- Originally formed over thirty five years ago, the Four Horsemen are still considered within the
professional wrestling industry to be the measuring stick as far as stables are concerned. Coming into existence in Jim Crocket promotions in 1985, the original Horsemen lineup consisted of
Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard and Ole and Arn Anderson, AKA the Minnesota Wrecking Crew...

Arn Anderson looked like that one cop in every '80s movie who drifts into a backwoods town and proceeds to kick ass.
(Four)
Bro yr fucking crazy 😂😂😂
You’re off the case Anderson! Hand in your badge and glock!
Or the cop in said backwoods town that would inevitably say something like “We don’t take kindly to strangers in these parts” to the protagonist.
I believe you meant to say Armed Anderson.
@@roban1012 Funny I somehow imagine Bischoff saying something like that.
The Horsemen vs Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA, and the Rock and Roll Express is what got me into wresting as a kid. Amazing how their fingerprints are still all over wrestling today.
That's an amazing lineup
Curt hennigs wcw career woulda been much better had he stayed in the horseman and not went to an already heavily stacked nwo...hennig was a perfect fit for the horsemen!!!!
You talk as if he had a choice.
Yes indeed Henning was the perfect fit
@@Sean_Wess...true no one had an opinion or choice besides Hogan and his cronies
@@christopherdavis6395 pptt😢😢😢😢😢
Having Hennig turn on the Horsemen after the emotional retirement speech by Arn, that was one of the worst booking decisions WCW ever made.
Imagine a horseman group in early 90s wwf, Ric Flair, mr perfect, The brain busters. Another missed opportunity
Mid-90s for the WWF probably wouldn't have been detrimental
'92 WWF is hard to imagine a heel group running the show. That's not Vince's style at the time. Would have been great especially with all the young heroes to chase them and get their shine from them. Bret, Shawn, Owen, etc. Even Taker could benefit from that.
Flair, Arn, Tully, and Barry were the Best incarnation of the Horsemen
And the most racist
@@ralphking425 take that race sh!t somewhere else.
@@KastleKrossface he's not wrong.
Disagree the original Ole, Arn, Ric and Tully were the best
Those are my Horsemen
Hands down the faction I want my future squad to follow in the footsteps of!
The 4 Horsemen will always be my all time favorite faction!
The 4 horsemen were at their peak in JCP & when ole wasn’t a horseman anymore the decline began immediately!
The decline was stopped when Barry joined the group
Another Rise and Fall video, another "pointless" comment to express that I enjoy these videos immensely as a source of interesting information and peaceful commentary to play as I start my day. Keep at it, lads!
@@bryanelam7431 I appreciate it mate. I was just being petty after some troll said as such about a similar comment I made last weekend.
@@williamrossell5151 positivity isn’t pointless. You never know what someone’s going through, one kind word can mean the whole world.
@@doctorsuave Exactly! This is why I love this community so much!
At least you recognized its pointless
You are a true wrestling fan
I also enjoy hearing about past wrestlers and what happened to them
Love when Ross does the voiceovers
The whole original 4 are some of my all time favs
If Chyna was inducted into the hall of fame through DX then does that mean Chirs Benoit is technically in the HoF as apart of the Hoursmen?
No because I believe it was the original 4 horsemen inducted
@@MrGinja123 Actually, it wasn't the original 4 horsemen. Ole Anderson wanted no part of the WWE Hall of Fame and Vince didn't want him, so it was Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard and Barry Windham who were inducted.
They hated on my man tully blanchard how many wrestlers did drugs, who he is and how great he was speaks for it self, tully was the glue, even the horseman said Tully's family, turned against ole, kayfabe or not tully was a genius, and now he's managing FTR, showing his brilliance and directing the pinnacle
Perfect timing for this video after Arn and Tully looked about ready to come to blows on Dynamite this past Wednesday.
Babydoll was never their manager, she was Tullys valet and Tully was managed by JJ who became the manager for all of the 4 Horseman when they became a faction. JJ was present from day 1.
Tully Blanchard Enterprises
Four Horsemen also hold the measuring stick for best stable theme.
So I did the math... Arn Anderson was born in 1958. In 1985, when the Horsemen formed and he was a "hot young prospect", he would've been 27, so yes... he was actually a hot young prospect and yet he looked like he was 50.
The last formations made me sad and angry. Wasted on a nothing feud with hogan and his croonies, then the NWO (hogan and his croonies again). It still annoys me to this day how the Horsemen never got to send their recipient for the Arm promo. Still a overall good review and retrospective!
I really appreciate this videos! It's also really helpful for the people who are newer to wrestling and might not know all of the history behind stables in general.
Kendall Windham is considered a Horsemen by most pro wrestling historians. For example Dick Bourne, who writes for Mid-Atlantic Gateway, as well as many Mid-Atlantic territory related books has a book on the 4 Horsemen where he mentions Kendall Windham being a member of the Horsemen.
