Hello 😊 I have been taking Armor med for many years. I have been okay, 69 years old. Doctor told me it wasn’t good for my age. He gave me 4 samples of different levothyroxine! I tried long time ago, I didn’t like at all, went back to the Armor. So for a month, I am a Guinea pig. 😮😮 Thank you. 😊

Like most people, I was prescribed Levothyroxine (T4) and took it for about a year. I started out on 50mcg and then bumped up to 75mcg but my TSH levels were not yet in the normal range so I asked for Liothyronine (T3) 5mcg to be added. After taking it for about 4 weeks, I was re-tested and told my results were in the normal range. I only took this combo for about 3 months before the pandemic. I was house bound with no way to get refills and ended up running out of meds. Its been over a year and I haven't started back on meds which I know is awful:( I have a dr. that is willing to prescribe me Armour if I want to try it. Thank you for explaining them so clearly but I have watched your video twice and still feel so overwhelmed with which choice is best. It sounds like both have several issues which leaves me right back where I started...not knowing which one to take. I could go the traditional route and take Levothyroxine (T4) with Liothyronine (T3) or the NDT route...ugh:( OR is there something else out there that would be better?

Thank you for the information. I had my thyroid removed in December of 2021. I've only been given Levo in high doses and then lower throughout the year. I asked my doctor for a full thyroid panel and will see her in person next month. I have a feeling that I need the T3 because I'm not losing any weight at all. My exhaustion has improved slowly since my TT surgery. I will try this cytomel. Perhaps this will work for me. Thanks,

I have Hashimoto's and Armour totally normalized my thyroid. My GP discovered the problem and I insisted on Armour because it worked for her. She went through hell on Synthroid, even had a radical hysterectomy, that later turned out to be unnecessary, and finally when told she needed an anti depressant - she switched Endos and found Armour to normalize her. That's when her new Endo informed her that had she switched sooner and been properly dosed the extreme of a radical hysterectomy would have been unnecessary. My Endo hates it when I reject his synthetic substitutes. Tests have determined I also need T3 due to conversion issues already in Armour. Through diet, I am getting my antibodies down. This bothers my Endo too. He also fights with me to switch to Synthroid even though I am doing well with Armour - and I remind him of that. All allopathic doctors are financially incented to prescribe drugs. Eventually I will dump him for an integrated or a functional doctor.
Allopathic doctors turn their collective noses up on diet and nutrition. They are totally brain washed with drugs, surgery or radiation. If they can't control the health issue with drugs, they'll put you on anti depressants to shut you up. If they can remove the offending organ, they will do that and put you on different drugs for life and if that doesn't work, they will push the anti depressants again. My best suggestion to others is to find a FUNCTIONAL doctor or an INTEGRATED doctor that factors in nutrition and tries to get at the root cause.
We are all individuals and what's going on in our bodies will differ ... Use what works or you in your individual situation. It is problematic that allopathic doctors, automatically put you on Synthroid when another option may better suit you. I do find the narrow mindset of these allopathic doctors to be worrisome, if they truly are interested in what's best for you, the patient. You can only hope the patient is their priority and not pharm perks.

None of them are good. Never felt good on any of them. Still struggle on Tirosint. Have been on all of them at one time or another. Even compounded. Armour batches are never the same because every pig is different. So each pill you get is different. I feel like crap on Tirosant. But felt even worse on Armour and NP, Westhroid. No good answer for us.

How much are you taking? I was on 25mcg of levo for 2 years. Switched to 30mg of Armour last October because levo was making me itch so bad all over my feet, legs, arms and under my chin. Then Armour made me break out in cystic acne all over the back of my neck, behind my ears, chin and cheeks. Switch to 30mg of NPT and I’m back to square one with the itching. Now I’m taking half of NPT 15mg. I still itch a little. I’m to the point that I’m going to slowly wean myself off.

No, that was an Armour issue decades ago and long since resolved. Allopathic doctors always push Levothyroxine, brand name: Synthroid. Synthroid and levothyroxine are human-made thyroxine (T4) hormones. Sorry to say, but these doctors are financially incented to push man made drugs.
