    What I liked about the conference was that they talked a lot about youth and the process which if that is the case, I hope they really mean that they’re gonna try to really rebuild this team rather than go star searching or star hoping. I liked what they said about Claxton. He is far too young to let walk out the door without trying to hold onto him.
    However, in all the talk about youth, there was seemingly lack of admission that you have a bunch of players in the roster that really don’t fit the youth timeline. bridges is gonna be what 27 years old Cam Johnson 28 years old, DFS, Ben Simmons all players who are in the we need to contend now Window. So there are two different roster construction visions that do not make connect and marks really needs to choose a path this off-season.

    Welp we may be battling Washington for last place for a few seasons depending on which draft picks/players we can get. No expectations.

    I wish Jordi good luck. It wont be a day at the beach turning the Nets fortune around, even in the best of circumstances. Very few first time head coaches could accomplish what the management and fan base expect/hope he could do in his first season. Win consistently. Any that think otherwise is just wishful thinking. It remain to be seen whether he'll be a savior or just another sacrificial lamb like the two previous head coaches Jacque Vaugh and Kevin Ollie. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong but I don't think it a matter of if but when things go south next season, it will be a consolation with Ben's contract off the books plus other thing could happen that'll increase our cap space for the 2025-2026 season. At this time, its possible the Marks will be replaced and also Jordi. After all, a new GM would want to hire his own hand picked head coach. Should that happen, the whole process could start from scratch...again..

      @@michaelcammarata1677 Hello Michael.. I'm trying to be realistic after taking everything into consideration. My conclusion about Jordi's fortune is based on a Herculean effort it's going to take to turn the team around in the time frame for the management and the fan base to appreciate.. Neither have patience. History has shown that. I'll always be angry about how unceremoniously Jacque Vaughn was fired in the first year of a 4 year contract and regardless of who try to justify it with redundant talking points, it wont change my feelings. Kevin Ollie didn't do any better as his replacement and neither will first year head coach Jordi. I'll be glad if I'm wrong....I doubt I will be.

      @@claudesmith9422I think the Nets will do better than last year……that shouldn’t be hard to do. The team has a lot of young talent so in my view there are some positive possibilities. I would just like to see them win 5 more games next year than this year. For better or worse, I don’t think the organization will continue to play musical chairs with coaches. That is counterproductive. They will give Jordi a chance to make his mark.

    • @claudesmith9422
      @claudesmith9422 Před měsícem

      @@michaelcammarata1677 It's going to be interesting to see whether the Nets fan base get fed up with Jordi if the team don't have just as good or better win/loss record in the same time frame as Jacque Vaughn and if Marks replace him the same way. First year head coaches coming into an environment as unstable as the Nets spells a poor seasons. There's too many "ifs" that haven't been addressed. I don't base my optimism on the positive press conference comments by Jordi and especially not by Marks. I think the Nets will give Jordi just this season and decide his fate...Marks also. If things go side ways, they'll both probably will be gone by the end of next season.

    Adam crushing it as always. Agree with everything here except I want claxton gone for picks to keep rebuilding. He has zero offensive game and can't guard any 4/5s. Reached his peak already and isn't getting any thicker anytime soon. Go get sengun or a passing big to strerch the floor instead of wasting $20M on a SF masquerading as a C

      He reminds me of Sean Williams during the Jason Kidd era. Although williams was a better shot blocker. I'd take claxton back for $15M, but clowney can do everything Claxton can for a whole lot less $$. Commit to the rebuild and trade clax for picks that we so desperately need until phx collapses In a few years

      I agree with you 100% Claxton is a waste of time, can't shoot, can't push any big men around. Never going to get much better. I think Sean marks has a thing about being bigger than everybody else on the team, including the coach!
