Yummm! You're inspiring me to run to the kitchen :-)
Go for it!
Do they only sell these in Florida? I didn’t find them in California. I’m cooking these now but with monk fruit/erythotol sweetener. Hope it works!
❤
Thanks for the love!
How much of the sugar, salt, cinnamon and almonds did you use?
We used 1 cup sugar, a dash of salt, 4 teaspoons cinnamon, and 4 cups of almonds. You can find the full recipe in the description. Just click "SHOW MORE". You can also find it on our website at thedisneydish.com/cinnamon-glazed-almonds/. Our site is new but there will me a lot more recipes coming.
Can I make them ahead of time and reheat them in the oven? Or will it not be as good as fresh?
These are great reheated. We've even brought them home from our Disney trip and reheated them at home.
Yes. They heat up really well.
Can you make this without the egg whites? Or what’s a good substitute?
Yes! Egg whites work fine.
I've honestly never tried. The egg whites bind the sugar to the nuts and helps create the crunch. I've read that aquafaba is a good substitute, but I'm not familiar with it personally. If I find something that works, I'll add it here. If you do, please let us know.
I followed to a tee and the nuts were burned. Maybe the convection oven was too hot? Should I have started with raw nuts instead of roasted?
I know your question is a month old but if you haven't got a answer yet...yes, use raw almonds. Also, if you use convection, lower the temp by 25⁰ or just bake at the started temp without the convection fans running, non convection. Good luck.
@@markusaralius Thank you for jumping in.
We make these all the time but have never used raw. We typically use the bake setting. I would agree that lowering the temp if using a convection oven is a good suggestion. The other reason I would not suggest the raw nuts is that this is only meant to dry the coating. It is not mean to cook nuts, so I would be careful with that.
How much sugar?, how much cinnamon ?
It's 1 cup sugar and 4 teaspoons of cinnamon. You can find the entire recipe in the description, or go to our website at thedisneydish.com
When do you add cinnamon?? It’s not in the video!
The cinnamon gets added right after the nuts. You'll see it at 1:26.
Almonds - roasted? Unroasted?
What’s best?
When we make these, we get the big bag of almonds from Costco. They are not roasted and not salted.
That’s what I’m using! From Costco!
@@sandrabast7080 Perfect! You will love these. Exactly like those you get in Disney. And they smell wonderful! Let me know what you think
@@TheDisneyDish they worked out perfectly with the monk fruit sweetener! If you put this recipe out as a Keto recipe, you’d get mega hits!
