As a lifelong Sooner fan who's now in his mid 50s, I can say without a doubt you did not let us down!!
We love you guys, we support you guys and we're trying to say it as loud as possible but the negative Nancys come out of the woodwork when anything is less than perfect. They can't see anything but negative because they're negative biased. It's quite literally the easiest thing to do because a loss is negative and wallowing in that energy makes everything look negative.
What's really difficult is when negative things happen and you're hurting is to raise up your gaze. Keep your head up and look to the horizon because brighter days are on their way. It's hard to do because the pain is so present.
But the improvements over last season are quite obvious.
Nic you've been nothing but stellar and spectacular so you had an off game or a few plays that you would like to have back and try again. OK....no biggie. It happens. You're only human and it's cool. I have no doubt you'll do better going forward.
Kayden - man I can''t wait till you're healthy so we can watch you play also. It'll be fun and I'm here for all of it.
I'll be at the game this Saturday against WVU and cheering as loudly as I can!!! None of you guys are a disappointment and you didn't let us down. We're still here and cheering for you guys so relax, turn off social media and hang out with family and friends and those that make you feel good in life. AND always remember that just because someone types something negative doesn't make it true and you don't have to read it, answer it, or even give it any time in your mind because it literally doesn't matter.

This is a refreshing post. Oklahoma needs more fans like this. The KU loss was tough, and the Bedlam loss was honestly demoralizing considering OSU has bragging rights for probably the next decade. But this program and team is heading in the right direction. BV will keep improving too.

I have been an OU fan since the early 60s, and I also covered games as a photographer on the sidelines. I have seen many ups and downs and many teams over the years, but you are part of the second year of a total rebuild, and this team has improved greatly since last year. I have complete faith in the coaching staff and the players, and I am sure that you will be fine and win out the rest of the season and have a winning season, and go to a good bowl game. Don't listen to the fair weather fans who are ready to quit on the team as soon as things don't go like they believe that they should.
Keep grinding and growing men. BV seems to be preaching the right things daily and Sooner fans should be able to recognize the growth and trajectory of this team/program.
So proud of the improvement this year! Keep your heads up and know that true Sooner fans love you guys!

I’ve been a Sooner fan all my life. Had thoughts about moving to Norman when I retire in a few years to be closer to OU football. I went to the KState OU game last yr. The fans acted sooo ugly, made me change my mind completely about ever wanting to live in Norman.
Can’t imagine what you guys have to deal with.

As a OSU grad and Stillwater native, all things Norman make me choke... however. This was a nice insight to what players actually incur when they put on a uniform for a school. Kudos to you guys being honest with yourselves and holding your own. I would like to wish you luck the rest of the way but that might be a little too much for me lol. Good job on the vlod!

OMG. Guys, please know that you have fans that are supporting you and the coaches 100%. I know we as fans can get disappointed, but IT'S A FOOTBALL GAME. We are not the ones putting in 10-12 hours of work a day all year long. Any feelings we have cannot even compare to what the players and coaches are experiencing. Fans need to imagine making a mistake at their jobs and being dragged through the mud and receiving death threats for it. Keep your head up guys and know we love you.

Don't pay much attention to the noise from the fans. They're just venting their frustrations and picking apart things they THINK they see but we're all clueless to what's going on. But you men know what's true. Everything else is just distractions. Stick with your brothers and be true to yourself and your teachings and I believe you'll achieve greatness at OU. I also believe Coach V, Lebby, et al. are fully capable of leading you there.

Cincinnati football team destroyed the Tulsa football visitor’s locker room last year. Tulsa AD called the conference and Cincinnati AD and told them and Cincinnati paid for the repairs. Tulsa send them a bill. Cincinnati AD hung up on Tulsa AD after Tulsa told him what his football team did. They punched holes in the walls and pulled down lights and more.

