Great video! I'd love to see how Trex decking or other composite decking boards are made. Thank you.
Amazing idea! And I have connections in that industry :) Thanks for watching till the end Shaun.
The smallest details really are important in the kitchen. We appreciate your attention to all the details throughout your video.
Don't understand what was wrong with previous cabinets? What is the need to throw them to the dumpster and then installing the same cabinets?😮
I thought of the same thing 😅 its the same cabinet, why throw the old one away? Just change the handle and your done
And destroying that tile! Are you kidding! He was just doing what the customer wanted… but that was just big time waste! Imho
25,000 for everything? No way! You’re going to be booked up for the next 10 years in the blink of an eye!
If only I stuck to kitchen remodels only haha :) Thanks so much for watching and the kind words.
The devil is in the details and you knocked it out of the park.. I was blown away at how much pride you take in your work and charge reasonable prices . I'm someone who works hard but does not make much money. I always felt like I could never have my dream kitchen but to see that there is good people out there like you that can make that dream come true made my day. Wishing you all the best....
I know someone who will do this for 6k
@@Letsgo-ch8yryeah and I’m sure the work is in the details. You get what you pay for. I’d rather pay someone more money and get a better result. $6,000k that just screams quick flip. lol
That backer board removal looked brutal 😅. Nice work as always 🙌
LOL! Ooooo the pain of home remodel sometimes. At least it can provide some entertainment value now haha! Thanks for watching buddy and keep up the great work on your channel.
Wish you guys were in NY! Amazing job!
This was so satisfying, I love how precious and professional you are 😮 I've have never owned a home when I do I would love for you to remodel it 😍
Outstanding tutorial, you shared a lot of great information. This will definitely help me when I tackle my own kitchen remodel. Thank you
this was a great video! Thanks so much for including all of these details, I personally wouldn’t have even thought about!
Bro this video was amazing. I rarely watch videos at this length in its entirety. You do incredible work.
Great video! Outstanding Work.
Are we allowed to offer feedback to this beautiful build?
Pot faucet on range backsplash, center all backsplash outlets, combo box light switch and outlet left of range, add electrical outlet to island on each end.
My takeaway from kitchen remodels. Again, excellent work and explanation video!!!
Always appreciate constructive feedback. Thanks so much for the input and I'll have to keep that in mind for the future. Greatly appreciate the support.
Doesn’t the pot filler get greasy ? Also yet another water line to potentially fail later down the road. That’s the only reason I haven’t added one
Pot fillers are expensive and pointless, and against code in a lot of places
Awesome video.. so detailed and informative. Learned a few things!
Looks incredible
Great video, I feel like I can do follow you and DIY my kitchen either, good job!
Awesome guys thanks more please
Amazing video !
what a beautiful kitchen
Wow beautiful work.
Thanks so much for watching Danny.
Outstanding!
Thanks so much for watching and all the support Steven.
Amazing video as always !! I appreciate the hard work and detailed videos you provide. I would say be mindful of the heat from the gas stove and the microwave I removed mine because it was too much heat and made me nervous.
Really?! Never heared of that issue before. I'll have to look into that further. Thanks for the heads up and watching.
Awesome transfomation! Thanks for showing all that went into it. Question: how is the countertop butting up and flush with your window working out for you? I am considering a very similar detail on my kitchen remodel and am wondering (maybe worrying) if with constant splashes and whipe-downs the window will take harm over time?
You are fking awesome! I'm in a wheelchair and I need to have my base cabinets with pull out "trays" , but I live in an apartment!!
Awesome project. Reminds me that after 8 years of delaminating laminate that we need our kitchen done as well! Are you for hire, lol! 🙃
Another great video. How do you choose your projects? I’m in Seattle and have a front yard project, similar to some of your other videos, that I’m looking for help with.
Beautiful.
Thanks so much for watching and all the support.
Fantastic
“I’d hate to be the guy who has to rip this floor up!” -the guy who installed the tile (probably)
LOL! That for sure happend haha! Thanks so much for watching.
45 minutes? If that's a dream please don't wake me up! (Even tho it's 01:44 CET)
LOL! Extra long today thats for sure haha. Thanks so much for watching.
@@BYOTools Thank you for the wonderful videos on this channel
so how much was all the material needed including the tools minus the slab cutter?
