I’m a lifelong Republican and right now I would vote Obama in again in a heartbeat. We need his style, his impeccable mannerisms and his coherency. We Miss You ❤
Then you’re no Republican.
Too bad Republicans didn't think that way when he WAS President
@@stevestites9762 not anymore, at least. The Republican party has changed a LOT in the past decade or so. Ever watch Reagan and GHWB debate immigration in the presidential debates?
Me too. In a second. I would vote for him again and again. The world was not perfect while he was President but it was a world where everything was so much easier and simpler. I miss him so much.
I'm from Germany and I would even argue that the entire world needs Obama's sanity to stop the current threat to fragile Democracies worldwide. Obama said it eloquently that what happens in America has an effect on the rest of the world. If Trump comes back our extreme far-right party - that literally parrots Trumpism for 7 years - will rise more. Fortunately we have a stable multiple party system that limits the threat and general sense of responsibility due to the past but not all other countries are as aware. Please support the Democrats, even if they seem disappointing to one support them for the aforementioned reasons.
I’d forgot what coherency from a POTUS sounds like.
Regardless of political party, I think there are many of us who feel the same way as you :-)
His ability to speak and carry his message is amazing.

@@inajosmood Such statements need to be backed by verifiable facts.
You stole my words, partner.
As a kid I grew up in a conservative town where everyone voted McCain and Romney. Even I voted Romney a month after I turned 18. I just accepted what people said about not liking Obama. But I remember watching him and Mrs. Obama on TV and their girls and wondering why exactly people don’t like them as people - regardless of his policies. I remember during science class in 8th grade he gave a speech that was televised to all school children across the country and I thought he had nice things to say, even though I knew I wasn’t *supposed* to like him. Even when I was 20 and living in DC I didn’t pay much attention to Obama or politics beyond visiting the White House. It wasn’t until I started my international relations degree (and also saw how bad trump was) in 2017 that I became politically involved and kind of mourned that I lived through 8 years of Obama without appreciating any of it. I’m glad he’s still very politically active though and I always enjoy watching his interviews either on shows like this or the Pod Save America podcast. He wasn’t perfect, and no president has been perfect, but he was what I think we needed at the time. The calm before the storm.
"The calm before the storm." Very well said.
I remember when he gave that speech because Republicans lost their minds with oBaMa Is iDoCtRiNaTiNg OuR cHiLdReN!!! He was never able to give a school-wide speech again. (Because they knew there would be kids just like *you* questioning *them*).
It was complacency before the storm.

Yay! Glad you voted!
For me, it was my 8th grade U.S. history teacher. The last thing he said us on the last day of school was "If there's an election you're eligible to vote in-whether it's for U.S. President or city dogcatcher-and I find out you haven't voted, I will come to your house, break down your door, and personally drag you to the polls." I'm 26 and have voted in every election since 😂
One of my favorite off-the-cuff Obama quotes: "Don't boo. VOTE." 💯

Vote is a hoax. Fake ballots and fake machines
The thing I love most about President Obama is how positive and optimistic he always is. He preaches hope and presents solutions to every problem no matter how difficult ❤
except for the working class. sigh
I believe Jim Jones was the same way.
President Obama is such a delight of grace, intelligence, humor, and calm. Even though he and Trevor are discussing serious national/world issues, I come away from it all feeling more relaxed than how I started. The president's chill vibes are unsurpassable. 😎
President Obama tried hard to change America, to make it more like the rest of the world. That's why he passed Obama care, the stimulus, Dodd-Frank, and the deal with Iran. It is a systematic effort to change America.
Deep voices are more relaxing. I've also found certain accents to relax me slightly more due to their unique vowel and consonant sounds. I personally am super picky with voices to the point where I thought I could never listen to audiobooks and it turned out I hadn't discovered Hugh Frasier's talents. I've listened to everything he narrated and often can fall asleep to it easily on low volume when my brain won't relax on its own. Another factor is speed, and youtube makes it easy to change the speed of videos so you can have a slower read speed and lower pitch closer to Obama's way of speaking sometimes by adjusting that alone which I frequently do for faster readers or female voices which are naturally higher pitched.
Im telling you....his voice was so calming I never bothered to look into anything he did as president and let me tell you, I couldn't be more proud of the president he was. His image...I don't think we've ever had a president with a better image.
Obama is so brilliant and comes off professorial when he speaks. Listening to him, you always feel like you're learning something. Plus he's so witty and funny too then it becomes entertaining. As opposed to the guy that came after (#45) who had the opposite effect. Listening to that guy had a dumbing down effect on everybody and that was just so aggravating. To this day, it still boggles my mind how we went from someone as intelligent and classy as Obama to the idiot we had after.
The guy who laughed at old ladies getting beaten for breaching Covid restrictions at his private jet climate change party and told everyone to CHIP IN 600, 60 or 6- 666. See Jonathan Kleck Obama Sun Rising. Nothing about this giy is true, neither his birth certificate nor his falsified social security and FBI records.
How long was Trevor waiting to pull that half and half joke? Funniest line of the interview. Respect!
Usually Pres Obama is about a half sentence ahead in all conversations. First time I have seen him truly surprised (and then appreciative). You’re right - Great line
I read this comment before it came, and it still got me. So great. Man I'm gonna miss him :')

