- There is a ton of news coming out of Cleveland right now and some of it suggests that it isn’t a foregone conclusion Donovan Mitchell is traded this offseason. It could be that the team moves on from Darius Garland instead. I would gladly take Garland!!! He aligns with the young version of the team and hes solid!!! Not a bad start to get a solid team long term
@luisq125 Brooklyn should keep their options open but Garland doesn't seem to have the confidence or consistency to get to the rim and he was way too passive in the playoffs and not assertive enough....
Brooklyn needs reliability and consistency and not sure Garland will meet that unless he can rediscover his confidence....
@@jonathanoscategui2678 i agree with what you are saying but sometimes a change in environment might help the player develop… Look at Mikal no one expected that burst last year when he came from PHX, so give him time hes only 24 and his contract is not that bad.. 45 mil in 4 yrs is going to be cheap with these players earning 60 million..

Here's the thing y'all overlook: Garland would help just as much as Mitchell. Garland sets up his guys to score while Mitchell takes that pressure upon himself. If we got Mitchell, who's setting up teammates? That's a lot of pressure on Mitchell without another dynamic scorer next to him.
With Garland, we simply need to find his compliment - a guy you throw the ball to and watch him go to work. If we're keeping Claxton, finding that guy becomes difficult unless Claxton himself turns into that guy - a dream I wouldn't mind becoming reality

Cavs fan here, the ONLY deal we'd even consider from Nets is Garland for Bridges... Bridges is on an expiring contract, so that brings risk, Nets will need to add another wing like Finnie-Smith to make the deal work...
Bridges is under contract for this upcoming season and next season.

That’s true but I’m pretty sure that’s is majorly due to Donavan Mitchell who has that ball hog mentality and playstyle that hinders other ball handlers on a team.
I’m not convinced garland is the move because I personally want bridges to get traded to the rockets so we can start a full rebuild, but garland would make us a for sure playoff team, even though it’s just a first round exit every time

But in the last two years his confidence especially in the playoffs has gone away and he's been surprisingly way too passive and he had a horrible underwhelming playoff run this season....
Now could Garland potentially rediscover that magic if he's a main option? Maybe? But right now I have some reservations and questions on if Garland is a first or even second option for Brooklyn? 🤔😮

Would probably make more sense for a Team like the Magic or someone in that tier of Teams to make a move for Garland vs Nets at that price.
If the Nets don’t get Mitchell I’d personally rather pivot to a Murray from Hawks type since Nets need a Talent upgrade.