Beautiful! Can you tell me what kitchen design program you used? I’m trying to find a good one but every program requires that you buy it bf knowing if it is right for you. The free versions are useless.
Why do you need to remove the cement board? I’ve never done hardwood floors
Newbie DIYer here. When is inspections to be done and when are they needed?
Amazing work and video production. The weird cut outs with the backsplash feels like a travesty though. Kinda defeats the purpose of the stone backsplash if you aren't going to take it all the way up. I'm guessing this was to avoid dealing with the wall outlets.
supercool!
Thanks so much for watching and your continued support
Never have I ever seen an Arm Jack lifting tool before!! How come it wasn’t listed on the Tool List, kind sir? :)
Great looking kitchen however that sink is set to far back. Look at 40:36. My back hurts just thinking about washing dishes in it.
Do the countertop shop also do the installation, or you do it yourself? How much is the installation? Why can't they drill the faucet holes in the shop? How long did it take for the whole thing?
Always fun and informative to watch your videos! This is exactly what I need done to my kitchen, unfortunately down here in Portland so can’t get your help with it. Any recommendations on finding a reliable contractor?
Thanks so much for watching and the continued support. My in laws are down in Portland and they did a kitchen remodel somewhat recently. I'll ask who they used.
Here's a contractor that did my In-Laws Kitchen Remodel. He did an amazing job: www.rollinghillsremodeling.com
You’re the man, very much appreciate this. I’ll give them a look. Thanks again!
Great vid. 😊
What is the name of the lifting tool at 1:31?
love how he keeps saying "we" when the counter top guys come in. I think you meant "they"
The Royal "WE" I'm referring to LoL! Thanks for watching.
26:34 I like to take scrap pieces, use them to find the exact angle, then cut the finished pieces
Do you guys have any changes coming in regarding engineered stone like this? In Australia, it looks like these products will be banned, as too many cases of silicosis, and workers/employers not taking all the right precautions.
Not that I know of but yes you definitely need to always wear a proper mask/respirator when working with these types of countertops and cutting them/grinding. So are all quartz countertops being band in Australia?
@@BYOTools yes, as of 1 July 2024, an order is made to prohibit the use, supply and manufacture of all engineered stone.
Where did you source those cabinets from? Looks great!
Links are in the video description but here it is just incase you can't find it. Thanks so much for watching: www.piuskb.com/
@@BYOTools the cabinets are made by Base Wood Metro Factory International located in Binan Laguna Philippines. The plywood has a substantial amount of formaldehyde in it and the cheap finish won't hold up for very long. It is a "you get what you pay for" product.
Where did you go for the custom cabinets?
I'm looking to either build my own, or purchase.
Jk. Just saw it in the description 😂😂
Bro you took the job for 25,000.00, you paid 10,000.00 for the cabinets there’s counter tops, flooring ,labor just a couple of big ticket items, did you make any profit or was this for a friend or family member?
$75K?!?! Contractors need to just be put in the corner to think about what they have done.
Can you explain why you didn’t lay plywood under the stove as you did under base cabinets and dishwasher? Or did I miss it? I paused the video and didn’t see it. I’m learning to do my own kit. Thank you.
I understand that wood floor is laid under a range and refrigerator, so no need to rais that up.
Very good job. Can you come to Michigan and do my small kitchen been try to get it done now over 5 years company want to charge to much. I am 66yrs
I’m sure you adjusted the hinges to align those doors, but my OCD at 20:48
😊
I did. Watch at the tail end of the video after the countertops are installed. You'll feel better haha :)
Nice build and video. Caeserstone is banned here in Australia as of 1st of July though due to serious health concerns for workers. I was loving all the water fed machines but the video still ended with some dude hand abrading/polishing with no face mask. That said, I believe the dust getting through PPE is part of the reason for the ban.
I am giving that sink 8 years until silicone let go of the grip, and drop down on the floor. Without MOUNTING BRACKETS that installation is doomed to fail. It happened to me with my undermount sink installed by a company that installed quartz countertops.
Why do you think a professional outfit like the one would install it this way? I'm going to rely on the experts in this circumstance and hope that they know what they are doing. Maybe I missed the clips being installed when filming so I'll double check next time I'm at the house. Luckily I have another project coming up with this client.