you mean michael and barack obama?
I didn't even feel that the interview was 30 minutes. I honestly think I can listen to them for hours. The topics, the banter, man this is how interviews should be
I was at the Fetterman rally at Temple U standing like 15ft in front of him and it felt like 5s. He spoke for at least 20-30 minutes. He destroyed Oz and Mastriano without any effort and praised Wawa.
Can I ask what you specifically thought was interesting or whatnot?
When they were talking about capitalism for instance, they both seemed not really knowledgeable on the subject, especially since they didn’t know the term “market capitalism” which the Scandinavians label themselves as.
I’m a heavy researcher, so maybe that’s why I thought it was surface level points.
@@sve8140 But they both didn’t know the term?
I believe it’s highly important to talk about these political terms because most people are either confused or don’t study enough.
Especially socialism, they didn’t get into it, so it was odd because it’s one of the most misconstrued terms in the political spectrum.
And again, I just didn’t find the answers I was looking for…and it’s not like I would’ve anyway. Maybe if he was on Joe Rogan it would’ve been more grounded.
VoidX one can find these topics interesting even without having a lot of knowledge about it. As a researcher I think you know that you cannot talk to the public the same way you do in your research paper. But I agree this was really, even for these standards, too vague but I guess they could not go into detail as they do not have enough time.

I could never in a million years imagine Donald or Joe expressing themselves so eloquently and coherently.
Most people couldn't express themselves that we'll, but your post's like saying "I could never imagine my 98 year old gramps or my 30 year old wife being as fit as that Olympic swimmer." The statement is true, but it's still misleading.
Joe couldn’t coherent

@@Julia-lk8jn What? Are you saying something about Barack that I'm not grasping? He's 61 years old. Is that the big difference between him and the other 2?
@@Julia-lk8jn Yep I also get a bit irritated at what I believe mostly is well meaning bothsiderism as if acknowledging minor common failures could placate those committed to ignore violent criminal sedition .
I know we're all starstruck by Obama's personality in contrast with today's politics but looking beyond that... as someone who has lived in and around some deeply conservative communities for years, the points that Obama makes in first two thirds of this interview are THE roadmap for progressives to bridge the political divide and cool down American politics. And it is progressives who have to do the bridging; leaders on the far right profit from polarization, and centrists don't have much power in our current system. Hopefully the right people are listening.
The left has been placating the right for decades and the right has only gotten worse as a result. You don't get a bully's respect by giving them your lunch money everyday. It's time for the left to lead on the issues because in every blind poll, left wing policies are always more popular than conservatives.
Trevor, you will certainly be missed. you have a gift for the world because you bring the world to what you do
Well said
Young people need to understand that we're never going to vote one time & solve the issues. We have to vote, & vote again, & push them forward towards increasing change.
Age makes little difference in understanding. Research and learning is the key.
It's useless when the Banks and Corporations buy politicians.
Exactly, it has to be consistent

Wow...from a perspective of a non-American, this man is surely one of the top leaders in the world in how clearly he has his views and ideas and explanations thought out, values he represents, and then how well, eloquently and in a relatable way he can articulate them, without being neither simplistic, nor too convoluted...I think any country should be extremely proud to have a man like this represent it in the world- even if it was a while ago now, congratulations on that again to the USA. Barack is what Bill Clinton used to be when he had the nations respect... Democrats could use him as a spokesman to bump up their popularity. He's charismatic, intelligent, articulate, and lovable. Main difference is he didn't allow his lovability to take advantage of young females therefore tarnish his reputation. Even as a polarizing figure Barack kept his integrity!!!!

I don’t know the next host of the daily show, but let me just say to the void that is the internet: thank you for your service, Mr. Noah. You made this show worth watching every night as I moved to America at 18 to go to school for journalism after growing up on a US military base watching your predecessor on the show while I was a kid.
