For anyone not aware, this new archetype is free if you claim it by March 26th, 2024. To get it for free, go to the Ebberon Hall of Heroes and talk to the dragon Xatheral on the bottom floor. After March 26th, you'll have to get it by being VIP or by buying it in the store so make sure you claim it.
@@AxelAlexK thanks. I havent watched the video fully, but would you say its doable to a first life on it? Been in the mood of playing a half-orc fighter but i looove anything dragon related too and i love flexibility. (Ps, usually play with a dark elf hunter (the one you made a build for hardcore season) since it can do most of anything non magic related solo )
@@rafalst Yes, Dragon Lord is a fantastic choice for a 1st life character. Past lives of course will make the character even better but are not necessary at all for Dragon Lord.
I think the stat effects are cool I just would rather see something different cosmetically for the character, but hey that's just my opinion, to each their own.
one thing i found uot i really like is taking dire charge for all the reason, but insted of LD mantle go for fatesinger mantle. while is it very good for melee anyway, the damage can proc on the Dragon's Roar (that should have been harmless and only stun) and cause nice sonic damage to all the enemies in its gigantic range. like Greater Shout with no SP cost that have great stun DC.
I went falchion. loving the strike through with the feat stunning blow, imp trip, and sunder. also whirlwind attack. once tier 5 with dragon roar, you can lock down, and auto crit alot.. I dont have sunder soul yet, but I will love it for a +50% damage cone attack alone.
Thing is, Sunder Soul does get +50% damage but a small range and the 20 second cooldown is pretty long. It's not really a cone attack, it's just a short range attack right in front of you. If you just want it for the damage there's better options, such as Boulder's Might in Fury of the Wild that gives +50% damage with only a 6 second cooldown.
The buff for others needs to be like 1 min per dragonlord level. Or just make it an aura buff around you. It’s basically worthless and not used 99% of the time
I've found the capstone to be very "wonky" as well. Getting it to proc, even in high end reaper, is a roll of the dice. I just take it for the passives tbh.
Do you have post processing video effects disabled under adv graphics settings? This affects the aura visuals. Try turning it on and off to see the difference. I've heard people mention this but I haven't seen it myself. I've been in fire the whole time though, might be a visual bug with one of the other elements maybe?
Sadly, Dire Charge's trip and sunder are coded as slightly different abilities so they can't synergies with anything. Not with improved trip / sunder, and not with Sunder Soul. 😢
This was my idea at first, then realized the capstone is coded to only work with sunder and improved sunder. Besides, dragon roar is so good it would be redundant anyway and not near worth giving up adrenaline for dire charge when you already have an incredible AoE helpless CC ability anyway.
That mass insta-kill is the most obnoxious ability for other people in party. I don't understand how they're mega-nerfing damage output from EDs and then introduce a class that wipes whole packs of mobs even on R10s with a single click. Ridiculous.
It doesn't wipe whole packs of mobs. It's just coded as a single target melee attack I'm pretty sure, I've never had it proc more than once at a time. And you have to prep with sunder or improved sunder for it to work, which are both single target abilities so it can't in all practically be used as an AoE even if it was possible.
@@AxelAlexK From experience, if you have enough strikethrough you can Sunder 3 enemies (maybe more) and then auto-kill them all. very nice when playing solo, but in a party thats actually not that useful because both abilities use the slow sunder animation so it takes like 5 seconds to do, and what mob ever survived 5 seconds fighting an entire party?
Now if the auto-kill would work on enemies you Sundered with Dire Charge, that might have the potential of being a little more annoying as you say because you can charge forward ahead of the party and knock, sunder and trip 10 enemies (so fun!) and then use the auto kill to take out like 2-3 of them. Still, most group in epics have more than that so the casters can join later and kill them all with whatever AOE (as usual).
@@BlightCaster Oh ok, gotcha that makes sense then with strike through. I'm playing my dragon lord as TWF so wouldn't have noticed. But yeah, same issue though as you pointed out the insta kill isn't exactly practical in the majority of situations.
Performs super well in epics. I'm using mainly fury of the wild. Once you get the healing from there it really solves the only weakness the class has. It's a soloing beast of a tree. Been breezing through low reaper. Haven't played it as much in groups yet.
Are you hitting them with sunder first? You have to prep them with sunder first before using the instakill, sunder soul only works on sundered enemies. It also seems to take a little time for sunder to apply, I think I've been hitting them before sunder took effect (though I'm not sure).
Overall, definitely yes, though my cleric will always be the most fun (for me). They're not trying to do all the same roles though so in a sense it's hard to compare them fairly.
? They never stopped healing melee cleric from being good not sure what you're referring to. I mean it's never been top of the meta by any means but it's very viable.

Is it account wide or per character?

Hey Axel if the monster is sundered by anyone else would your epic strike also still apply?
Axel: Insta-kill isn't good since you kill everything in 2 hits anyway.
SSG: Lets nerf Dragon Breath to do less damage than level 7 spells.
They always release overpowered stuff that bad players will deny it to death and than nerf few months laters. I'm pretty sure its done on purpose.
@@davdev793 You mean Years. Since Epics came out Dragonbreath has been decent.
@@VorpalSnak yet now they released a new tree that synerigizes with and trows some Spotlight on it.
Yeah, so, I love the Aura. I love that cosmetic circle as you call it. Big fan.

It sounds really good. I have two half-orc and aasimar lives to go through, I hope I get to play it before it gets the warlock treatment.
Yeah, I can see a whole lot of player's splashing into this; this certainly will be the year of the dragon...

Good call on Lead the Charge and Shield Charge..."clunky" is a great word for a lot of slow animations I never use no matter how good or useful.
I like Dragon Lord, I went 2 handed fighter (pure) for the first go around.
Dragon Lord's abilities remind me of Dragon Shaman class from Player's Handbook 2 (D&D 3.5).
Playing a Warhammer single weapon specialist tactics focused ofc and omg loving it
Try the other capstone, the one from Ravager. It's dragonfightalicious.
I should experiment with that. I haven't messed around enough with incorporating ravager.
The buff for others needs to be like 1 min per dragonlord level. Or just make it an aura buff around you. It’s basically worthless and not used 99% of the time
Gotta give it a try
Im planning for SDK handaxe swashbuckler dragonlord. Lots of tactics, high freeze dcs, and swinging those chains.

I wasn’t too interested, but now I’m thinking a Monk Dragonlord.
whats up with the 10 ft white square around my toon.....I've also seen this on other chars also
I saw that too!

8:20 doesn't Ldreadnought has a mass sunder along with trips and stuns? That capstone could sinergize but depends on the range of sounder soul

Seems like they did something to it in the patch this past week. Getting lots of multi procs on my TWF character now for the instakill.
I have not played it yet though I am close to doing epic life so I may next.
Loved the video!
