When I install different height wall cabinets such as the microwave cabinet in the middle, I preassemble them upside down on the floor and use my long level to line up the faceframes. I then put shims to fill the gap in the back of the cabinets between the middle and the side cabinets. This creates a solid assembly that can be easily lifted into place by one person and you don't have to add an additional support for the microwave cabinet. You can still add your molding backers when you flip the cabinets right side up.

Wow, good job! Way to persevere. I took on a basement finishing project, which included converting a wet bar area into a kitchenette, and the whole thing is taking a lot longer than I thought it would. I'm now at just over a year, and still quite a few tasks left to do before installing the kitchen cabinets (test and finish the plumbing, finish the electrical, instal insulation & hang drywall on ceiling and walls). I already have the cabinets, though! They are waiting in their RTA flat-pack boxes. I, too, felt this video was incredibly helpful!! Good luck with the rest of your home improvement project! Keep at it!

And next, the handles. Back in 2005 when my wife and I were having our house built they wanted to charge us about $1500 to put in the hardware. After about a year or so I picked up all that I needed for $200 at Costco (plus extras), made a quick template, and installed them all over the house in about 90 minutes.

We in Еurope hang cabinets and construct them in very different and much easy to install way..
All upper ones have a hanger at upper left and right sides... and all of them are hung on a metal rail... all the hangers have adjustments for up and down and in and out so i can hand them alone without any support like you put ...
also the different size in front when the face frame is and the back i don't like.... that way face can be not in one plain if you don't do a great job shimming all the cabinets

I feel like it would drive me nuts to have all that wasted space by the dishwasher but I also feel like you created additional space by adding the upper cabinet on the end so it seems to all work out great. That little space will make an awesome coffee bar (I think I may have even heard you say that was the plan for it). Another great video 👍

Good idea using the wall cabinet. I wanted a custom island in my kitchen but bought wolf preassembled cabinets. So I added a set of wall cabinets behind the bases, added a 1/8" panel to cover the sides. If you bought preassembled cabinets, you never would have found a wall cabinet without a damaged side rear edge, and that setup would never work. That's probably a big benefit of RTAs.
