches than real Sting. Chono was cooler than entire American NWO combined. They barely did a thing as a unit because NJPW killed invasion gimmicks with uwfi feud and then the faction was there because new japan stopped caring by mid 98.
@@volodymyrbilyk555 and then there was the whole The Great Muta being in the nWo but not Keiji Mutoh storyline.
@@blackblood1645 oh yeah, it was kinda dumb.
Debiase, Syxx, & The Giant are Enough New Members.
The Giant was already stupid since they just cost him the title.
I love Ross.
What was initially an awesome idea start phasing out. And they never let any let any babyface get the upper hand. Sure Sting and Goldberg in the short term overcame them but still the NWo just kept growing and growing for the sake of it.
1 Minute and 30 Seconds until the video really starts is too long
hEllo.
Rise and Fall of Vic Grimes...
R.I.P Scott Hall 😇🤘
Rip Scott hall
Wait…is that…could it be…by god that’s gotta be… ITS WAR GAMES
"WTF Happened to the NWO"
I miss wcw
I stopped watching wrestling for years. Then I saw NWO beat up the wrestlers, refs, announcer, commentators, security, and grabbed mean gene! What kind of shit is this? Is what I thought. I thought the four horseman were over powered in the 80s.
I never knew Bischoff was from Detroit. That's too sweet👀
I love Ross
I don't care what anyone says. Bagwell was OVER
Real Human Beings, and some Real Heroes
NWO is a best teams ever
Damn you thunder lips!
Aces and Eights was better than NWO. David Arquette is the best WCW champion. Jeff Jarrett vs Hulk Hogan is 5-stars. Okay, I am gonna do a test. I am gonna say a series of dumb wrestling opinion and see if anyone still gets mad
Aces and eights kinda had endgame. It was stupid but conclusive. They got Bully Ray over and even somewhat Mr. Anderson