Another important documentary. Thanks lads 👍👍
I am not that clued up on my wrestling history so I really love these kind of videos. And Tom's Wrestling Curiosities podcast.
Big bears fan here. Love Mongo as a horsemen. No other pro athletes could have done it
Great video, Ross! Brings back many fond memories.
All my schoolmates were watching Hulk Hogan & The Junkyard Dog while I was watching The Four Horsemen, Dusty, Magnum & The Road Warriors. They had no idea who I was talking about.
I will never understand people who put down Paul Roma being in the group while defending the addition of Mongo. I'm not even sure why people put down Roma to begin with, when just as a viewer the only thing the guy was missing was a proper push and maybe some more mic experience. Mongo sucked even at that.
4:00 imagine running out of time, so you gotta pull a line out of your ass, and Arn pulls THAT out.
The Four Horsemen were the ultimate team of heels in the 80's of the NWA. They were the reason why I watched wrestling back then. Rock n Roll Express, Midnight Express, British Bulldogs, Steamboat & Youngblood, Road Warriors, Fabulous Freebirds, Koloffs, etc.
It's a shame Ole Anderson fell out with pretty much everyone he ever met, in addition to getting ill like he did, because I thought he was one of the scariest-looking dudes in wrestling.
I found this entertaining and enjoyable. Thank you.
The Four Horsemen from 1985 to 1988 became so awesome and those are my favorite incarnations which included Ole Anderson, Lex Luger and Barry Windham
The horsemen should’ve been major players in wcw for years and probably would’ve.
If not for the Bs politics of hogan and nash.
The problem with latter-day Four Horsemen was that they didn't have anyone in the group able to give 'em one of these, followed by one of those.
4 Horseman 4 Life! 😲 they dominated and won every world and tag team title that ever excisted! R.I.P. Chris Benoye!
Mr. Perfect soooo should of stayed a Horsemen. In the nWo he was lost in the gold but as a member of the Horsemen he could of given WCW the Star power it needed and helped make the fight a little less one sided.
I never knew lex and sting were horseman… those 2 were my favorite tag team
The Horsemen with Windham are greatest Faction ever in my opinion based on ability as they were all at the very least good on the mic and in the ring.
I love this series!
Imagine what a WWF 4 Horseman could have looked like in 1991/1992.... Flair, Perfect, Razor and HBK. With Bobby The Brain Heenan as the mouthpiece.
Love this Video Great One Guys!!!!
About the only 4 guys in that era in any promotion who could actually wrestle
The Horseman are not the Horseman without Tully Blanchard.
I always wanted Dean Malenko, Midnight Express to join Flair with Jim Cornett as the manager
Outstanding vid about the best (imo) stable ever in spite of several weak-link members along the way.
I played 1 game of softball with Sid...good guy. True statement.
Original 4 Horsemen were awesome.
Tully was the best Horsemen.
Windham version of the Horsemen had such potential.
Great take on Arn!
I'm sure most of us wonder if Ric Flair had his pick of the new wrestlers who would he choose to be one of the horsemen
GREATEST EVER!!! THERE IS NO OTHER EVEN CLOSE
"Sid was the drizzlin' shits"- Ole
This is great a video about horsemen business
My favorite was with Brian pillman Ric Flair Arn Anderson Chris Benoit really started to watch WCW first professional wrestling t-shirt that I bought for myself Four Horsemen t-shirt
I've always believed that a great stable has about a four or five year shelf life. The pinnacle of the Horsemen with the criminally underrated Barry Wyndham in my eyes. When that group split up it never reached those height again.
The Dungeon of Doom. They were the 90s version of ‘Paul Jones’ Army’ from back in the 80s in JCP/Mid-Atlantic. Did any of those wrestlers in those groups ever win a match against a top guy? I don’t think they did.
Great work
Please do one of these on the von Erich family and the free birds.
The final lineup was the best IMO. Just a shame Arn couldn't wrestle at that stage.
So much horsemen business going on in this video
When Berry joined that's was the best.
Great video, Rossy drip drip x
Arn Anderson has looked 40 years old for the last 40 years
I'm not a big fan of rybacks in ring work. But damn I would give anything to make love to him ❤
Windhams addition was the best version by far......he could do it All
The Ice Man Dan Meilinko Chris Benoye Rick Flair and Arn Anderson! Whoooo! Kicking ass taking titles and names!
I need to buy that guys shirt @2:00
Well done, sir.
What happened after The 4 Horseman? Whooo! Evealoution is a mystery! Flair Orton Batasta and HHH!
Evolution was the quintessential Four Horsemen tribute.
It was nice to see Barry Windham get his due in 2012, when he was inducted into the WWE HoF.
