Team Reptile brings you Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, 1 second per second of highly advanced funkstyle. In a world from the mind of Dion Koster, where self-styled crews are equipped with personal boostpacks, new heights of graffiti are reached. Start your own cypher and dance, paint, trick, face off with the cops and stake your claim to the extrusions and cavities of a sprawling metropolis in an alternate future set to the musical brainwaves of Hideki Naganuma.
Yes! Skateboarding will be one of the move styles, there will still be more ways to get around.
There needs to be a genre of indie games called "screw it, I'll do it myself". This looks stunning. The best thing in the indie showcase, in my opinion.

I always dreamed of a JSR where you could choose characters with roller skates, skateboards, BMX, and parkour. Each having it's own unique stats and playstyle

Bruh the OG jet set radio future sound track was my childhood. I love that they're are bringing this back, makes me feel like a kid again
I would be too if it weren't for the fact that he also did the music for Hover: Revolt of Gamers, and that game was being heralded as the spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio and the gameplay never lived up to the hype...
Graphics were pretty, and music was good, but perfect gameplay is the foundation for a Jet Set Radio game... perfect gameplay in synchronization with music and art style.
So I'd withhold my excitement, but it does look promising from the trailers, let's hope it lives up to the hype.

@@ColorMeDoubleZ Jet Set at a game was inspired by Tony Hawk. And SEGA's big cousin to Jet Set which was Ollie King came to be for similar reasons. So it could been either one of those, but considering it's not a downhill racer and statements from the devs, it was definitely Tony Hawk as a source of inspiration.
@@GSEleven I did say MORE jsr than pro skater, obviously you can trace it back to thps and there's actual skating confirmed but specifically the music, graphical style, focus on graffiti and street counter culture Imply they're undoubtedly going for more jsr vibes than pro skater
@@ColorMeDoubleZ I wasn't talking about the game as an entirety, it's clear that that was JSR as the main source of inspiration. I was referring to the inclusion of the skateboard as a movement style. But even then, I could likely be wrong. That's what I assumed the original reply was referring to.

This feels like they saw the homebrew tabletop rule system for a game based on JSR that included roller blades, skateboards, bikes, and parkour, and they said "Fuck it, we'll do it ourselves". And I'm only even more excited!

My best guess: Depending on wether your running, skating, or wearing roller-skates (assuming they are in this game), your character is going to handle differently. I imaging running on foot will make it much easier to turn while skating would have a wider turn. There would probably be some trade off for all this, idk it’s all guessing right now.

Skates, skateboarding, and on-foot? I've literally been dreaming of that concept but a part of me doesn't think they'll do it. If they do, I will lose my voice, screaming like a kid who dropped their ice cream cone.

No matter how obviously based off the earlier product it is, as long as all the assets included are original to BRC, they can't do a thing. And as others have pointed out, SEGA seems to welcome fan projects with open arms, let alone spiritual successors like this one.

Im expecting at least 1 or 2 characters to appear in here. It would absolutely killer if this got SEGA's praising and we got an actual Jet Set Radio character as crossover material.
I hope that can happen so some of the Jet Set Radio characters like Beat & Gum etc. can be playable in the game or as character skins.

The in sync dancing in JSR was one of my favorite parts of the game

I absolutely love the aesthetic of your games Team Reptile! They definitely bring back nostalgia for things like Jet Set Radio and Air Gear! I love it!
Having a skateboard makes this game become more of Jet Set Radio x Tony Hawk's Pro Skater spiritual successor.

I love this! There was a game i played when I was younger on the ps2 named “yanya cabalista” and this has a similar feel in terms of character design and also setting. So cool to see this artstyle! Reminds me of that and a bit of ddr. All compliments btw.

How the wheels dont move on the skateboard is perfect attention to detail for this retro style
