Loved the candy aspect of his personality, but the best ever Ben Chew moment was his little wiggle in the chair dance after Amber mentioned Kate Moss. Ben turns back to fist pump to Camille, then returns to facing forward in his chair and he does the greatest wobble wobble thing like a 3rd grader who just got back a test with an A+ on it and just has so much glee inside him that he does a little dance in his seat. It's hysterical and completely perfect. If you don't know what I am going on about, please please check it out. It's the best!
You can clearly see that in the first clip Ben Chew is so stunned by how Amber is lying and gaslighting everything and you can see Johnny Depp next to him nodding his head like 'I know, this is the Amber I've been dealing with for years'

Ben Chew was the mastermind of the Depp team. Quite, joyful, professional and above all a role model for coaches of young attorneys. He was great enough to give each member of his team an opportunity to get the hands on in the trial so they could learn and build confidence not like some technically inapt lady looking for 15 minutes of fame that were never achieved despite the one man show she carried out during this trial. Ben! you rock!
The fact that he gave the associates some really significant, high-profile work *at trial* really did surprise me, as an associate who used to used to work at a different biglaw firm. That was *not* my experience there-the partners did all the in-court argument/questioning (except for pro bono cases). I know for our very large corporate clients who have hundreds of million dollars on the line at trial that they probably only want partners doing the questioning, but this case got much more media attention and Ben Chew still let all the other attorneys handle all the witnesses. I guess that also says something about JD as well, because he easily could have said no way to that. (Am I remembering correctly that aside from depos, Ben did not actually do any questioning at trial?)
When one of the younger attorneys finished questioning one of their witnesses and sat back down, Ben, Johnny and the rest of the team all congratulated her and told her good job. That was so nice to see!
@@darter81 he questioned Kate Moss. But apart from that he didn't question anyone else. Although he was the one arguing against Heards teams request for an acquittal, even then he only needed about 5 minutes to hand Heard her ass and destroy the other side.
I believe it was Adam Waldman who masterminded the case. Ben Chew continued with the strategy.

The whole point of this case was for Amber to finally tell her side of the alleged allegations and it backfired. Making up stories and scenarios and staging scenes to get this man in trouble is down right dirty.
No, this case was brought by Johnny because Amber continued to lie about him.
She was counting on him to be too embarrassed to admit in public that he married an abusive and physically violent person.
I think he tried to move on but finally decided to stand up to this psycho and show the world the parts she conveniently left out.
The point of the trial was for Johnny to finally tell _his_ side. Amber had already told hers.
That one where Amber claims the guy wasn't there, and Chew's just like "Whaaaaa???" And JD's just like, "yep, that's what she's like."
While everyone focused on Camille, whom I really like as wellby the way but ben was also really great man. His facial expressions had me laughing several times, what a team 😂

That was in a text to someone else and in reference to her pursuing legal battles and committing defamation. Johnny sits calmly by, meanwhile we can tell everything running through Ben's mind just through his facial expressions!! 😂😂😂 We need one major video compilation of his reactions 😁😁 I also laughed the few times he gave Johnny a little back slap to get him to stop laughing...Ben checks out the jury, gives Johnny a swat-tap and tells him to sit up (Two very cute catches: 1) when Malcomb explained he "would have remembered if he'd seen Johnny's..." and 2) when JD was waving Whitney over). You could always see Ben's eye on the jury to make sure their composure was appropriate--and then he'd get worked up! Pure fantastic fun 😂😂😂
