- Candied almonds you normally buy from a street vendor cart at the fair. They smell heavenly and taste just as good! This recipe is very easy!

Is there a common substitute for molasses?
I used to ask my mom to bring these home from her conferences all the time when I was younger. Now I can make them for she and I! Thank you!!
You're welcome! Enjoy!
What have I been missing living in Canada all these years?!? Thank you lovely and kind flannel lady! These are incredible.
I have made these several times. We love them. It is super easy. When I invested in a metal spatula, it made cooking these candied almonds easier.
I’m excited to try this recipe out! Great job on the video and thank you for the thorough breakdown!
You are so welcome!
me and my father made thease during the quarantine, WOW! amazing! its like im a kid again at disney eating thease. Thanks a ton for sharing this.

I've seen these made in different ways
Thanks for sharing haven't done them yet, but will
Thanks flannel, I'm a fleece fan as well
Thanks! :-)
Just wanted to let you know that I just made some of these today and they're very tasty 😋 thank you so much for sharing !
i will be making these for christmas gifts this year
👍
So I had these for the first time at Global Village from a kiosk called Austrian Roasted Almonds. I bought 3 packets, 2 of salted caramel almonds and 1 of the pistachio coasted almonds. I wish I could post a photo! But they are so darn addictive, I literally pop a few in my mouth even before going to bed 😂 now they are getting over and I've been on the hunt in YT for the best recipe to make these. I've gotta try this recipe soon 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the video, appreciate it 🙏🏽
Love the recipe!
Thank you!
Beautiful stuff
Thank you!
Looks yummy actually love it :)
wonder woman Thank you! 😊
Flannel Acres...oh my that crunch
Oh yes!
Thanks for mentioning the type of almonds (Raw) to use. I couldn't find it in any other recipes. There's a difference between raw and roasted almonds.
Glad to be helpful!
Ty! Gonna !make for Xmas gifts
how would i adjust the baking for roasted almonds? i was gifted a 2 lb bag.
Loved the recipe I haven't seen any recipes with molasses in them so I can't wait to try your's. Wonder if they taste different from mine. Thanks so much for sharring Merry Christmas and God Bless 🎁
You're welcome! And same to you! :-)
Brown sugar would eliminate the need for molasses.
@@FlannelAcres I made these for Christmas for my family and my neighbors that were amazing ! The best ever thank you for taking the time for this wonderful recipe and sharring it loved the malassas in it .God bless and Merry Late Christmas to you and your family 🙏💜
@@NurseVickyVic Ever since I read the ingredients on a package of brown sugar, I haven't bought it. Sugar and molasses, that's it. My brown sugar always hardened into an impossible brick. If I use them separately, it works much, much better. And probably cheaper. ;-)
Parchment paper can be wet-wring out & it will conform to any pan-even stays up on sides. Great for breads.
Yummy!
So good!
Can I substitute something for the molasses... Like honey or....?
I have all the ingredients except the molasses
can we use honey instead of molasses?
Hi. Both you and them almonds look great! What’s the shelf life like? The almonds I mean 😆
RADIN SYAH Haha, thanks! I'm not sure how long the almonds are good for since they get eaten up so quickly. But I imagine if you keep them in a sealed container, a few months.
I cant have egg can i just leave it out? Also, can i use roasted almonds if im cooking them on the stove or do u still suggest raw?
Hmmm, I wonder if an egg white substitute would work. That would be my first guess. Also, with roasted almonds, you'll have to watch them to make sure they don't get too toasted. :-)
No lie this looks bomb as fuuuuuuuu
Is there anything that I can use instead of molasses?
Maybe corn syrup?
Thanks for the recipe, am making this today. BTW, I am pretty sure I heard a chicken cackle in this video. Right?
I think it was my dog making some weird noises. She probably wanted to go outside. Lol
Can you cut down on the cooking time by using pre-roasted almonds?? Have you tried that before?? Thanks!!
I haven't tried that before, so I'm not really sure. I guess I'd be afraid of the almonds getting too brown before the coating has a chance to crustify. If that's not a word, it should be. Lol!
@@FlannelAcres lol, yes it should be! Well, I'm going to try them this weekend, so I'll let you know how they come out. :)
@@FlannelAcres They turned out GREAT! They only took about 3 - 15 minute sessions to get done. They were delicious, thank you for the recipe!!
@@christyjones1289 Fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing!
Can i use white corn syrup instead of molasses?
I believe you can. It will have a little less flavor, but should still be good. :-)
@@FlannelAcres thanks ;)
If I have no access to molasses, is there a substitute I can use?
Brown sugar
Brown sugar has molasses in it so maybe u can use just brown sugar instead of white
Stir them for an hour and a half?
Oops, I must've forgotten a verbal comma in that spot. #excusethegrammar :-)
Easiest way to separate egg white and yolk is use an empty water bottle, squeeze it and suck up the yolk with it. 👌😁
Clever!
Drew Bond No, the easiest way is to crack the egg into your hand and let the whites run through your fingers. Wash your hands first though. A slotted spoon works well, too.
Will this work with cashews as well?
I'm not sure, but I would think so.
I wonder if you could use maple syrup? Maybe too overwhelming.....
Mine are not "crisping up". Did I do something wrong? How could one mess this up, it's so simple lol
Hmm, I'm not sure. I think mine don't get fully crisp until they have completely cooled. Do yours stay sticky? Or is it the actual nuts that are chewy?
@@FlannelAcres they are slightly crunchy, but nothing like all of the videos I've watched- no crust of sugar. Maybe I didn't have enough egg white? Oh well, I'll try again :)
@@krstnmarie3 did you ever sort this out?
(first thought is your oven's calibration is off ... meaning "250 F" isn't 250 F. my mom's oven is at least 25 degrees off.)
Is that 250 degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit? Also what about if you have a fan oven?
I tried cooking it, Its on Fahrenheit
Hi can I have ur recipes I can't understand u cuz I am deaf my closed caption too fast I try get what u said pls send me ur recipes I would like try that one 💖
I'm sorry for the late reply! My recipes can be found on my website FlannelAcres. com
A bagbof this at the fair is 4.00 for 1 dollar more you buy a bag of roastes almonds and do the rest
Yes, and you can tweak the flavor how you want, too. :-)
Yup, but make sure you start with raw almonds (not roasted).
Except these are better than street vendor almonds - they're addicting!
addictive...
can you double the recipe?
Pour the egg from the shell into your hand. Let the white run thru your fingers. The yolk won't break. Then put it into separate bowl and add to another egg and tell everyone it's a 2 yolk egg. Have some fun while making the job easier for you. Advice from experienced 81 yr old cook.
Why egg whites?
250F? :)
Yes Fahrenheit the U.S only use the old measures in everything. So glad my measures have both markings since so many recipes are from the U.S.
most cooks who post from other countries will include both measures.
or just ask google to convert for you! 😉👍 Enjoy!!
That's not how you make candied almonds... All you need is a pot, water, almonds, sugar, cinnamon and maybe some vanilla... Egg shouldn't come anywhere near those almonds and neither does it "at the fair"...
What a boring world it would be if there were only one way of making candied nuts. I'd rather make them with eggs and see the interesting comments it brings.
#passthepopcorn #eggsareneat
Flannel Acres Totally agree. If the recipe couldn't change, every country will have 10 recipes, or less, ja ja. The recipes are for change it to your taste, to your budget, and to the ingredients you have.
More than one way to skin a cat. Or an almond...
