Funny how people didn't feel the need to bring up how everyone shares the common goal of recognizing human rights in places like the US, Russia, or other European countries(some of which may have regressive attitudes towards LGBT rights). Hell, nobody brought up human rights when we were talking about hosting majors in places like Brazil which was notable at the time for being potentially unsafe for LGBT people.

If as you say, they participated at the event and then get quickly hurried off into a hotel or other place of stay only to be held there until the next event, I still cannot reasonably be asked to believe that I should consider that region/country/city/event safe for LGBTQ individuals.
Overall, the only thing that really matters to these individuals is the Saudi paycheck. In some ways, as despicable as it would be, I’d rather they just admitted that instead of spewing out such nonsense.

You're typically pretty reasonable, but this one kinda seems outta the park. I agree there was a load of pandering "we all share a goal" bla bla. But honestly, what do you want the Esports Federation to do? They're an esports Federation. Taking them at their word, they're talking to Amnesty International, as well as the Saudi government. We all know it isn't gonna do jack shit about their values, but why shit on them for that? They can't really do much, and they're doing a hell of a lot more than just sneaking to Riyadh and hoping no one notices. There seems to be no right choice for the Federation. And it doesn't seem that far out, that the Federation only can judge safety in Saudi-Arabia by talking to the Swedes, and it seems as if you don't know what the security measures in place are either, since you didn't mention them, at least for that particular example. Not saying you're bullshitting, but I believe you are being too black-and-white here.
