  • If you are using thermostatic radiator valves and you would use an external power source like and H&T instead of the internal sensor within the TRV, this video explains how it is done.
    This works with the newer Shelly Plus H&T.
    TRV: shelly.cloud/shelly-thermosta...
    Plus H&T: shelly.cloud/shelly_plus_h-t/

    Thank you so much for this short, clear and simple video. This is exactly what I had been looking for and I finally managed to link my Shelly Plus H&T to my TRVs.

    Very useful video, thank you so much !!. After having installed the valve in a convector (a box with an heat exchanger) it was necessary to completely exclude the valve internal sensor using only the H&T external sensor input. I solved the problem simply by checking the option "enable under floor heating mode" in the TRV settings.

    Thanks interesting. I did this with sonoff units by using séances and it has been working well with two rads.

    Hello again
    Thank you thank you. Got it working now😀🙏

    I've installed Tuya based zigbee TRVs at home and since I have in each home also temperature sensors, I put them all in Home Assistant and I made the entire calculation and control in Node Red. So the sensor and the TRV don't see each other - TRV is simply controlled by HA. Much easier. The TRV temperature easily climbs to 28C when it gets open and the boiler is ON while real temperature in the room is still 17C. The problem with the calibration or offset is: the delta (between temperature measured by TRV and the real temperature in the room) is NOT constant. So setting up the fixed calibration is totally useless.

      That is try, but I made this video for users who have no HA or Node-Red. So for them this solution is much easier. If you have your home automation server, of course you can do anything. But in my example you just need these two devices and nothing else. And it takes 5 minutes to do.

    I just got the H&T (not the plus, just the normal one) and in the settings there is no webhooks.. Do I need to do something to activate it?

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  Před rokem

      It is under settings and called I/O Actions, and also Sensor Actions. It was not called Webhook in earlier models.

    Hello, Do you know if old shelly H&T can be paired with shelly TRV to use as an external sensor?

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  Před rokem

      My old H&T battery died, it took me some time to find new batteries. But now I could check and this does not work with the old Shelly unfortunately. There is a similar I/O Action, but it does not send the data in the same format as the TRV expects. So only the new H&T.

      @@csongorvarga : bad news, however i think it's possible to send webhooks with homeassistant, so i can bridge this problem.
      Thank you for the reply!

      @Loci1987 yes you could do this. Just re-format the data and url in HA.

    a note: setting a static ip on a device is NOT THE SAME than making a dhcp reservation... your router will NEVER know you already used an ip address and could then assign it to an other device, causing unpredictable issues... unless you restrict the dhcp range and then you're sure that taking ip out of that range, these will never be used by the dhcp...

      correct, best way is dhcp reservation in the router

    how should you set it up if you have 2 TRV's and 1 H&T device in one room?

      You can add multiple urls to the same action on the H&T. Url will be almost the same, just different IP.
