I haven’t even watched the video yet but wanted to say thank you straight away for posting an 856 non UTC review, I think its the only one on CZcams, currently deciding between this and a U50 ❤
Me too buddy, I go back and forth between these two as well. Currently leaning u50 for the bezel but the 856 makes a great case for itself as a more versatile everyday tool watch.
AGREED! with everything you shared. My only three gripes about the 556 series. 1. The date window is tiny. 2. The second black back of hand when moving the black portion for a few seconds the hour and minute hands white section interfere with the atheistic. Suggestion trim secondhand tail or paint a little bit less white on the hour and minute hands. 3. (both series 556,856) COME ON SINN! These lines would be perfect if the second hand was not a different shade of the hands. OR lume the second hand, its also a good way to make sure you watch is opperating. T)
Thanks for your comment! To address your points 1. the date window is different (!) on the 555a and 556i (!!) check out my comparative review video. 2. I think the back of the hand (tail) is needed to counterbalance and I like the look but point taken. 3. Agree on this point. But still great great watches. 👍🏽
Great to see your video. Today I gave away my 556a and still contemplating about getting the 856. my thoughts: the dial symmetry is better on the 856 (size of numbers vs diameter). And the features are great making this like the „real“ explorer I in the sense of engineering and durability first. That one when working at space X or going for submarine southpole trip. Also - but that’s personal- the 40 mm is better for most larger wrists. What I like about the 556a is the bracelet. It looks so good in standard steel. And the tegimented version just looks stealthy/almost military in comparison and thus it misses the dressier aspect (which would be an art of Rolex: making rugged watches looking good in a dressier scenario). Finally I think both watches deserve cosc specs. But my 556a was 9s too fast. I think the 856 sellita 300-1 are better regulated (top and sometimes even cosc).
I like the proportions of this better than the 556. What do you think about the 856 vs the Tudor Ranger? With 2nd hand luxury watch prices dropping they're not a million miles away from each other now.
@@soundsoserious oh I've seen it, that's why I asked because I knew you'd had experience with both! The dial pops on the Sinn more and it definitely looks a bit more purpose driven.

My pleasure! Hope you enjoy the video. Check out my U50 review as well!

Beautiful watch. Love that finish.
Thanks. It’s really unique for sure.

I actually did a review of the Tudor Ranger, check it out. Head-to-head the Sinn wins out for me.

What size wrist do you have? I love this watch, tossing up between this or the 857 but worried it could be too big…
16cm
Why is the seconds hand not moving??
Keep watching!