BW was an outstanding in ring talent and played his character perfectly.
I remain an apologist for this faction - the greatest of heel stables. I still believe Sting betrayed them by signing a contract to wrestle Flair for the World Title whilst a member. Membership in the Horsemen had its rules and Sting broke them. He deserved ten times worse than what he got...And he didn't look like Sting of the band the Police...He looked like the drummer Stewart Copeland.
😂It's a running joke with Conrad, co-host on Jeff Jarrett's podcast, that he was never a Horseman!👌
The four horsemen is the Greatest wrestling stable of all time Diamonds are forever
The Horseman no longer existed after Tully left in my book.
Shouldn't it be "The rise & fall & rise & fall & rise & fall of the Four Horsemen".
Tell me why at 8:53 HHH when he made the group Evolution had his hair done the same way as Flair did back in the day during the Ruthless Aggression Era.
correction.... when Tully returned to WCW for the Horsemen reunion, he failed a drug test and was released. It had nothing to do with "failed negotiations".
Them mocking Anderson made his thing seem fake how fake you ask today is the day I find out it was real
Sid was awesome!
and right now we got Arn&Tully going at it in 2021!!
There is a lot of fire in these youngsters ~ Gorilla Monsoon
I enjoy these videos
Don't forget MLW's The Dynasty.
this video makes me want to conduct some Horsemen Business... 😏
I remember the 4 horseman as Ric flair,Arn Anderson, Chris beniot and someone else …..🤔
no shit, Arn was 27 when the Horsemen formed. It's like he aged horribly from 15-25 and then just stopped aging for the next 20 years.
wulda loved to see flair join AEW and put something together with arn n tully. i know the culdnt wrestle but still culda done something with that.
Shoutout to Jatkins, the real MVP.
I dont know the 1996-1997 horseman with injured flair, injured AA, Benoit, JJ, and mongo was pretty horrible something every week
I’ve meet both the Andersons good men quite and respectful. They would come into the place I cooked at. I was a huge fan just made my life to get to cook them breakfast
Back in The80's...
If 4 Dudes Ran Around Together, They Called ThemSelves "TheFourHorseMen", Due to "Wrestlers" on Network Television Using TheSame Name for Their "Clique"...or Team.
I'll always respect the 4 horsemen...as a kid I hated them...i was a lil stinger not a hulkamaniac...i only received nwa...later wcw at my home for a long time...didnt get to watch wwe till i was 15 or 16....despite the lineup the horseman r the best faction ever in my opinion....the original is usually the one most folks look to and they were awesome but my fav lineup was flair/arn anderson/tully blanchard/and Barry windham....then ya had the flair/arn anderson/Paul roma/and ole anderson(for like 1 appearance) was pretty bad....they bounced back later though by adding brian pillman and Chris benoit....then mongo came...and I still respected them....even the final lineup...i feel was not used as they shoulda been used with flair/benoit/dean malenko/mongo/and arn in the jj Dillon role....several factions have came about and mirrored or attempted to mirror the horseman....fortune in tna/impact came close....aj styles/kazarian/Bobby roode/and James storm were a great faction and worked very well together....even evolution in wwe with triple h/ric flair/Randy orton/and Batista was a horsemen like group....and now in aew we have the pinnacle...they have 5 not 4 but it's clear they r horsemen like...even their theme song is a lil similar...with mjf/shawn spears/wardlow/and FTR....w/ original horseman tully blanchard as their manager....its a good faction....
Always Ready to Take care of some Horseman Business
Why such hate on Paul Roma? He had some solid skills and even unique moves for the time. Maybe he lacked intelligence & a mic riffing ability, but Sid was there & didn't get the same negativity... Excellent video though!
Arn Anderson had full beard before puberty
I feel sorry for Paul Roma.he was great in Power and Glory
The very first day for Arn and Tully in the WWF was the same day Jacques Rougeau punched out Dynamite Kid.
Well....he sucker punched Dynamite....and Dynamite never left his feet. Then the Rougeaus fled in fear. Wouldn't call that punching him out.
Instead of known as the enforcer Arn Anderson should be known as the Arn "The Asshole" Anderson and Tully should be known as Tully "The Two-Face" Blanchard. I wonder why Ric Flair no longer talks to those two anymore? Perhaps not coming to the funeral or sending a sympathy card to the Flair family. Because of the passing of Reid Flair has something to do with it?
Wait whar!!!!! The Horsemen without Barry.... not even right !!!!
They should've had the free birds vs the horsemen and for the 4th Freebird Chris Jericho a rocker.
Bring back wtf moments cultaholic
Some were good, some were great.. Some contained Paul Roma... Ouch
The Four Horsemen were just entourage for Ric Flair!
I'm not a big fan of rybacks in ring work. But damn I would give anything to make love to him ❤
