This is not an accident but a marketing stunt by Sukhoi to sell Su35's. Su30MKI with canards and 3D thrust vectoring can outmaneuver missiles, it is the king of the dogfighters. Newer fighters are built to excel at BVR - Su35 without canards only to reduce RCS and to reduce all the weight of the hydraulics to improve BVR performance.

I think on that video he was actually comparing a Su27 with Rafale instead of Su35. the very first version of su35 was just an upgraded su27. and Su35's sustained turned rate is 29degree/second.
With the induction of more powerful engine in Su30 mki, it is possible to achieve same or even higher thrust to weight ratio than Su35...then Su30 mki can out-manuver Su35 even in WVR dogfights
We urgently need to start the upgrade of Sukhoi, we can't let our front line fighter with such huge number to loose the edge... Following russian package is required - AL41 Engine + Erbis E radar. Good news is Astra and MICA are already integrated (Meteror would have been great but it's not possible to integrate the same on Sukhoi), balance avionics can be from DRDO....

You cannot compare MKI with SM because their avionics are different, cockpit is different, and MKI contain mostly Indian and Israeli avionics. And I know this all because I live near Tezpur Air Force Base and many day I see doing their close combat dogfight training, and deploying flares. And you don't blame MKI because I am true friend of that jet.

As per, indian sukhoi it is HAL made and its having indigenious electronic counterparts also, which are far ahead of Su-35...
