The Apocalyptic Tank that Might Kick-Start WW3

- As the saga of the Ukraine conflict unfolds, global powers edge closer to a definitive stand. The possibility of a more direct Western intervention lies heavy in the air, their arsenal boasting formidable weapons that could alter the Ukrainian fate.
The debate stirs around the prospective deployment of the Abrams or the Leopard tanks, these fearsome vehicles symbolizing Western might. Either could provide a crushing advantage to the Ukrainian forces, turning the tide of the battlefield in their favor.
However, amid these contenders, a new challenger emerges from the minds of French innovation - the Leclerc Tank. This behemoth matches its American and German counterparts in firepower, mobility, and protection. Its claim to fame, however, is a groundbreaking degree of automation and digital integration, with advanced fire control and battlefield management systems that reflect the future of warfare.
The Leclerc forges its own path, embracing an active defensive philosophy, pivoting towards agility and response. Encased in thick modular composite armor, it readies to weather the harshest warfare conditions.
Now, the world watches as the drama unfolds, anticipating the possible advent of the Leclerc and its trailblazing technology into a new chapter of the war in Ukraine… - Věda a technologie
Every time France decided to go at it on its own after initially being a part of a consortium involving multiple nations, the result had been nothing short of remarkable: the Leclerc & the Rafale.
Doesn't that give the French a chance to steal technology that didn't have? It makes for a great strategy. Form a consortium and pull out. There's no lost time if it further the development cycle with better technology.
Dassault did the the Delta before Eurofighter and the consortium That made Léo is radicaly different that Leclerc
@@crytp0crux You are coping for what ?

French engineers lacking in technology ? oh boy :') Most of the time France is teaching the world that instead of wasting billions for techno making things simple is just the way. For instance just look how many copycats were born from the CAESAR, litteraly a gun at the rear of a truck, instead of the PZh2000. French engineers always surpass themselves to produce the best with the so little funds they have and that's what the world envy them. @@crytp0crux
The problem is that the Leclerc tank is no longer produced, so it is impossible for France to deliver tanks to Ukraine as it already must maintain it's own fleet and also the 400 of Jordan and Emirates.
However it is undoubtebly an exceptional tank, I would argue better than the Abrams is it is highly mobile and above all easier to maintain with a lighter logistic. It is also one generation younger than the Leopard 2 however the German tank in 2A8 version is now modernised.
Yeah, french politicians fucked up
Le problème est plus grand que celui de la production, ce tank est bourré de technologie dernier cri et connexion satellite et scorpion, c'est impossible de donner un tank comme ça sans entrée en guerre contre la Russie !, car le centre opérationnel ne peut être que Français !
Leopard and Abrams tanks were developed in one german american project. So they have the same level and also the leclerc have no higher level. The main different is the autoloader and this have pro and cons. And the leclerc have many french industrial specific exceptionalities in comparison to the leopard and abrams. So the maintenance...
Leclerc tank is still updated in order to maintain on the top of technology but is not in production anymore, meaning that afaIK France cannot replace them. In other words so France cannot give any Leclerc tanks to Ukraine.
That's a Problem were the Ukraine can help.
Production
Honestly, it could be a good opportunity for renewal and to standardise on a platform that can use NATO standard rounds instead of adding complexity to logisitics.
France can give Le Clercs to Ukraine and purchase the more modern K2 Black Panther MBTs. 😂😂😂
@@tajiroller France actually have a program for the futur MBT in coopération with some EU member they never purchase a foreigner MBT, France is quite capable with its industry and political will to produce large series of combat tanks tomorrow if they wish.
It’s still a failed tank.
It is surely one of the best MBTs in the world, but in my humble opinion France will not send one to Ukraine because it has too few.

And as France must provide an armored division to NATO in the event of conflict....

Finally, France is currently moving into a "war economy" and arms production is about to triple with the construction of new military equipment factories all over France, just "just in case"

I've always found their tools for warfare to be relatively simple and all business (hardly ever flashy). The MAS-36 comes to mind. Simple as a rifle can get like the M91-30 Mosin Nagant, but more refined.

There's no conversation about sending the Leclerc to Ukraine anymore. That was considered in January 2023 but abandoned. France might slowly send the rest of their AMX-10RC fleet though, as they are currently being replaced in the French Army.
The French Leclerc tank’s major advancement is the new armour plated croissant shell.

