  • This is the same 2008 Street Bob in my other videos. This will be it's final form (probably).

    The rear fender is from a 2009 and newer Road King. I had to weld two of them together to get the correct length. The exhaust is from a 2009 Electra Glide. Since a Dyna motor is tilted back vs the FLH motor tilted forward, the rear down tube had to be shortened and the front down tube had to be pie-cut to get the correct angle. The collector had to be stretched 3 inches because the Dyna/Softail engine/transmission is 3 inches longer than an FLH. I then built a bracket that supports the mufflers to the rear stock exhaust hanger and the rear engine isolator (engine mount). I added a polished aluminum tube connecting the mufflers behind the wheel as a stiffener. It all moves freely with the engine and has been trouble free for 4 years and a couple of cross country rides.

    I have a similar bike 85 fxe swingarm frame with the s and s panhead engine, I think the only original parts are the frame and 4spd, strong motor and I love the 4spd

    Beautiful work, I have also seen some of your posts on the HD forum. I really want to put a FL front end on a 07' super glide to make it look like 1958/59 Duo Glide. Was there any special fitting/cutting involved to get the front end to fit your street bob? Thanks, Tommy

    Nice bike, how did you hook up the horn?

    • @AFMM3
      @AFMM3  Před 7 lety

      The horn comes as two pieces with a short rubber hose to connect them. This wasn't going to work as they weren't aligned with each other. I used 1/2" copper tubing with some 45 degree elbows on each side and didn't solder the center section for future removal if necessary.

    Do you have a write up on how you did your exhaust??

    • @AFMM3
      @AFMM3  Před 6 lety

      The exhaust is from a 2009 FLHT. That is the only year with the correct O2 sensors for a 2008 Street Bob. The Dyna engine is tilted back where a FLHT engine is tilted forward so a little shortening of the rear down tube was required along with a re-angle of the front. The collector was stretched 3 inches because a Dyna engine is 3 inches longer than the touring engine. I made my own muffler bracket that attaches to the original exhaust bracket on the engine and to the rear engine isolator. The whole exhaust moves with the engine and has been rock solid for several years now.

    • @AFMM3
      @AFMM3  Před 6 lety

      It is made from 2 Road King Fenders welded together.

      This was a styling exercise, not a restoration.

      Check the price for one and maybe he wanted more modern tech with a vintage look