I’ve been an OU fan for a long time. No OU team has ever let me down. This OU team has done nothing but make me proud of my university.
I will openly admit that I’m very unhappy with the offensive coordinator. It isn’t because of the play calls. It isn’t because of some struggles. It is 100% because he decided to blame a player when speaking to the media. If he believes the player made a mistake that’s fine. He’s the coach, so he should point that out to the player so he can get better. But to anyone not in that locker room he needs to own it. He called the play. If the athlete didn’t execute it the way he wanted them to it is because he didn’t properly teach the player. I hope he grows from that mistake whether he’s at OU for the next 20 years or whether he’s dismissed after this week. He’s a Sooner and i want the best for him, just like I do everyone on the team.
The average fan thinks you should score every possession and 3 and out on defense. I coached against Coach Lebby’s dad and they are a great family. Guys keep your head up and know you have a lot of support. Boomer Sooner
Criticism is part of the position. Fans need to be more patient sure. But I can understand the criticism when they get 14 penalties and 3 turnovers. 2 for bad snaps. That falls back on the coaches too.

You guys played your ass off . But a lot of fans haven’t played sports and don’t understand. My biggest take is we were the better team out of OSU and Kansas it was self inflicted errors at the wrong time . With Andrel going down and being a focal point of offense Lebby has to try and change his play calling in the middle of season
and it’s hard to do . Nic you got the talent but your a freshman and still growing so of course there is growing pains . This team is still moving in right direction people so quick to place blame but don’t look at every situation and it’s just unfair to make judgement. Anyways OU all day #1
This team is a lot better from last year. They are having a lot of mental mistakes that are costing this team games and if they fix that this team won’t lose anymore games. I know the refs don’t help but can’t get into positions where they can decide games. I know a lot of people want lebby gone but the first 6 games they were lighting it up minus the smu game but the team wasn’t dropping passes wasn’t having bad mental mistakes and wasn’t having turnovers. If this team can get back to having a fire under their ass they gonna be right back to where they were just gotta find it.
LOL... Nothing changes fellas, I played at University of Houston in the late 80's early 90's, it's impossible to explain any of this stuff to fanatics who bought a beer and a ticket and now understand football. LOL
The modern game is something I've had to spend a lot of time learning, it's nothing like the football we played back in my day. The fans don't understand that you guys have all kinds of pre-snap and post-snap reads in your route concepts and the same on defense. Haha

Everybody just has to do their 1/11th. That game is won by 3 touchdowns without 3 turnovers, 14 penalties, and just too many simple mistakes every handful of plays.

I certainly haven't said anything negative about the young men on the team. I will however criticize what I see as big coaching mistakes since those are grown men who get paid very well to do better. If you're just talking about the players then I'm with you 100%. I dont think anyone could want to win more than these guys that work for it year round.

Nic y’all are out here busting yalls butts harder than 99% of these people out here, how could we be disappointed? Also I remember last year when the defense was consistently allowing 40 ppg and nobody was saying fire roof or venables over it. Lebby has put up averaging over 40 points per game this year and 33 ppg last year and even last year, but a lot more this year, people are crying to fire Lebby. Guys it’s pretty hard to have full control of one side of the ball. He’s calling the shots, he’s got the playbook and he’s developing these players while constantly having moronic fans breathing down his neck “oh he needs to be fired wah wah 😡” like omfg CHILL OUTTT. Does he make some questionable calls at times, sure, but so did Lincoln Riley. He made A LOTTA questionable calls ON OFFENSE and he’s considered the offensive mastermind of college. There won’t be another playcaller like Riley any time soon and that’s just facts. Lebby is just fine. Plus if we lose him, we lose Jackson Arnold. We lose a bunch of Lebby recruits. There’s a reason why Saban wanted him so badly

Did you play football at a high level? Have you ever coached at a high level? Most fans complaining don't know what they're talking about. If the play doesn't work, blame Lebby 🤣. What about the missed block, dropped ball, fumble, running the wrong route, etc. None of those things are Lebbys fault. SMDH

Lebby whole scheme is gimmicky. I have never been a fan of the hurry up nor the constant passes to the sideline or behind the LOS. I hate the jet sweep every other play