More different weapons systems means a maintenance nightmare, which isn't much help to Ukraine. More M1s or Leopard 2s already on the battlefield is smarter.
They dont care IMO. It's either destroyed or they buy it a train ticket to some EU country
Not only for Ukraïne, also for NATO itselfe. All these different tanks means lots of different parts, also critical parts like engines/powerpacks. It also mean higher development costs, also for education and lower numbers build, which will rise the price per piece and running costs. You don't want that. You want a broken down French tank to be fixed in the nearest field repair shop and get a new powerpack there, no matter if that powerpack originally worked in a Leopard or similar. That is the best way to keep as much tanks in action. It is not that the Leclerc is a bad tank or the Leopard is superior or the K2 is the best. It is just that there are to many different tanks.
It would already be great if they all used the same tracks, since tracks is a critical item.
Good looking tank. Looks a lot like the new Abram X prototype.
You’ll love the EMBT 2022 then
Lol No. Also, how dumb is it to suggest a tank may be the cause of starting a new world war? Any main battle tank is ultimately as good as the operating faction's ability to move it to and around a particular battlespace and other logistical challenges. Not that it "May" start another world war, which is still a stupid statement, the Abrams X is absolutely terrifying with the logistical problems it solves and industrial abilities of the nation producing it comparatively, not to mention the tech.
I told myself”Nobody wants another world war but in peace in our Country and our Nations too”
would not make much of a difference if it’s not used in a combined force and operating with air superiority
Always clips about Tank is interesting to me
then what good are your m1a1 tanks?
French are proud to a fault, but sometimes it produces gems. Leclerc Tank, and a few of their cars. Usually underrated always unique!
Rafale, Mirage, and lot of excellent military equipments. The French are right to be proud of their productions. Aren't the Germans and the Americans, often in a totally excessive and arrogant way?
Would love to see these in Ukraine,.
Vive la France! 🇫🇷 Nothing wrong with French technology! The use of a .50 cal in the coaxial position instead of a 7.62 is an excellent idea that leverages the extended range of that cartridge using the main gun sights. That actually makes more sense than the other configuration. No mention of the different main gun exhaust- the Leopard and Abrams use passive mitigation, the LeClerc actively pumps air into the barrel after firing. Other French weapons systems are also superior in some ways to the rest of NATO. The Rafale is another good example. During the attack on Libya, the French flew Rafale’s over Libya before the air defense network was taken down by cruise missiles thanks to the unique electronic warfare suite utilized by that aircraft. That technology is so secret that it is not exported, nor shared with allies to my knowledge. Millenium7 has a good presentation on the Rafale.
Last I checked, Ukraine was running out bodies to feed the meat grinder... What's the point of sending these tanks if there's no one to operate them...???... More expensive scrap metal for the heap...
Yup.
I don't get why automated guns are not ontop of tanks to deal with drones. If shotguns can take out birds overhead they can do it with drones, even afew shotgun pellets would damage a drone severely
well, dunno about your shotgun idea, but combat drones are a newer dimension to warfare than most MBT's are old. that very much includes the leclerc.
What???? Use a cheap , effective , proven weapon (shot gun) when Governments can piss away Tens of Billions to develop a high tech system that costs hundreds of thousands for each missile or round to destroy a $500 drone ?? That's crazy talk! How would defense contractors get paid ??
CWIS on tanks instead of cope cage
i would agree but i think that a belt fed long barrel 40mm grenade launcher with 00 buckshot rounds would be the ultimate in anti drone warfare
Automaic shotgun exist. We only need autonomy to them, computer shoot anything that comes too close (by flying) of comes toward too fast. Mix of different shots to got right ammo in every burst.
Thanks, Dark Tech.
I like almost all the western tanks currently in service but the issue I see especially in the EU is the quantity of tanks. France, Germany, and Britain have very small tank forces and with everything being seen in Ukraine it seems like that could be a huge problem. The quality is superb but are the numbers enough? or are we all just hoping war never breaks out? Not for nothing but it seems like the readiness issues and military issues in general are not really being taken seriously.
UK is not in EU now. As much as the majority of the population focused on the economic side, people like us understood that the military loss of the UK was bad news. I think the EU needs to distance itself from the US to have a military policy of our own and we will really miss the military power of the UK.
@@mr_exia EU is a economic alliance while NATO is the military alliance. US citizens are fed up with NATO and see the majority of its members as weak freeloaders. Only 7 of the 32 NATO members spend the required 2% GDP on defense.
Tanks are obselete anyways , we need light tanks with big main gun as cavalery , anything else is just target for arty , atgms and planes
Whilst I am always happy to seem more tanks in service, Western forces practice doctrine that is very different to Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine lacks the arsenal to wage combined arms maneuvre warfare and secure aerial superiority, yet alone dominance. Russia makes no effort to own the skies because it doesn't expect to compete with Western forces, so it is focused on area denial and uses waves of armour / infantry (as it did during the Soviet era and and often did during the time of the Russian Empire). At the small unit level, Ukraine's tactics have improved across the last decade (thanks to Western training and combat experience) but at the strategic level, it remains trapped in something resembling the Russian way of war because it is hard to transition a whole military to a new doctrine during an active conflict (as units are necessarily fighting to hold the line and cannot be withdrawn for new training).
As a result, there remain large sections (perhaps the majority) of the Ukrainian military that is only trained and experienced in the Soviet legacy. The Ukrainian military will experience massive transformation after the war but even then, as now, there will be challenges because 'experienced' commanders and soldiers often resist change; feeling that they 'know' what's best thanks to their combat experience. It could take decades for the Ukrainian military to fully modernise and in the meanwhile, they will need a lot of armour and men. Thanks to technological advantages offered by Western aid and often superior small unit tactics however, the Russians will probably continue to need much more fodder (sadly, that's what their personnel often amount to).
Germany massively downsized its tank fleet after the fall of communism. The lion's share of the over 1000 Leopard 2s sold into the world is refurbished from former German army stock that was freed up as a result of that downsizing.
is here, gave you a 👍! My notifications are on. I am a subscriber. I have received notification of your video 🙂. Audio video is good.
Tanks do not kick start wars (and in war "kick start" has no professional or even specific meaning). Tanks are merely part of combined arms doctrine (or lack thereof when they get lit up).
What did Putin say?….”they burn all the same” Point is no tank will change the tide or eat artillery rounds.
Give these tanks to Ukraine instead of toy "tanks" like the AMX-10.
Why? Ukraine would conveniently "lose" them. They would later be found at an arms bazaar in the ME.
Any tank is only as good as the soldiers that operate them. If you don't have the infrastructure to train the soldiers that operate them you're not going to get very far. That training is a day after day after day after day ordeal.
Why do you give weight in tons and speed in kph?
Sweden tested, M1, Le Clerk, T-84. and the Leo tank. They choose the Leo.
Smart choice. It's always a game of compromise but economy of squale is a big advantage. Maintenance and parts would be more accessible and available with the Leo.
That's also because Germany was willing to sell them the components to be modified extensively by Sweden, to the point that they're deserving of a name of their own instead of just a 2A... variant designation.
Do you really think that these kinds of decisions are made solely based on the quality of the product?
Yes, I have read the summaries and agree to it. @@31200Julien
The Leclerc was too young when put in competition they were barely out of validation phase in France so Sweden judged the tank too immature.
The biggest flaw of the Leclerc was that it entered production after the end of the cold war.
How can you tell when a channel is losing views? A mention of WW3
I dunno if this is AI written but when he talks about weapons, he acts like they have some super firepower that western tanks don't have....but the M1 Abrams has a 120mm Smoothbore, a 50 call coaxial and 2 7.62x51 machineguns on top. It has even more firepower than the Leclerc. It's also extremely fast, at 72 kmph which is 1 KMPH faster than the Leclerc's released speed...
Being heavier with Depleted Uranium Alloy frontal protection plates.
The Leclerc isn't as good as the older models of M1, much less the SEP V3 update.