@@BYOTools I am giving you my experience. "Professionals" do not want to install mounting brackets since it is a pain in you know where. Squeezing tube of silicone in 10 min, beats 1-2 hours of installing brackets + silicone. If you plan to have "forever house" do plan to install under the sink mounting brackets. (now after me re-doing it all what "professionals" did, my sink is supported with brackets + silicone) Grease and dirt and pressure does increase in time causing silicone to "give". Solely your plastic piping under the sink, that is meant for sewer water, is not there to support full weight of you trying to scrub that pot. If you really use your kitchen, (you or your wife) do install brackets. If you are "UBER eats family" with showcase kitchen, leave it as it is. Will last to you 15 years.
What is heith?
I wish someone could count how many times he said, "cabinet" in this video
Your hired where are you located I’m in Florida.
Looks great - however NEC requires an electrical outlet on all kitchen islands, so this is not to code. It's a bugbear for me because my place doesn't have one.. haha
Not in 2023. Read the new code.
@@eamcbmsc 2023 requires pop up electrical outlets? Either way, it’s a really bad idea not to include them
@@TheducksOrg no it doesn’t. You can read section 210.52(c)(2). Outlets are no longer required.
@@eamcbmsc what a regressive change! Having to run cables over floors is such a safety hazard. Lazy electricians must have lobbied for it 😒
@@TheducksOrg it’s definitely a step backward but 🤷
👍
The cabinet face frames seem to be an inch or more thick. Unusual.
I may look like that but they are less then an 1" thick. They are nice and solid though. Thanks for watching.
What a handsome man! OMG I am in love.
I would cry if I had tile and it was replaced with engineered wood, especially in a wet area like a kitchen.
All high end kitchens use wood. Engineered wood can even be put in a bathroom. It's incredibly resilient to water. I prefer tile myself, but wood is the go to for a luxury kitchen.
where are you located?
Greater Seattle area. Thanks for watching Tristan.
Do you service Vancouver wa or have a recommendation?
🙏👏👍💪
Thanks for all the support along the way.
Such a skinny island..
You sure saved them a lot of money, but did you make any profit at all? Just wondering 🤔
Good questions Jonathan and luckily for me I consider myself more of a content creator than a contractor these days. I get paid multiple different ways so I'm not worried about making a ton on the project itself. I just give the client my hourly rate and as long as they agree to that I'm happy to save the client money in the end.
Isn't this the same kitchen you renovated about a year ago? It looks very similar 😀 Either way, great video !
40k for cabinets 😮. Buy your own table saw and start cutting. Even if you mess up every even number of plywood sheets, you will come out on top
Man this kitchen was already perfectly fine, could have just used a paint makeover - I wish I could have just received the waste to reuse
An ice/floor scraper would have made quicker work of that.
"Quartz"
Oh shit you guys are in Seattle? If you can save me $50k on my kitchen I'm in
That floor is awful
1st😂
Well done :) Hope you enjoyed the video Dave.
Can you please call it laminate? It's not nice to insinuate that it's lame. 😢
Dudes gonna get silicosis without a mask … so sad 😢
Looks nice.
General comment on your voice over - I think you take "we, us" etc. to an extreme when describing how everything is done. As an example describing the countertop guys, its not really a "we" as you are technically not involved in it?
I understand that you want your viewers to feel connected and part of the team - I just think you are taking it a bit too far. Not everything needs to be "we" based.
Height does not end in "th", so pronouncing it "heigth" isn't helpful.
Those microwaves look ugly.. Also look dangerous for elderly and children.
Tip for future scripts, you use words like "extremely" and "perfectly" way too often and in places where it isn't really necessary, I'd tone that down a little
just out of curiosity, wouldn't it look better with floor paved first then installation of the cabinets and table?
I am going through a kitchen remodel, and if using a floating vinyl floor, it should not be installed under cabinets (to allow for expansion and movement). The kick plate and island back panel covers up the edge of the floor. The plywood under cabinets maintains correct cabinet height.
@@ColoradoCarl1 it's too fragile to hold the cabinet?
@@foreignstory The cabinet weight would prevent a floating vinyl floor from moving and expanding / contracting over time, so I think the floor may buckle.
@@ColoradoCarl1 i see, thank you. so the cabinet should sit right on the substrate ?
Some recommend placing the cabinets on plywood the same thickness as the flooring, so they will have the standard height.