Are all these new super high tech automated computerized tanks still hardened against EMP? I hate to imagine a few tactical EMPs would mean only Russia was left with working tanks.
EMP is not the magic bullet you think it is. Most vehicles are hardened against basic EMP by their very design.
If I had to choose between a Western tank and a Russian tank in the event of a powerful EMP event (powerful enough to matter), then I would take the Western tank every time. There are layers of redundancy built in that old, mid-century technologies didn't offer and for the most part, that's what one expects in a Russian tank. Besides, you need a good fire-control system and don't want it to knocked out by EMP or simply have none to begin with...
People watch too much TV where they think EMPs are going to destroy everything we have that uses electronics...
The real threat to tanks is from above and below. Mines have always been an issue but drones are the newest threat and have been devastating to every tank regardless of who made it and when.
People forget that military vehicles were hardened against EMP. If you don't believe anything not hardened is going to be OK on a nuclear battlefield, I hope our Generals know better.

Regardless of how marvelously high tech your MBT might be, your tank will be trashed or render useless with a 2000$ drone throwing a grenade on its optics or in the hatch.

That's the real problem the Ukraine has they don't have enough people for a fight like this.

So how the hell it the one .50 and one 7.62mm spoken of in this video made to sound like that's revolutionary? lmao. Really......please face palm ones self. It is a solid vehicle. Personally however comma, the auto loader isn't a perfect system and imagine it fails mid battle. I'll take a high speed pvt-spc jacked up on bangs and zyns any day. That won't fail unless fatally wounded. Plus extra hands for the tank are a god send.
This tank is one of the best in the world….better than US, German, UK,…but same as South Corean. French industry used to manufacture good products at lower price than US products. Rafale plane is still the best vs US planes as Raptor or F35….and at a very cheapest price. 😛

I'm annoyed that countries like France, the US, Germany, and others in Europe didn't bother to send their troops into Ukraine as a deterrent against Russia's invasion in the first place. Ukraine invited those countries to station their troops in Ukraine. Russia, obviously, was never invited.
